I dont know why but iam scared of bitcoin getting ban.
Because of the china situation is there any possibility that bitcoin will get ban in every single country

Even if the world did, how could the stop it?

Bitcoin is just currency. No government can stop two people from using something as currency for exchang of good and services.

For example, if i fix your roof and you pay me as compensation, how can any government interefere with that personal transaction?

Let's get some examples of how a government could ban Bitcoin. China hasn't even banned Bitcoin, they just won't let you buy Bitcoin in China with yuan.

I thought China government only ban ICOs and local bitcoin exchanges on China, so chinese people still can use bitcoin at china or outside exchanges like bittrex. Am i right ? I think bitcoin will not get ban in every single country, chill dude. Bitcoin is not that bad, bitcoin is just an online currency.

Noobs need to understand that Bitcoin can not be banned.Only exchanges can be banned and that's not the same.Giving us the power of decentralization is the best thing about bitcoin.Once you own bitcoin(provided you also own the keys) you are in complete control no matter your goverment bans it.You can sell it even then to someone as the demand for bitcoin will increase in future.

If we are to remain honest, people are engaged with Bitcoin mostly for profits, but shutting down the majority of exchanges will definitely bring the prices down. Due to that, Bitcoin will quickly lose all of its "sex-appeal" for speculators and profiteers. In fact, the authorities are doing the right thing when they are attacking the exchanges (if they really want to hurt or destroy Bitcoin). I would certainly do just that if hurting Bitcoin was my goal

There you can see that every country has his own opinion about bitcoin. So even when a country wants to ban bitcoins, it will never happen worldwide.

They can ban and declare Bitcoin illegal in some countries but other countries will support bitcoin, so it will never be forbidden worldwide. And even in countries where Bitcoin is not legal, there are ways to use it, hold it, trade and buy with it. So don't be afraid. The democratic and decentral money will find its way to the people. Noone can really stop it as long as the people have an internet connection.

A set back from the Chinese market by banning the ICO is not a thing to be scared off in the grand scheme of things,it is just a reflection of the market which reacted to the news and nothing else and China did not ban bitcoin,they just want to clean up things in the Chinese market and so is the reason they are imposing strict rules and that can happen in several countries too.

There's just no real way to ban Bitcoin at the moment being decentralized and all. Regulations will come sooner or later (take it with a pinch of salt) and that might or might not be a bad thing for the cryptocurrency industry as a whole.

Creators anticipated these Bans... they put things in place to ensure everything remains decentralized and difficult to censor or shut down by government, unfortunately "patriotic citizens" of various countries created the unsustainable decentralized exchanges probably to help their government earn bitcoin tax, increase adoption and make trading easy for traders  .
Well, if not for them maybe Bitcoin wouldn't have done so well in terms of price increase but there are reasons rules are made. Breaking lots of rules eventually lead to chaos and uncertainty.

How many times does it need to be said? You can't ban Bitcoin. It simply isn't possible because you inherently cannot destroy the blockchain technology that it is based on (and inside). Sure, you can harm it by taking down the internet, or blocking exchanges, and maybe other methods, but people will continue using Bitcoin like the early days to buy stuff and there is nothing putting people in jail will do to stop it but only make us more willing to use it and grow it.

You are getting paranoid over nothing. China already said they are not banning bitcoin or exchanges, they are only regulating it. And bitcoin cannot be banned, that is tha beauty of decentralization.

The bitcoin banning in China does not have anything to do with the bitcoin on your country. I don't know the real reason why China did it but i guess it is something related to their economy. As we all know Chinese are one of the best in terms of business and maybe they see bitcoin as a threat in their economy or maybe it can be used for illegal transactions like buying sort of drugs. So banning bitcoin still depends on your country, depends on how they perceived bitcoin. Some considers it as a positive opportunity to grow but some just don't want to try new and sticks oo their own.

Actually china has banned ico, not bitcoin. The goverments of china find that the use of ico for economic crime, like money laundering or else, in thw other hand, the exchange of cryptocurrency got the impact for this after the goverments forbid to transaction crypto currency with their own currency. So, it looks like they banned bitcoin, but its not like that.

