Ripple XRP has finally overtaken BitcoinCash BCH based on their market capitalization and claimed #3 spot on coinmarketcap today.

It's only a game of numbers and I don't see anything significant there.

I would say these events can be significant:
- BCH or XRP fall out of top 10
- BCH or XRP gets to no. 2

This is comparing volume with worth and for me, that's not the way it works from the look of it, even though the volume of Ripple is much more than BCH it does not mean it Worth's more because if you check the relative in dollar worth, you then realize that its just numbers as the earlier poster have said and nothing significant is happening over there. None at all.

finally it is happening. waiting for this volume for a long time. let's see what is this volume bringing to us.

Both ripple and bitcoin cash are still far away from the leaders-bitcoin and ethereum.
I find it a little bit strange that some altcoin which price is 0.17 USD has around 6.7 billion market cap and it`s above litecoin.Perhaps some big whale is pumping ripple XRP or bitcoin users are buying ripple with the money from the btc they have sold during the panic selling.

It is just a matter of time. Crypto currencies are liquid in nature and the prices are very dynamic. It can go from any 100 to 1000 within a very short period of time. So we can't really judge whether it can recover or not and when. The crypto currency market is bleeding worldwide and the price is changing in every moment. So I believe, we need some more time to recover, but yes, we will surely recover from the current situation.

Bitcoin Cash is the Chinese Bitcoin, with bitcoin ban in China there's no good reason for it to have such high valuation.

It isn't used by anyone and it doesn't have anything better over bitcoin.

If you do try to look at on the overall circulating supply x on its current price it would sum up on its total market cap. Gets? Knowing that the supply of BCH is just 16m coins as of now and xrp do have hundreds of millions but well I don't really have too much interest on these coins though. but for those people who do have the funds I can say these coins are really good for shorting.

This can be very important news for all altcoin users, this mean Ripple will take important part in the whole altcoin market and everybody can start to think to buy/sale Ripple for profit. But THE PROBLEM is that Ripple do not overtaken BitcoinCash, you can check here https://coinmarketcap.com/. BitcoinCash is in 3th place and Ripple is in 4th place.  ;D

I don't really know what's next for either of the two altcoins. I think the main reason ripple went back to the 3rd spot is the fact that ripple's marketcap just lost less volume than bitcoin cash'.

Observing this, I can say that Ripple is only getting volume in the market. It's value is still not that satisfying for people that like to hold some king of altcoins. And yes, BCH might get close to other altcoin prices, as this hit in the cryptocurrency world made every coin less valuable. Let's see who recovers from it.

I dont think so, bcc is pure centralized coin. I can't imagine how this coin pumps without any business model. Did anyone use this coin for transactions. The new segwit btc is enough for me.

I don't really think it would be able to recover but if ever it does then it's okay. I just think Ripple has much potential than Bitcoincash. Not really a supporter of both coins but that's just my opinion though.

I don't think so that ripple has overtaken the bitcoin cash. It's just the circulating supply that has made it go to third place I guess. I don't see any competition in the two because one is centralised and the other is decentralised one. They could fluctuate in two different ways and can hold two different prices at any point. Doesn't matter at all due to their base of working in the market.


It's just that bitcoin cash is too way high in the selling price and I don't think ripple is in any way getting there. It will take a lot of time even to reach hundred dollar value.

Bitcoin cash will fall more. It iis a forked currency so may be will loose interest over time.

both of them are going down that very moment though. it didn't overtake BCH, its just that BCH dips drastically besides there were no  news no catalyst lifting XRP price. there were just XRP holders that grip harder with great expectations.

I remember buying XRP multiple times but it just kept getting lower. So yeah, got a few bucks stuck in it. Sure, it's got a really large volume but that's not enough for me to be able to cash em out with profit.

Ripple already have almost 53 mln market cap. Looking to the amount of bank transactions I would say that Ripple's price won't get a significant pump. But BCH is widely used for speculations so it will definetely increase it's market cap in some times. But anyway those cryptos are too different to compete with each other.

Ripple is an altcoin, just talk about it in altcoins - its also probably one of the worse cryptos as just a centralized pile of dung nobody actually uses. Bcash is kinda an altcoin also but cant say i wasn't pleased with it giving me extra bitcoins.  But yeah overall just dump your ripple bag OP and support something with better social change potential :)

the SWELL is very interesting though.
XRP isn't just an altcoin. its a platform too just as how SWELL team took advantage of.
if this is going to work out well for ripple, we might see this shoot up and most probably those who kept spreading the fear will eventually join the pump.

The only basis for this ranking is the total marketcap of that specific coin. As to what I know regarding the marketcap, they are not necessary when it comes to cryptocurrencies. It is just a mere multiplication of the circulating number of coins and its current price. So this does not justify anything at all. Maybe the percentage of acceptance will be a good basis for this ranking and not the marketcap.
