I realize this is for security reasons but if you want it to be effective yet still let most users power search shorten the "cooldown" to 5 seconds. 64 Seconds is excessive.

How can you read a thread and have a useful reply within 5 seconds?

I'm guessing that Cosmorph is either editing and that's triggering the cooldown, I don't know whether or not it does, or reading through a page and then replying to multiple comments in quick succession.

It looks like he may be talking about searching?  If so quite often I'm looking for something the reason I can't find it is because I'm unsure about what I should be searching for, so I'll need to do 2 or more searches in quick succession to find the proper term.  This can be annoying, usually I'll go do something else between searches and it takes quite a while to actually get it done.

if it's searching, type into google:
site:bitcointalk.org your search term

no time restrictions and more relevant results.

Yea this really annoys me sometimes

You would be extremely surprised of how inefficient SMF is when it comes to DB searches. I was a moderator at a very large gaming community and when our ban list reached a certain length (using all triggers on every ban) it would cause our servers to crash for a moment when we made a ban. I assume the same could happen with searches on a large forum such as this one.

Its annoying if your trying to reply to someone and you have to wait a minute..

Sorry for not being more specific I was a tad annoyed at the time but searching is exactly what I was talking about. The best answer is to leave the site to search the site ie. google.