Dont worry about that sir, for sure many country until supported bitcoun and they did not ban bitcoin exchanges to their country because they want to their citizens to earn money. Even china ban bitcoin exchanges site and price down . For sure it will increase again and it will recover again to the crashwd that happen to it. Everything is will be fine so dont be worry. You ever hear someone trying to ban downloading illegal music, banning free streams online, banning "the internet".  Its just not possible to actually ban it.  Bitcoin is here to stay, the only way to stop it would be to make it worth absolutely nothing and that is just not going to happen.

Buddy, nobody can ban bitcoins. To ban bitcoins, the only way is to ban internet and that is really not possible. China government is actually doing a stupid thing. Do you guys think ,Chinese people will stop trading after this ban? Definitely a big no. Within few days they will find some other way to compensate this ban. 

Yes, most of the traders use these kinds of news to make a lot of money. If people get panic and sell at a loss then these traders will be the happiest guys because after some time they will release a news saying that no ban then again prices will go up and public again buy at a higher price. Don't scare and sell your investments at a loss. 

The news just said that they have banned ICOs and local exchanges. That reflected to the price of bitcoin these passed few days. In my opinion, China just added regulation in using Bitcoin which I think will either be a more serious way in using them along side with the government for the community in the future or totally the end of bitcoin in China ( not possible. I think that most of Chinese people ahave huge population in tradings ang investment ).
I also think that being scared is not necessary because no one can stop it's decentralisation and it's use as a currency. The only thing that they can do is regulate it or manipulate the prices and putting taxes ( worst thing I can think of ).
As long as there is internet Bitcoin is alive. Government itself can not shut down internet because of its main use.
If they are going to ban it, then be it. I'll save without hesitations. I know not all countries will ban it at the same time. Bitcoin will always have a worth.

no one can ban bitcoin, but if a government impose to ban bitcoin then they will loss 3/4 of the country's economic income and market as because together with the ban will be the shutting of the country's internet connection. As of now many country are depended on the internet to sort out things, transaction and payment. so when they ban bitcoin it will be there loss, like china government do, but chinese people will make a way and find anither path to make it open or find ways to trade and invst again. BTC isn't banned in China, they only temporarily suspend exchanges within their territories for the purposes of legalization and legally binding under their management.

There are very few countries that banning bitcoin in the world. I think China is the latest at number 6. Meaning hundreds of countries are still in bitcoin including big countries like USA, Russia,Europe and most countries in Asia. If you are scared then withdraw your bitcoins and altcoins but you must think it carefully because we are hoarding.

It is relieving to read this. Because if the ban of cryptotechnology such as bitcoin continued in china, there will be a huge crash in the part of cryptocurrency exchanges, as china holds 80% of total hash power rate as of to date. Another reason for bitcoin crash is many chinese investors would sell their bitcoin as to avoid huge loss in their part.

I do not forsee that bitcoin will be banned in every country . Bitcoin is one of the curruncies now so It is impossible to ban bitcoin in every aspect. China's situation is very bad but It is China's concern for sure.

Do not be afraid, bitcoin cannot be banned by countries who are trying to manipulate or control it since bitcoin is decentralized no one can control and handle of that. China does not banned bitcoin it is just that they do not use their currency to buy directly the bitcoin.

Yes bitcoin is a online currency and there is no such bad things that bitcoin do and china ban it because for some personal matter they have reason why they do that banning some ICO on their country we should respect it and i think so that there is no such thing that we need to panic and afraid for it.

Bitcoin would not be banned by all countries. Why is that? There are countries that are actively supporting and legalizing bitcoin and even if bitcoin gets banned it cannot stop people who still want to transact and use bitcoin.

It is a good thing in my opinion.All people who are involved in bitcoins for mere profit will be out.You should understand that bitcoins vision is not to give it's hodlers profits but to be accepted as a decentralized means of payment.People will understand this and come back when they get screwed by fiat.I personally want to see bitcoins directly used as a payment instead of an investment.That's the main motive here.

