Title: Is Kraken a scam? Yes, nearly.
Post by: parentibule on September 15, 2017, 01:36:53 PM
I defended a moment Kraken against attacks, then a little less, then even less.

Now, I opened my eyes and definitively quit this crappy exchange! I've already negotiated some of my losses in Kraken Fee because of their bugs but now it's too big! Whenever there is a strong upward or downward trend, it is impossible to connect.

They liquidated my positions just when it went up, causing me to lose more than 20%. And during that time, I could not connect! EACH time I have to urgently made operations, it's impossible.

I say it's a scam because they had problems for months; they removed everything (some coins, all complex orders) and nothing changes at all.

I do not know which platform offers orders a little less basic than sell/buy limit/market but I quit for sure.

How it's curious: it's very easy to lose lot of money on Kraken (impossible to sell when you want) but impossible to win (impossible to buy).

I think the real problem is that at time of turmoil the exchange goes offline and pitch black, and blames it on overload. That is when real money is being made..

I've never had a problem with Kraken.  One of my go-to exchanges as a matter of fact.

As far as i know about kraken, they have least security. Do you know bittrex is one of the biggest exchanges in crypto market with large number of trade pairs?
You can simply move to bittrex so you let them serve better.
I do have my personal experience with bittrex.Bittrex has no such issues till now as they carry out an SSL protection to kep your funds safe and secure.

Kraken is not the worst exchange in cryptoworld. I'm using it from time to time. I can say it is good to buy or exchange some altcoins, so it is not a scam.
For example Poloniex looks more dangareous exchange, they never answer on tickets.

Only for those to try to abuse the system. We don't use them personally but we've heard nothing that would make him sound like a scam. Other than those two get their accounts bad because they have multiple accounts, Dont use multiple IP addresses, or do other things to break their terms of service.

I don't have any issue with buy coins with Kraken, but I did noticed that the prices are always higher on kraken. For instance if the trend is 60$ per Litecoin, the price will be around 63-65$ on kraken

Although they have pretty bad response time and availability with tons of downtimes, stating it's a scam seems like a harsh statement.

I do understand that people who lost money are pissed, but this has been a known issue for a while now. I see Kraken as one of the easiest gateways to crypto for EU bank accounts, but otherwise it's true that if you plan on trading daily and/or putting margin orders, it's definitely bad and you should consider more stable ones.

I suggest that you have to move with more trusted and secure service. I know one which is known secured in bitcoin market, try bittrex because it is SSL protected. There were no issue attached with bittrex until now, I have tested their service also and found it good. There are other safe and secure service try to move and avoid such kind of spam. What's good about bittrex is its trade pairs. You can try it,

I used Kraken quite often, but we definitely need more decentralised exchanges for the future.

Having a SSL doesn't mean shit and is the new normal, any wordpress website can have it for free now. Kraken has one, Liqui, EtherDelta, NovaExchange.. I'm not aware of any exchange running without a SSL, so I don't really get your point.

you account liquidated  because you use margin trading system, and youre balance is limit to liquidation
if you not want liqudate in trading, you can use normal trading not margin trading

iam smile and iam not believe you lost in trading and you say exchanger scam

You did the right decesion because your just wasting your time in here, imagine you lose the big amount of what you have but the dev just ignore it. That's too bad.

Also using Kraken from time to time, only to buy/sell coins without margin trading, and never a problem. Poloniex is having a lack in support or something, some people wait 6 months to get their verification done, this is hilarious. But still we have a wide range of exchangers to work with imho.

Kraken is one of top exchanges currently ,checkout it daily volume ,it do not need to scam people just for sake of money.you might facing some problem you can contact their support service or connect through other media.but they will never block your service without any proper reason.

A valid proof?
I think kraken is a very big market, they are not possible SCAM.
They will lose their supporters if they do what you say

Kracken is THE biggest scam out there its basically a vault that you put your currency into and never are allowed to get out until they decided that they have made their profit and if your lucky maybe your coins will be worth a fraction of what they were.  Ripple XRP and all the other 1%ers are all working with Kracken trying desperately to ruin cryptocurrency.  Its comical for people to think Xrp will be worth anything why would you trust banks?  Banks have continually ruined the worlds economy and thats what thet're trying to do with ripple/xrp working with kracken.  Dont take my word for it do a simple internet search about kracken people have lost millions for their "errors" and they continue to fly under the radar.  BTW here is how ripple will play out 2020 xrp will be worth $20 BUT there will be harsh stipulation on WHERE you can spend xrp.  Banks will attach on fees for every cent of xrp making it worth about $0.60.  DONT TRUST BANKS DONT TRUST GOVERNMENTS THEY WILL ALWAYS SCREW YOU OVER.  Long story short if you have money to burn and dont mind giving to the filthy rish then go ahead and work with kracken.

So, in your view every exchange who is having problems with payout is a scam  ???

It's ridiculous really, your opinion is based only on the thing what you think of Kraken, and can not prove.
People have been using kraken also with margin trading, and got their money out with no problem, again and again.
About Ripple, here you could be right. But again i do not need to spend XRP, i bought it very low, and made a very good profit on it, partly sold, waiting for new heights.
There will be many other cryptocurrencies which you can actually use in daily life.
Agree on "don't trust banks" fully, they are the biggest SCAM and still doing that day over day, making money priceless so that you have to work on 2 jobs to make a living, wonderful ins't it  :)

Kraken had a major upgrade in early January which has resulted in a far smoother trading experience. If you haven't tried Kraken in a while I'd suggest stopping by and checking out our new trading interface at trade.kraken.com (http://trade.kraken.com).

If you have any specific issues please post it on our Bitcointalk thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=290799.0).
