well i think so too. i am also wondering that someday more and more altcoin will come out having this kind of idea but in different purposes and uses. well nothing is impossible and if it will happen then it would be nice depending on the outcome.

Instead of sending paper money (which could be costly, by the way) into the space, the cryptocurrency might be a solution to that. For this matter there is scientific paper "Extra-Terrestrial Applications of Blockchains and Cryptocurrencies" written by Kartik Hegadekatti (Government of India): https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2882763, which includes some interesting points of significant coin use related to the space travel.

Apparently, Ilon Mask or other businessmen who privately develop space exploration programs do not need investments and digital coins that would provide this kind of business. It is also quite possible that these individuals have not yet considered this possibility. In general, it would be an interesting coin and it would deserve close attention.

The paper mentions an interesting point - colonializing Moon or Mars for Earth and use "Smart Mining" with cryptocurrency as money exchange system. It's for sure out of my freaking mind!

well as of now its still in a development stage but who knows maybe they already planning to create another project which can be adopt

No. Crypto currency and space exploration pretty much have nothing to do with each other. All these people are doing is making money for themselves. There are very few charity threats out there and very through charity products and are even fewer that are putting their money into any type of research. If this is something you think needs to be done then created the coin your self.
