I'm just curious to see if people really are doing this kinda stuff or not. I personally haven't gotten around to it, as I feel a bit apprehensive. Also, if this has been asked before then you can point me to the topic :P

Fair point, and I have figured the same thing when deciding against proposing Bitcoin in this manner, but I'd still like to at least get the word out, as I'm sure plenty of people in this community would like to do. The network is nowhere near powerful enough to facilitate the number of transactions it would take to, say, service all Starbucks customers. Obviously, fees can be tacked on to move priority transactions along faster. But I still think the network is better suited to larger transactions, like buying a toaster online, or breezily sending a guy in Vegas 100BTC to make a bet, etc...
