Title: GPU power consumption Post by: ORabbit on May 29, 2013, 06:27:13 PM Hello. I'm mining with a 7870 right now. I'm getting about 440 Mhash/s and GPU-Z is telling me it's pulling ~80 watts.

Aside from a Kill-A-Watt. maybe gpu shark in detailed mode? http://www.ozone3d.net/gpushark/ It tell you your current TDP max and the percentage that is being used. Google your card TDP specs and add ~+20% if you overclocked it. After you will know how much electricity your card uses.

It's also not just the GPU that consumes watts, there are lots of factors, power supply efficiency, background tasks on your computer, type of CPU, etc.

Mine doesnt even use that at 100% overclocked, mine use roughly 190 watts - 210.
