The ICO's and community are forming around Ethereum versus Ethereum Classic.  That is what gives ETH its value.  A year ago, the ETH market cap peaked at above 20% of ETH.  Today it is under 5%.  Similar expectation for BCH versus BTC.

I'm not really sure myself, but am interested as well in what people think.  If I had to guess, I think the high runs may be over, but we'll see.

I actually doesn't had interest about this coin but i thought this coin still had hope and wouldn't die. At least this coin better than xzc or ripple.

Not entirely similar because ETC is the original one. ETH is the fork. It just so happened that the people backing up ETH are so influential. And some main actors behind the group are siding with ETH. But ETC will not die for sure. I am even investing some on it. The coin is much much more valuable as compared to so many shitcoins.

I don't think it will die, it still has a huge marketcap - so lots of people still holding, and volume at $20m - far from dead

Including the original developer.  Technically you're right but by all accounts ETC even existing is something of an unintended fluke of the DAO.

I still have a lot of hope for the classical ethereum, we can see in market cap the price continues to compete with other altcoin,
and the volume is very large.

Is ETH type ICO is really posible on ETC chain or it requires some update?

ETC is the conservative group of ETH or also often called the supporter of largest cryptocoin theft. It has nothing to make it better than Ethereum.

Most of the value is always in the dominant fork that is Ethereum in this case.
There are hardly few ICOs or projects on Ethereum Classic so it will go up only if a huge
crypto rally comes that lifts all boats. Plenty of better choices to put your money.

nope, i personally dont see any way ETC being more successful inthe long-term than ETH. short term you can make profin on trading

I haven't seen much community interest toward ETC. Really don't know, I've been staying away

Ethereum Classic is nominated to be driven up by the new exchange offering that BTCC has launched ( ‘pure crypto-to-crypto exchange’ in BTCC DAX), but I think ETC is still a long way off from surpassing ETH.

Even though it's got a fairly significant market cap, I just don't see the point to it. The community is dead. I'm looking on their sub on reddit and they're implying stuff like etc getting mentioned in some local newspaper from a third world country (no disrespect here) is worth getting all worked up about.

No one is going to use it because if it gets big probably they would end up ethereum road of forking

It's a tough competition out their. Specially in the sidechain market. Ethereum hardly is getting 50%+ projects and there's a very little space for classic techs.

There are every expectation I have in ethereum now
Because it's so popular in the market. And the competition with Altcoin continues and it's too big.

bitcoin is not stable and create daily high. so we could not ques future of any altcoin. all coin are down daily this is very dangers time to buy and trading in altcoin. Ethereum Classic is part of ETH. this coin not die anytime. Ethereum Classic take some time to rise when bitcoin stable. Ethereum Classic is include top market in coinmarketcap and we can faith in this coin. 100% hope success of this coin but passion and hold for long time.

It is amazing that ethereum classic never replaces the ethereum as we thought it would. Everybody that loves decentralization  was in support of the ideals that brought ethereum classic to be. Now it is obvious ethereum classic is never going to be ethereum. The folk was only used for pump and dump!

It may not be functioning really well today. But I do still hope that Ethereum Classic will finally come out into the open soon, aggressive and successful. This is a good coin that is worth investing. The team is still out there performing good jobs to promote Ethereum Classic more. The problem is that they cannot move forward with big strides because Ethereum is getting much of the attention nowadays. Even Waves are having a hard time promoting themselves as well as their tokens.

I think it might rise like the Bitcoin classic. there is a benefit to follow. Of course, investing Ethereum will be more accurate.

ETC is nothing, its like BCH of today. Both of them are clones created to compete with their origins (BTC and ETH). There are hundreds of coins already built using ETH,  but never heard of coin created using ETC.

just asking...

Ethereum classic is not going to rise like bcc. The condition that support these two clones are different. For now and in future, the first mover advantage has been forever claimed by ethereum in smart contract, especially now people think ethereum is a veritable alternative to bitcoin

all altcoin is burned down right now. the value is affected by bitcoin value that not stoping rising. i believe etc will come back eventually but i dont know when. maybe after bitcoin cooldown or droping.

Small chances that it's going to be big, when the first time out etc seems so lively, a lot of price movement and the transaction volume is not bad, but now,I haven't seen any significant movement,  I do have a big hope that etc is going to be revive but I am doubt it could happened

i still have hope for ethereum classic and i think the price for ethereum classic will be increase more than we can see now. i think ethereum classic and the other altcoins can increase after bitcoin makes correction price or there is a bad news for bitcoin that makes all altcoin increase. i still keep my ethereum classic in offline wallet and in exchange so if the price is back increase, i can sell it to make profit and if i sell now, i can make profit too but not too much so i need to waiting for a while after the price is increase.

No, there is not any hope left for Ethereum Classic. Only hope is pump and dump, so you can sell your bags at any pump.

I do not understand why people have hope about ETC. There is the original one Ethereum, and lots of other smart contract coins out there. Why would you invest something that forked like Bitcoin Diamond.

I think investing into Ethereum Classic is like investing in Bitcoin Diamond.

A lot of people don't know that 30% of the coins are owned by the Dao hacker.

The only hope is that it will grow with the market for some time, but sooner or later everyone will leave this asset like it was supposed to be at the time of hardfork.
Possibility that a good team will join the development and implement some revolutionary features is close to zero.