There is no way China can ban BTC. So what if China ban BTC? Other countries legalize BTC, for example Japan. And the Chinese find all ways to buy BTC. BTC never die.  

don't be afraid with those bad news and don't be panic, just stay calm and don't worried. if china banned bitcoin, then I am sure that there will be another country that will accepting bitcoin to their country. bitcoin is not rule by china and beside that, what will happen with the big company in china because they have big mining company and that company can be bankrupt because of banning.

There is no need to be scared, bitcoin can't be banned forever on any part of the world, it is simply because it includes money and many people invested on bitcoin thats why government can't easily disclose the use of bitcoin.

I think it wouldt happen, if bitcoin banned in any country i think it just ban bitcoin from exchanger and spread in public, i think all of people i china can use bitcoin normally and use another exchanger like bittrex or poloniex as their exchange.

If Bitcoin becomes unattractive as a means of profiteering, it won't be able to turn into a means of payment magically. How come? Simply because it sucks massively as a means of payment, as simple as that. Why would people start using it if they can use fiat and be quite happy or content with it? I don't see any possibility or whatever, but one thing will not gonna change bitcoin is here to stay. Agree even if China will ban bitcoin there are still a lot of country that is making bitcoin legalize and others are slowly recognizing it. It is affecting the price of bitcoin as of now though but it will recover soon.

I don't think Bitcoin will be banned in every countries. Because some politicians have surely some Bitcoins. So i don't think they want to self-destroy their Bitcoin and their fortune. Bitcoin can't disappear so easily.

1. It will never be banned in all countries because it's already accepted in some. Japan has accepted it and the EU is completely ok with people owning it. You can register a cryptocurrency business almost anywhere in the world. In the USA, EU, Russia, there's no ban coming, chill!

First and foremost, bitcoin cannot be banned. China themselves even said it, 'we cannot ban bitcoin'. I believe highest any country can do is to control its usage which China is just trying to do presently by controlling all the exchanges available in the country. If the State ban the exchanges and there is no consensus for using it (ie, most merchants will not accept it as currency for trade), it is the same to say that the coin itself was banned, since there it would have no use.

I recall that in 2014 the prosecutor general's office in Russia said that using Bitcoin was a crime since it was a "money substitute." See the OP. There was a leaked report recently that suggested that China might actually attempt to block the Bitcoin network within China, similar to the way they block many western websites today.

What do you mean ban bitcoin? Ban holding bitcoin? Then put you in jail because holding bitcoin? If this case, there will be a huge protests from bitcoin community. I think there are many countries that ban bitcoin doesn't mean ban holding bitcoin. They only ban exchanger that sell bitcoin to fiat. That's make us difficult. However you can make your bitcoin into fiat throuh third party like foreign exchanger . Sell your bitcoin to USD and then change USD to fiat in your country

Not all country are like China, where they have full hold and control in their people, some countries are in fact adopting it and spreading this to their country but I doubt if they can fully ban Bitcoin, Bitcoin only ban icos and not Bitcoin this is the fact, China will always be a part of Bitcoin.

From my own point of view China is clamping down or closing down some of their exchanges were cases of illegality has been taking place which prompted many Chinese traders to sell off their bitcoin which invariably brings down the prices of bitcoin globally, China cannot ban bitcoin because it has no control over it they can only regulate it.

well, it's true Bitcoin ban in china but that doesn't mean's that Bitcoin getting ban in every single country. The majority of countries do not make the usage of bitcoin itself illegal as well as some countries have explicitly allowed it's use and trade, others have banned or restricted it such as China.

I really like your analogy there man, if a lot of people are still using it then Government has no control over it. But I think that is normal for every Government out there to dislike Bitcoin. Because at the end of the day, no one loves something they can not control. And that's also an answer why many people love video game, because they are in full control  ;D

It seems they take off their bill again from this ban so we don't need to about this ban now. Please don't complicate yourself and sell your bitcoins. You have to hold bitcoins with in some weeks again its value will increase to next peak value again. Japanese Government gonna implement the 20 million USD worth of mining plant in their country, This biggest adoption itself will take bitcoin 6K USD worth for 1 btc with in this year ends.

