Title: First person to fix my iPhone that's stuck in a boot loop gets 0.1BTC Post by: cheesylard on May 28, 2013, 11:46:16 AM It's a 16GB iPhone 4S running iOS 6.0.0. I want to preserve the jailbreak, so any advice that has anything to do with restoring it to factory settings will be ignored.
Syslog is here: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=LxswTx6k List of currently installed packages is here: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=PjxUrvc7 As you can see by the syslog, the phone is only on for about 2 minutes before turning off and back on again. This started happening when I uninstalled a couple packages Let me know if you need anything else. I already tried ilex r.a.t, by the way. I'm pretty sure that's caused by these: May 28 04:37:47 evasi0n[17] <Emergency>: Not yet finalized... May 28 04:37:48 evasi0n[17] <Emergency>: Not yet finalized... root-Applications-MobileMail.app-MailEnhancer_ToggleUnread.png & MailEnhancer_ToggleUnread@2x.png (delete xxx.png files) root-Library-MobileSubstrate-DynamicLibraries-MailEnhancer.dylib & MailEnhancer.plist (delete xxx.dylib and xxx.plist files) root-Library-MobileSubstrate-PreferenceBundles-MailEnhancer.bundle (delete the whole folder 'MailEnhancer.bundle) root-Library-MobileSubstrate-PreferenceLoader-Preferences-MailEnhancer.plist (delete xxx.plist file) try that, it seems Springboard is causing the issue (from my limited iOS knowledge) Title: Re: First person to fix my iPhone that's stuck in a boot loop gets 0.1BTC Post by: cheesylard on May 28, 2013, 01:47:59 PM If you can open the iphone files system in iPhone Explorer, delete the following: None of those are in my filesystem.root-Applications-MobileMail.app-MailEnhancer_ToggleUnread.png & MailEnhancer_ToggleUnread@2x.png (delete xxx.png files) root-Library-MobileSubstrate-DynamicLibraries-MailEnhancer.dylib & MailEnhancer.plist (delete xxx.dylib and xxx.plist files) root-Library-MobileSubstrate-PreferenceBundles-MailEnhancer.bundle (delete the whole folder 'MailEnhancer.bundle) root-Library-MobileSubstrate-PreferenceLoader-Preferences-MailEnhancer.plist (delete xxx.plist file) try that, it seems Springboard is causing the issue (from my limited iOS knowledge) Title: Re: First person to fix my iPhone that's stuck in a boot loop gets 0.1BTC Post by: jdebunt on May 28, 2013, 01:52:31 PM Well apparently your system is looking for Springboard & it's not installed, which seems to be the issue (guess you removed something too much?)

Then cancel sync, wait to see if it automatically boots otherwise enter recovery mode, you could also enter DFU mode.
I have had this problem no ends of times after jailbreaking and this always sorts it out. Title: Re: First person to fix my iPhone that's stuck in a boot loop gets 0.1BTC Post by: RioGrande on May 28, 2013, 05:43:06 PM Grip iPhone tight. Launch onto concrete. Buy android.
Fixed. Title: Re: First person to fix my iPhone that's stuck in a boot loop gets 0.1BTC Post by: i3lome on May 29, 2013, 10:47:02 AM Should be able to put it in dfu mode and restore the the firmware that was on there before jailbreaking. After you restore the firmware jailbreak again. Also you could just put it in dfu mode and rerun the jailbreak. Also check for updated jailbreak software.

Buy android. I would, but there's more money in iOS development so I put up with it. Honestly when you get it working right, jailbroken iOS > AndroidFixed. EDIT: I've had some success using iFaith to get the signed blobs off the device, but it seems like you aren't going to be able to do that from your description. Launch Cydia and scroll to the top of the list in the Changes tab, update Mobile Substrate.
