Seems like an interesting project, the Whitepaper looks good at a glance.  I wonder how this compares to Combicoin?  They seem to be similar projects. I think the idea of a crypto index fund makes a lot of sense, so I'm not surprised to see them start popping up.

I am also quite surprised at how little discussion is happening here. The pre-sale ended with almost $5m raised and yet, we're still on page 1 of the ANN.

I think how it compares to Combicoin: Most importantly it only invests in top 20 coins vs top 30, and Crypto20 does rebalancing weekly as opposed to monthly. I think a fairer comparison could be made with http://www.bittwenty.com/, which has been up and running for quite a while already.

Same here! The ICO is going for quite a while, so a bounty campaign for translation might well be worth it (I could do German).

I have asked here, on reddit and via Email sans response. So my feeling is they want to go ahead without a dedicated community campaign.

I doubt the team will even join the forums, I've seen the counter running on the website, ICO is already running and it seems they are active on other platforms and just used BitCoinTalk to extend the information to just another place (Without the acknowledgement that BitCoinTalk can be an high traffic platform if the team would have been active)

Serious question if someone is following here.

The current ICO funds are held in BTC, ETH and LTC. Now, assuming the overall market trend is bearish until the end of the ICO would mean that the NAV will be substantially lower (let's say $0.7 than the $1.05 or 1.10 that ICO participants will have to pay for each token.

Would it be unreasonable to assume that, in this case, some ICO participants who assume a prolonged bear trend might want to cut their losses post-ICO and market sell for less than the ICO prices?

What do you guys think? Sensible to hedge your bets and do 50% now and 50% once it hits exchanges?

Follow-up question: As I understand it, token holders can liquidate directly on the C20 platform for current NAV and C20 will then sell these tokens on exchanges to refill the fund. What are the guidelines for setting the price for these tokens on exchanges? Will it be market price or premium over NAV?

Which currency will be accepted during the ICO?

When viewed from the roadmap, this project is well prepared and hopefully this is in line with expectations

Is there proof of a working trading/History of profit/lose that you will be working with?

Just so us as investers can see what sort of return we may look at/ see that you have a working trading concept that works.

Quick question regarding the pricing: At the current level the price of one C20 is $1.10. So that means that I am paying a 10% premium for the token, correct?

Further, only 87% of the received amounts are used to buy the underlying coins (the rest goes to marketing, legal, team etc). So down another 13%, correct?

Taking the above two together, for every dollar I invest, I am only getting 77% worth of the underlying coins. Or is my thinking flawed?

They get 13% from every dollar that is invested, as only 87 of tokens created are distributed. Plus, the price of the last week is 1,10$ for a token that is worth 1$. Plus there is a 0,5% management fee. Pretty good cut for them I reckon...

So can anyone explain how an Ethereum token (crypto20) will be priced? It "should" represent the underlying value in the fund of top20 cryptocurrencies, but how do they manage to keep the crypto20 coin at a certain price? Is it like a stock / ETF?

I think you might be too late - the token sale ends today, and after that no more tokens are sold, so your only chance will be to buy them on an exchange.

What about storing coins? Do you use cold storage? If yes, then there are signed proofs you of your cold storage funds? How do you manage risks of using exchanges for rebalancing?

Price is now $1.82 (i have almost doubled my money in a month) , also you will find that the fee of .05% is a hell of a lot cheaper than other managed index funds - normally you are looking at 2.5-4% for securities. As no new token will be distributed anymore, how will the team earn money in 2018. Only with the management fee of 0.05%. The fund value is 80Mio$. With a management fee of 0.5% they will only earn 400,000$. That is not sustainable at least for paying the salary of the whole team.

I did the same calculation and came to the conclusion, that with the raising fund value (=assumption) plus the initial take from the ICO, in addition to the low cost of actually running a smart contract it seams feasible to me.

0,05 would be 5%, not 0,5%.

There is just the normal "problems" that all exchanges are dealing with, that is the sharp increase in user numbers, which Hitbtc is struggling with. All in all, I am a long-time user and it is working pretty well most of the time.

you are right there is a better price on bibox and a nice trading volume. never traded there don't know if it's a good exchange

I have used Bibox once for another trade and it all went pretty smooth (although the deposit took much longer than on other exchanges).

Interesting point, but how do you calculate that C20 is doing worse than ETH? For me, the diversification into different assets is worth a lot, even if - depending on the time frame you look at - performances will vary. I believe that a basket of tokens will outshine a single investment in the long run (be it C20 or a good DAA from Iconomi etc).

Well its doing worse than ETH because the price C20/ETH is lower than the ico price actually.. Personnaly I will try to get back my ETH and hold it for airdrops

OK, I see. Of course there are different strategies fro investing. You will of course always find a coin that outperforms a basket of coins. The trick is to find the right one. So I think that a diversified portfolio will mitigate the risk. C20 for instance performed better than BTC and worse than ETH. If we only knew tehse things beforehand...

so what's the strategy here, because it seems even holding bitcoin is more profitable than this. where they discuss the weekly distribution I would like to see their reflexion because when market is red we are loosing to btc and when its green we are loosing to btc/eth also..

yeah I saw it and didn't invest in. too many projects like this saying all the same but none has those magic super expert results.. and After 2 years of being in crypto almost every project saying initially that there will be dividents, is finally changing to buy/burn and I don't like it ofc

new listings won't change anything to the price of this token, it's more like a security token for hodlers to "lose with the market"
personnaly I will try to sell it at the ico price to get back my ETH or XRP, I expect them to pump better than other top20