Don't be worry if the bitcoin will get ban in china or getting ban of bitcoin because no one can stop bitcoin and there is a lot of people that are still using and buying bitcoin even there is a chance for the other countries to ban it so i think that if you will take the risk to believe in bitcoin then it will become worth it because in the future the decision of china might changed and they will make bitcoin as a full legal currency.

Don't be scared my friend, it is not the first time when governments are imposing ban and building pressure on bitcoin users. During the past many conspiracies have made to bring it down but every time they failed. The situation is just outburst anger of government and banking mafia towards bitcoin, soon it will cool down. They can't deny the fact that digital currencies are future money of the world and bitcoin is leading it till now and will continue to lead in the future too.

I dont think that will work because people will do it illegal than and it is better to do it the legal way than do it the illegal way that is why it is better not to ban bitcoins because you cannot actually kill bitcoin anymore.

I don't care about that. You must believe that China think they are strong enough and bitcoin will die if bitcoin banned in China, in fact China just create a "massive panic attack" to get a cheap prices. And if bitcoin without China ? will not die.

This would be true if Bitcoin were localized within such a country. But since it isn't, and since most of the world continues to accept and even embrace it, demand won't necessarily be stifled. If global demand continues to rise and thus, price continues to rise, Chinese residents would still have demand for BTC as a store of value.

It doesn't matter what their government says. The government blocks all sorts of websites, and people just circumvent the ban with VPNs. In this case, we're talking about people securing their wealth against a falling native currency. You can't kill that kind of demand with laws.

You can not compare the other countries with china they even have banned facebook. I didn't get surprise when they ban bitcoin. The govt policies seems quite different in china compared to other countries. So the possibilities of following china by the other countries are less.

A big NO, I believed China has a hidden agenda by studying and observing movement of bitcoin and see if they could fully manipulate the bitcoin but i think they probe them wrong because as we can see now at the market trend value bitcoin and altcoin are slowly rising up after their all Chinese investors have fully sell their bitcoins and  i think that is all of them. Now we must be on board to purchase bitcoin now while at cheaper value and hoard again.

Even if China does ban bitcoin it will just raise the demand for get it with ilegal way, the same way people at Argentina does have more then one value for dollars, bitcoin being banned for others countries would push the price up. For other side its possible to those behaviour to damage a bit crypto for a while, because there is no way to stop bitcoin.

I don't think bitcoin can be ban if China has a regulation in terms of cryptocurrency. Yes China has their own rules and regulations somehow it cannot affect other countries about bitcoin. Bitcoin has been stronger until these days and I believe it has more development will happen in the near future.

China's ban on the BTC has a huge impact on the ICO industry here and ico here strongly developed a great influence on BTC.

Correct. But the problem is that other governments might follow in China's footsteps and decide to ban crypto currencies. It is unthinkable for a normal democracy to ban Google, not so unthinkable to ban Bitcoin. They can cite a variety of reasons to do so.

I think there is no way that Bitcoin will be ban as of now as it is an internation digital currency so meaning it can be use by anyone, anywhere at anytime if he/she has an access to the internet and computer. I think it is only regulations for bitcoin within each of the countries that will strengthen their authority regarding cryptocurrenies but they can't really ban it.

People who loves it and want to use it even though it is ban in their country will still find a way if they want it. Many people in power now is taking action against bitcoin because they see it as a threat in their motives. China has not banned bitcoin and has just decided to regulate bitcoin exchanges and issue licenses.BTCC has voluntarily closed its exchange while he other two exchanges Okcoin and Huobi continue to run normally.Its all FUD which is spread to encourage panic selling due to which price fell down to nearly $3,100.But due to strong buy wall,it has immediately recovered and now its price is $3,950.More over,other countries situation is entirely different from china and they won't blindly follow china.So,no need to worry about that.

I agree with your comments that ban on ICO of China can affect bitcoin because china has great influence in bitcoin but it doesn’t mean that such kind of impact may cause death of bitcoin. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency and it cannot be controlled by China completely. I think a bit impact on bitcoin in the market will be for the time being and I hope bitcoin will get raise in his price once again in future. China cannot stop bitcoin.  

