I guess you can find anything on Alibaba nowadays.  It's funny/somewhat disturbing to see sellers on there offering BFL gear though, and delivery "within 7 days".  Sadly I'm sure they'll get a few people with that.

A bit off-topic sorry but my fav. is this one  http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/887992466/Uncirculated_Pure_Copper_Bitcoin.html (http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/887992466/Uncirculated_Pure_Copper_Bitcoin.html)
"Supply Ability:   50000 Piece/Pieces per Month"  Great !!  Who needs Avalons with 50,000 'pure bitcoins' /mth, lmao

Haha yeah.  I was hoping to go straight to the factory door and find someone selling these asic miners.   The seller is verified though as it states an inspector physically visited their facility.  Oh well $10,000 is a lot for 88gh/s when there are others selling 85gh/s here for $6k

when you buy on Alibaba first verify if is a gold supplier second put the money on the alibaba escrow. If they refuse escrow just walk away. I moonlighted as a buyer on Alibaba in a previous life. Was scammed twice in India and that taught me a lesson to be very carefull

"and taking preorders"

Surely we have learned this lesson by now.

For kicks I politely asked the seller in the OP link to prove that they have an asic chip as very few other companies have been able to develop them.  Received this oh so familiar reply....

"On August, our asic  minner 88gh/s will be finished production ,you can subscribe right now ,or wait until August."

ssdd....

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.  You can visit a factory working with tons of ASICs but that does not mean anything.  How about a physical demonstration of the hardware in question by an independent inspector?

I'm not sure all these numbers are exact, but here's what I get.

88 Ghps = 293 ASIC chips @ 300~ Mhps

Price per chip is BTC0.083~

293 * BTC0.083 = BTC24 = $3165~

Components + work for a 16 Klondike chip is BTC0.75 (source (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=216952.0;all)), and this is ~18x more.

BTC0.75 * 18 = BTC13 = $1690

That's close to $5000 without a case, power supply, and extra features.

Avalon: If I'm not mistaken, batch #1 was $1300 @ 66 Gphs, that's ~$20/Gphs, not sure about batch #2. If the next Avalon batch will be BTC75 (no idea if it will), it's going to be $9750 for 66(or 60?) Ghps.

Avalon: ~$20 - $147/Ghps (Real company)
This: ~$122/Ghps (Unknown company/basement dweller)
DIY: ~$33/Gphs (Group buy + Company to build it)

But don't take my word for it..

ops, should have read it. There's another selling USB miners for $1, investigating, sometimes they put a price to attract buyers and switch and bait when you talk to them

I don't really trust alibaba merchants, there are too many and the good and the bad are all together, very hard to get to know which are the good ones and which are the bad guys.

$400 for 400mhz doesn't even make them competitive with GPUs. $300 for a 7950 will get you 600mhz+ easily

if the price were 4 for $1000 that would get you 1600mhz, but then 3 7950s would still only cost $900 and get you 1700-1900mhz.

yes cost of power is an issue, but going for the asking price $100 buys a fair bit of power, and the extra 100-200mhz gets you a few extra BTC, plus the option to mine LTC etc.

Now if I could talk them into 5 for $1000....(every thing is negotiable in China.....)
