I personally am sick of it. I have chosen my coin. Unless its ground breaking ill look the other way  :-\

I agree, dont have the time to keep up with all of them so I switched back to bitcoin for the old "set it and forget it" method..

me too.. i did a little nibble cause of the 'fair' launch.. and frc cause of the new diff algo.. but im back to the gold standard now.. btc

this great deluge that is upon us will purge the land of its impurities by giving rise to new and superior breeds....

the vast majority will be useless but among these additions will come a truly innovative cryptocurrency...

its evolution at its peak. really it's survival of the fittest right now.

I was about to post the same thing but didn't bother.  Thank you.  I've given up on these coins.  Too many to deal with.  They are nearly all useless.  Nothing significant in any of them.

This is good opportunity for the noob to practice solo mining....  This is all that it's good for.

Here's a thought.  What about a "consolidated coin"?

This forum has become completely splintered.  DGC v. WDC v. GLD v. everyone.  etc. etc. etc.  What if there was a single alt-coin (besides LTC of course) that the entire community could rally around?

What if a new coin was created, that took the best ideas of all of these coins. 
This new coin had 1,000,000 coins premined. 
People could trade in their DGC, WDC, GLD, etc. for the pre-mined consolidated coin.  The traded in coins would then be destroyed. 

The mechanics of trading in the alt-coins could be debated.  The rate at which the coins could be traded in for could also be debated. 

This is just a back of the napkin type sketch of an idea right now. 

Does anyone have an opinion on this?  It would hopefully help bring the community back together, and then the community as a whole could give a big "F-You" to anyone that tried to create a new scam coin.

only a week ago I was happy with the pool of alt coins out there.....but now the last few days its ramped up a gear...getting crazy.

Thanks for 1375th thread with similar subject. You might consider Facebook next time though as these threads are bit more annoying and unoriginal than new coins.

I think netcoin is going to be an excellent coin.  I don't think anyone would dare try to classify it as a "scam coin". 

But what I'm thinking about it, consolidating all the coins in existence now, into a single coin.  The hashrate would be astronomical, and the exchange value of it, would be much higher than the splintered coins that we have now. 

Most people support their coin of choice, not because they think its a great coin, but because they have alot of those coins, and they don't want all their mining effort to be wasted by that coin failing.  But with this proposed system, their efforts wouldn't be thrown away, they could actually trade in all of those coins for a better coin supported by mostly everyone.

been watching it all day. can't decide what to do with my ~53 remaining DGC.

These alts perform the valuable service of keeping hash off of LTC and BTC. Otherwise LTC diff would be 1000 and pointless to mine for those who don't have parents to pay the bill.

i'm not sure yet. DGC's fast confirmation times could lend it an advantage over other altcoins. think i'll keep them for now

Actually I was hoping a poll would show these devs that people have lost interest. Hopefully they will stop or at least try to bring some innovation. I have not seen a poll with the same subject.

I had really hoped these pointless clones would stop coming out, it seems the flood refuses to abate, but at least they aren't getting the attention that some of the earlier ones like Feathercoin and Chinacoin got.

I think we need to push in Litecoin, we will need a great scrypt coin for the moment when the asics come.
I think all we can do is help the people who made litecoin to rise it. Litecoin was long time profitable, then come feathercoin and another Altcoins that make litecoin poor.
I think litecoin is the future for we, the GPU miners.