Well, some people get scared when bitcoin was banned because they know that it is one of the way to gain and make more money and income. In addition to that, if bitcoin was banned in every single country I think it has negative effect in bitcoin community and users.

Here in my country national banks accepted the use of Bitcoin but they regulated exchanges for anti money laundering or use of any illegal activities. Just don't be scared because there are ways you can still use it even they prohibit the trade of Bitcoins in your country. You might use vpn's or tunneling connections. If all countries arround the world prohibit the use of internet then I can say that it's kinda scary but it is impossible to happen. Well for me yes there is a small chances that Bitcoin will be prohibited in every single country but not to the extent of having a total ban because people can still find ways to use it like  underground trading.

Can someone ban illegal download of movies , music , etc. The only way to stop making it's value worth totally nothing and I guess that's never gonna happen. Good luck!

For computer nerds they may be able to work their way around a ban. As for the regular population and large portion of the Bitcoin population now they would not be able to make their way around the ban. So can Bitcoin be banned? Technically no, but it can be rendered useless by government intervention making common folk unable to use it without facing litigation.

Actually this is what I'm trying to say. Recently we introduced Chinese regulations on crypto exchange, this may effect temporary but will go more strongly. People will use at any cost.

There is absolutely no way that will happen. No government can completely ban bitcoins, They can announce that bitcoin is illegal but still if you have an internet connection and a VPN you can still buy,hold,trade btc. If a gov bans btc completely then that means it has to ban ALL btc wallets, and that is impossible to do.

China situation is different and not all countries see eye to eye like China, USA, Japan are the countries that are using it. Let's say all countries ban it, how will they stop it, there is no legal mechanism to stop Bitcoins, cause it's needs no permission. Plus China just has 10% share now, so it doesn't really matter now. Again I don't think countries will ban it, rather they will adopt it, cause that's the future.

There is possibility that it will happen. But you don't have to worry because I think bitcoin will not get banned in the whole world. Yes some country might ban bitcoin but I think it will affect only the bitcoin price. As you can see there has been an issue about bitcoin in china then the bitcoin price went down but as you can see also it rises up again.

Sure it does possible to be banned in every country, but that is not something that we can prevent, but until now there are only some country that feel Bitcoin is disturbing their country, but don't be too paranoid, just invest what you can afford to lose, and just observe the situation, when you feel something not right you still can take action by selling it

I think they do not like something they do not have control over.  Bitcoin = freedom in a currency, and also the Chinese do not like their citizens taking out their money without government knowing about it (only government officials can do that lol).  They'll support anything that makes them stronger or weakens the U.S., so far they haven't figured that one out yet.  They will definitely use the technology and probably come up with their own altcoin that they can somewhat control.

This ban craze of China never leaves the mind and thoughts of weakhands. Please guys stop whining about this FUD, everyone is sick about the fake news that never gets confirmation from the government. Remember that China banned only ICO's, and only those trading sites that are involved in ICO. Then fake news spreaded, maybe those guys with money really paid the media to spread a FUD so they can really take advantage of the situation because they had already made their profits so they need to buy at cheaper price. There are no official announcement by the government, so as because they knew about it that bitcoin somehow can really help their economy and they have to be careful in regulating it.

It would be very scary if bitcoin is banned but I think if bitcoin is banned people will continue to use it since it is a currency and you can’t stop people from using money every now and then and it is a necessity. But I honestly think bitcoin would not be banned all in all because it is now accepted by different countries.

Theoretically it is possible. And it is practical as well. The United Nations can announce that Bitcoins are linked to the sale of online child pornography. Not even the legendary members of this forum will have the courage to defend Bitcoin in such a situation.

That can't be happening for every country. China is ruled by a communist government like North Korea so they are just trying to discourage people from using any external source of income. They want their citizens to remain dependent on their government instead of being self-sufficient. That is not the case worldwide.

True but government can charge people of illegal stuff if they use Bitcoin.  Honestly government is not attacking Bitcoin directly, they just attack people and establishment that take advantage of Bitcoin.  Look at what the Chinese government did, they did not ban people from holding Bitcoin but rather they ban exchanges that transact with Bitcoin.  And there is this rumor that even p2p transaction will be labeled illegal.

