Title: How to push your own TX with a local node.

So if I am running a node from my desktop, can I push my own TX instead of using a web based version?

Yes. If your node is Bitcoin Core (or is based on it), you can open the debug console (Help > Debug Window > Console) and use the sendrawtransaction command.
