Because we custom-manufacture jewelry, you choose the size, the metal (white or yellow gold, platinum, palladium, etc) and also whether you want to add accent stones like white sapphires or diamonds or rubies or any other gemstone.

I think it's Rhinoceros.

Jewelry design is so simple. I could do that with a copy of 1992 Modeler 3D ;)
I haven't done 3D work in over a decade when I was using Lightwave 3D. I would like to get into this type of thing again designing artwork and toys. Now that STL is becoming affordable, this would be fun as a hobby.

The software is Rhino-based- Matrix 3D

http://www.gemvision.com/html/products/matrix/matrix.html (http://www.gemvision.com/html/products/matrix/matrix.html)

It is the gold standard in custom jewelry these days.  I am not sure that it is easy- I know someone who has been drawing on CAD for over ten years and he found the program to be very difficult to use- it took him about a year to get proficient with it.  My current artist is in the Ukraine- he started with Matrix and he is superb.  Jewelry seems to be difficult for most people who have done other kinds of CAD and I am not sure why.

Here are some cufflink drawings and renderings:

These are available in 10K gold, 14K gold, 18K gold, palladium, or platinum.

And yes- we ship almost anywhere.  My wife and I live in Thailand and Ohio- but we are mostly in Thailand these days.

If you want platinum we pour both 900 and 950 platinum- just ask for details and an estimate!

What metals do you work with, and can you make complicated 3D shapes?

This doesn't look right.  Google "Bitcoin vector artwork".  Specifically, the letter B on the Bitcoin logo should have a slanted (diagonal) stroke on the bottom left corner of the letter, which should not be parallel to the same stroke on the top left corner.  This one has them both parallel.

I can make this with the slant- no problem.  The CAD files are just examples- any modifications desired can be implemented per the client's needs.

is there any way to inject a private key hidden away somehow?

Out of pure curiosity, what would the ring cost once it is made out of  palladium.

Rough estimate is enough

Saintflow- I can give you a wild guess.  Perhaps $850?  What we would have to do is make a model of the ring in your size and weigh the model.  The resin material of the model has a fixed density, so a mathematical relationship between the weight of the resin and weight of the palladium is easy to figure.  Since that tells us the amount of palladium we will use, we will then know the cost.  Of course sterling silver plated with rhodium would be much cheaper, and gold or platinum would be more expensive.

As for the private key- we may be able to laser-engrave it on the bottom of the coin inside the ring.  I have never tried this before- not sure.

Are these for sale now?  What are prices like?

Title: Re: Bitcoin jewelry in the womb...

Hi RaggedMonk, yes- these are for sale now.  My wife Melanie and I are custom jewelers and all of the jewelry that you see on this thread was drawn by our CAD artist.  We can modify it in any way that you wish, and can produce it in most common jewelry materials like sterling silver, white or yellow gold (14K, 18K, 22K), palladium 950, or Platinum 900 or 950.

We don't have a price list because we don't know the weight of a finished piece of jewelry to fit you.  If you want a copy of our policies and procedures just ask- this includes information on the fees incurred for each step in the process.  Most of the cost of a ring would be in the weight of the metal- except for silver because that is the most economical material.  In that case, making the model of your ring to cast (including the CAD design) is the most costly component.  Some people shy away from silver because it tarnishes, but we simply plate it with rhodium- just like white gold and platinum are plated with rhodium- and that problem is solved.

Let me know if you have any questions!