Imagine being able to trade within your wallet fully P2P decentralized. And watch privacy centric coins prices explode.  Not possible to ban. Period.

Those rumors just want to create more doubt on the market, I do not think China can banned Bitcoin on the world, only in this country. Bitcoin also not only for China, it for everyone and everyone can makes money from it.

I think bans won't really matter. People's need will make them ignore those bans and they will come to bitcoin.

In my opinion bitcoin will not totally ban. I think even if our government ban bitcoin we can still use bitcoin. China doesn't ban bitcoin totally.

If you want to look it that way, the bitcoin was regulated all the time in the chineese exchanges. There were different rules for foreigners and chineese citizens. The ban so to say was for the cny. China want to stricly regulate it's own currency. They saw that chineese citizents affect their protected currency cny by transfering btc. They want to stop that. They will put a regulations for their exchanges to be less anonymous, so they can get a knock knock on the unruly citizen that undermine its fascistic take on their curreny.

The government does not control bitcoin! probably in some countries it will be banned, but it is likely to be legalized.

You do not need to worry , bitcoin cannot be ban due to its decentralized feature, so government cannot trace where did the transaction done and made unless the exchange make the move but it is hardly impossible. If you worry about china, so do not, Chinese still using bitcoin circulates bitcoin in their country, the only thing is they cannot buy bitcoin directly by their currency to fiat, that is what Chinese government ban but they can still use bitcoin freely

Not quite.  Bitcoin is PROPERTY, and unless you ban private property there is no way to ban Bitcoin, unless you believe in communism which does ban private property.  Governments control fiat federal money and as such they can attempt to ban or regulate transfers between their respective national currencies in their exchanges, but unless we turn to communism (and communists still do exist and promote such socialistic concepts)there is no way to ban Bitcoin.

There is next to no chance of there ever being a serious Bitcoin ban because it doesn't really have enough of a following for it to make sense, in most countries, and most countries also realize that it makes more sense to tax something like Bitcoin, since it is an economic asset and not any kind of military or intelligence one. If you ever want to rule a country but not have to have to deal with riots and those demanding independence (most of the time), it is far better to get a tax going on the people than to try and control them entirely.

A ban is difficult if not impossible to enforce, especially when it comes to Bitcoin.  However, Bitcoin, its ownership and usage, can be criminalized, just as possessing and using counterfeit currency is criminalized, and the violation of that law could carry legal penalties.  I think that's about as far as any ban could go.

Banning things never ever works anyway. Look what banning drugs did. The opposite pretty much. The war and drugs failed and if there is a ear on crypto it will fail too. Everytime man has ever tried to ban something it's backfired.

It is decentralised, no country can 'ban' it. They can block access to exchanges but there is no way to definitely stop the exchange of the currency via other means.

Countries limiting access to it will affect the price negatively, which is obviously worrying but as with any investment, you have to decide whether it is worth the risk

Then how about Japan? Japan accepted, recognized and legalized Bitcoin then there is a possibilty that every single country will do so. China only bans ICOs but not Bitcoin so why do think that is? I think it is showing a rather good impression and image. It is trying to say that they are trying to get rid those shitcoins while they remain those who are of "value" which is Bitcoin.

A bit confused about the thread starter but Yes I read online that china only bans ICOs and bitcoin local exchanges, but still it will affect more because china is a large country. However this may not affect worldwide as bitcoin already known in most of the countries. We should not be scared of bitcoin getting ban, the most scary thing will happen is if bitcoin value will turn into zero.

Japan is different bro. They embraces bitcoin like no other country did. Although Mt. Gox was one of the biggest heist in our young history, Japan was not deterred by it and you will see that they have totally forgotten that issue. Again, there's no way that a country can ban bitcoin, its unstoppable because many people see at as making money for them, or just another investment portfolio. Countries are banning it because they think its a threat to the economy. However, this is not the case, every country should open their eyes and realizes that bitcoin has many uses and advantages. Not a Ponzi scheme and definitely not a scam.
