I admire people thinking about what will happen in the future and prepare some precautionary plans for it. keep it up but still use dollars for you daily needs ;D

BTW, if you don't mind me giving advice, I suggest you also stock up on liquors. Those things last for a freakin long time that you don't have to worry about them degrading. There also seem to be a trend in stockpiling whiskey, so you may get some profits even without the economic collapse. Wine also earn profit if you for it right, collapse or not. You should try to diversify your portfolio as much as possible though, "don't keep all your eggs in one basket" and all that. I like saving too and banks are generally safe, in a doomsday scenario however - a bank could be a bad place to have your investments because the government can take it over to prevent all withdrawals. Also, short term this would help you survive - long term silver might not have any practical value to other people if society has fallen.
