Title: Bitcoin Cashcard - not based on Visa or Mastercard
Post by: Fidemoga on September 23, 2017, 07:11:43 AM
I am wondering, if a cash card could exist, where Bitcoins can be cashed out, that is not connected to Visa or Mastercard.

I think it does not exist, why do you want to know about it? Do you also live in a country that is on the list of restricted countries?

You can use this option:

[ANN] Mistertango - Bitcoin friendly European Bank Account + free MasterCard
 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1972805.0)

according to them can send plastic card to any country, how do they do it? I do not know and I have not had the opportunity to use their service yet

As at today, we can reliably conclude that there is no other major option aside those two but there is one alternative over here but I don't know if its applicable in other countries. Its called verve card, on checking now realised its available in only few countries and thats just the only option even virtually all other payments platforms, fiverr, payoneer, all bitcoin ATM cards rely on either of these two options but we are still waiting for a breakthrough on this.

That sounds interesting. Would be great, if other options will be opened. Will have a look at verve card. Thanks a lot.
Edit: Do you have a link to it? I only found one, that is based on mastercard.

I don't think one exists. Visa and Mastercard have sewn up the card space, with American Express a poor third (and AmEx has high fees too, which is why no-one uses them).

Any reasons why you don't want a Visa or Mastercard card? Most merchants will accept one of those, if not both. And the fact that you are asking for a card that supports Bitcoin only makes everything more difficulty, since most startups that offer those cards will usually use a bank that use either Mastercard or Visa as their card providers - just like almost all Bitcoin cards were using Wavecrest as their card issuers.

I think no there are no any card provider that provides this types of cards because those cards will be worthless because visa/mastercard are accepted in every ATM in the world and if some company will issue such bitcoin based card they also have to build infrastructure around the world which I don't think any company will be willing to do right now.

Bitcoin ATM are not connected to visa or mastercard, where you can buy or sell bitcoin with just your wallet.
