I should have received my payment 24 hours ago and it still says 0 confirmations.. What is happening? Depending on the specifics of the transaction, it is theoretically possible that it will never be confirmed. More likely it could take several days. Are you willing/able to share the transactionID? If so, I could give you more information about why the network is requiring the fee and what is likely to happen. Do you know what wallet the sender uses? If they use https://blockchain.info/wallet , the transaction will expire if it isn't confirmed in the next day or two. Then the funds will revert back to the senders wallet. Post by: alchimista on May 29, 2013, 09:12:30 AM I won't share the txID without permission from the other user: anyway, all the addresses seems correct.
I don't know what's the client the sender's using. I will tell when he logs back. Anyway, could this be some kind of fake/double-spent Tx? Title: Re: Unconfirmed transaction after 24 hours? Post by: Stephen Gornick on May 29, 2013, 07:36:24 PM Anyway, could this be some kind of fake/double-spent Tx? You could tell that right away using Blockchain.info as it will show double spend information for the transaction if there appears to be any spending conflicts. After a period of time, pools will forget about transactions (as they can age out of the memory pool as it fills) so what needs to occur is for the sender to re-broadcasdt the transaction occasionally. The Bitcoin-Qt/bitcoind client will do this forever. Other clients may vary in the frequency of re-broadcast. Some E-Wallets (including Blockchain.info/wallet) sometimes seem to no re-broadcast transactions that are older and haven't confirmed (and thus the funds become available for spending once again). That doesn't happen often, but it happens enough to be in the range of possibilities explaining why an unconfirmed transaction might not ever get a confirmation. |
