Bch currently sits at 0.12btc. I initially bought in to day trade, which it went up to my goal on the day. However I held it, I'm not good at taking long positions and I've lost about a third so far. I'm unsure whether to cut my losses or hold. Anyone with a technical analysis or an opinion on whether or not I should cut? Anyone in the same boat?

just wait for a week or around that,i think we should see an exit pump.
in the next few days we will see another bullrun for Bitcoin and top cryptocurrency will be back shortly after.
and a few week before a hardfork we will see a pump for the alts and then Bitcoin pumping.
that is the right time to cut your loses,i believe we can hit 0.15 again in the next week or around that.
but do not sell it right now,it's 40%++ loses man.just keep it for now and wait for it,
at least you can sell it at 0.15++ later on other than sell it right now.

Just wait for it, there will be the time that it will sit back at 0.2 BTC. Anyway is this the only coin you have now? I'm now a BCH holder and I'm still not selling the BCH I have because I'm expecting some more good pumps in the near future. I just do nothing and the same thing with what I do on my bitcoins, I'm holding it until I witness another price peak before selling it. The decision is still in your hand but I advice, wait for some more time.

i think it's better to hold it for a while, rumors this month caused panic and made a price drop in the market, maybe this week there will be recovery at least BCH can go up to 0.14 - 0.16 BTC

The real test is whether bitcoin does a second hard fork in November, and that drama will likely make people rush into bitcoincash. Plus there is bound to be a pump of BCH at some point (the backers of the coin will ensure it).

Sell now and seek another coin to buy for decreasing the ravage

It is hard to recover if you see its chart for now and you may earn it back if you sell it now and spend it in other low price now before the price correction go back to normal. It is not worth to wait and hold, how long you will wait if you wait for that price. Sell it now and cut loss.

Sometimes, people always regret what they buy because they are thinking that it will going to be wasted and they much thinking of money than what they buy. It is matter of unpatience, uncareful and unresourceful person who are when you always regreting something without knowing the whole specifications of that coins before you buy. In trading you can't become successful when you don't know hows that coins where to be in the future. You must always wise enough on it. If that your case then I think you must hold that coins and don't focus right now you must focus in the future.

i don't believe BCH will hit more price. they are trying to collect BCHs and make it stabile but it is very hard.

I'm still not selling because I'm expecting some more good pumps in the near future  ???

I bought in at about 0.185BTC. One of my beginner purchases. It pumped back to 0.2BTC but I got greedy and waited for it to pump again. Then the steady decline and the last pump to 0.195 I missed because I was asleep.  ;D  Now I'm just waiting for that pump to 0.15~0.16BTC then I would sell at a loss. Although I might also wait for the November btc hardfork since there may be a huge shift to BCH if people don't want segwit2x.

I think BCH will reach >$1000 USD again in the future, it is only a matter of time.  Patience my friend...

Looks you were buying it at the high price, As far as i know i will choose the shit coin like the assets token to do a day trade rather than the major coin with a little volatility such as bitcoincash, and cut loss may become a better for you as long as you can try to put the amount in other side to do a day trade. to recover your lost.

Maybe you should look at it in terms of $ value, not BTC. Might help lower the mental anxiety.

For instance, if you bought the start of August top 0.2BTC was worth around $540, so pretty close to what it is now ($512 right now). Trade out, call it a small loss, research day trade coins and try again.

If you bought the mid-August top, it was worth around $825 so you've got a tougher decision...hodl and check back in a while...or trade out and call it a learning experience.

That depends on you whether to hold or not. You can decide it based on your principle amount.
If the amount you invested is high that means that you will be suffering from quite a big loss and in that case the better thing to do would be to hold. If the amount you invested is low then the loss will also be low and in that case you could sell your coins to minimize the loss.
If you don't want to go through any loss then the only thing you can do is hold until the price recovers.

You never know when will some coin be pumped and dumped, especially if already been in focus of many investors. Those coins didn't disappeared they changed the hands only. If you are been caught in this game, you do not have much choice, sell or wait.  My advice always is to wait. Coins have their cycles and if you wait you can pass those coins to someone else at some point. My opinion that this is totally pointless coin won't change fact that people love trades and manipulations..So if you apply basic principles of greed you can know what gonna happen next.

You should keep holding it and sell if bch goes above your buy price or reach the goal you had in mind. It still has a lot of potential in it and keep in mind that bch is forked from btc and is in the list of the top coins in coinmarketcap so it is unwise to just sell at a loss right now. My opinion on it right now is that it will be like etc for ETH so it will always have a value and is not just a shitcoin.

I believe bch has its own fans and it's not easy to collapse, but it's better to sell bch to buy coins like, dashcoin, lite, or even bitcoin, they can give you a bigger and more stable profit, I've long sold bch, and not be affected by whatever is attached to them, it is better to move and keep moving forward.

Your first mistake was buying BCash. Why would you do that? As a Legendary member, I assume that you had a decent amount of Bitcoin, which means you received a decent amount of BCash. Well you should have dumped that when the situation was right, get your profits and leave. I don't understand why anyone would gamble by buying BCash, a coin that is a mess since day 1 and is mined by someone that we don't even know (possibly Craig Wright) which owns more than 50% of the hashrate. Why do this to yourself?

Never lose Bitcoin with shitcoin trading. I guess hold until there's a pump and then dump it, or just take what you have already and forget about it.

I think you should hold bitcoin cash as you hold your bitcoin or ethereum. Noone can really guess what is going to happen with that one fork coin. You may regret to sell in future.

It depends on your principles, I personally hold it. I think it could not be a bitcoin or take place of bitcoin but it is very good coin indeed. You should definitely hold it.

based on the two numbers you gave us, you have already lost 41.46% of your investment! that is not a wise way of investing in anything. you should seriously learn about what stop loss means.

you buy something and if it loses a percentage that you are not happy with (like 10%) you dump it and stay out until it reaches the bottom. unless you think 10% is the end of the line and is the bottom which obviously is not about BCH and it went lower.

right now it is too late though. if it is not such a huge investment you may continue holding. who knows maybe you got lucky.

If you bought it at a peak price then you should just hold it, I'm not a fan of BCH but I think in trading you should wait for the coins to go at its lowest and buy them and then sell them when its at its highest price or if you think you already gained profit from the increase.

Unless you feel you need it for something urgent, I would not advise selling now after buying at that price. Just chill and hold for long term if you do not really need it now. However, if you are a trader, note the last highest peak from the chart and the trend and see if you can sell at that point. Hopefully it comes down again and you can buy more. If you do this gradually, you may end up at least recovering your losses.

You are the first person I've heard of buying BCH. I dumped mine around 0.18 and never looked back.

I could suggest you to post selling order on the price you bough it and wait. But may need to wait a lot. If you are OK with a small loss, put selling orders on 0.17-0.18. This is a pick price from time to time.

Why would you hold this coin? honestly, i dont see any future for bitcoin cash, there is no way the price could be equal than Bitcoin, it is impossible.. bitcoin cash is an useless coin, it does not have any features, any usage, nothing. It was free money that came from the sky, why are you still holding it? dump them and buy profitable coins with that money, that is the best move.

I am not optimistic but I would wait. I do not believe in bch but, when there is atleast a bit space for hope, I never sell at loss.

I do not really like BCH because of excessive instability. However, I will not be able to negate the future of the BCH because China will make BCH catch up BTC in the future. I do not hope so because with me altcoin can't compare to Bitcoin; but China they will do. I think you should keep!

Hold.  Forget about it for a while and obsess over another coin for a while.  That's what I do. Just check upon it every so often.
