https://gizmodo.com/sec-gets-hacked-refuses-to-release-details-about-just-1818613595 (https://gizmodo.com/sec-gets-hacked-refuses-to-release-details-about-just-1818613595) the SEC has just recently been hacked which means that it's possible that information about all publicly traded companies listed with them has also been hacked and may possibly be leaked to the Future, this does not directly affect the cryptocurrency realm or its economy but there's no doubt in my mind that a trickle-down effect will eventually impact us from this event... how do you see it affecting you? This is not going to affect me personally, but just wanted to say how impressive it is what hackers are able to do these days. A single person can still exert such incredible force over large companies simply by finding zero-days that no one else knows about and from this alone can make millions. Just look at what recently happened to Equifax. We are talking about BILLIONS worth of damages here done by a single group of people. Title: Re: SEC Hack, what does it mean to you? They got information about publicly traded companies, so they may be able to manipulate trade activities somehow. We don't know about it yet, as SEC refuse to give further information, only time will reveal the truth. Title: Re: SEC Hack, what does it mean to you? #1 It was an independent job. #2 It was carried out by a group that is state sponsored, by a government(north korea, china, russia, etc). #3 It was an inside job executed by SEC employees or intelligence agencies(CIA, FBI, NSA, etc). Post by: VegaAISolutions on September 23, 2017, 06:21:10 AM we're certainly in a scary situation right now, just think about it if the government can be compromised at that high of a level it's most likely already compromised and every other area and it's just a matter of time until somebody points it out... uncertain times we live in it makes me happy that I invest in cryptocurrency.
