Title: Lestraw's Escrow Services
Post by: lestraw on September 23, 2017, 04:56:17 PM
It seems as if there's been a lot of scammers popping up in here lately and it's causing potential buyers to be afraid and rightfully so, therefore I've decided to start an escrow service.

ESCROW RULES

-I will provide a escrow service for ALL transactions (tips are graciously accepted)

-My fees are 0.5% for any transaction

- The buyer will send his/her coins to me and will be held until they receive the item/service/etc. at which time the coins will be released to the seller. I will notify the seller that I have received the coins AFTER their has been 3 confirmations.

-In the event the buyer claims he/she never received the item, the seller will be asked to provide relevant info that shows it has been received. If receipt is proven then coins will be released to seller, if seller does not provide proof within 5 days then coins will be sent back to the buyer.

-If a dispute arises I will mediate between both parties and base my decision on whomever has the best evidence.

Hopefully this will help the marketplace on here and protect members against the constant flow of scammers.

If you need tips on how to make a safe sale or purchase, you can ask me

PM me if you are in need of my services

It is nice of you that you are trying to help the community, but you are not trusted to be an escrow. First you need to build up a reputation and show that you are a honest person and escrow worthy. With a new account and no trust, I say that no one will use your escrow service.

Most of the members that are looking for escrows are also newbies or higher rank. What they look for? An old and reputable member wich they can both trust. Do you expect to trust a new member who created his account a few days ago? Do you have any well known member profile on other forums? Do you own a well known blog/ service website? You cant just come as a newbie and offer escrow. This is ridiculous

You should forget about this thing dude, its easy to say or post anything on this forun about what you want to offer but you? As an escrow? Better to trade with anyone and get fully trusted here because being an escrow is not as easy as you thought.
You should lock this thread already, more people will post ahead.

I am new here, but I am a trader of more than 20 years in other areas and I have more than 700 bitcoin transactions made in localbitcoin my user is lestraw and more than 2000 bitcoin trades outside of localbitcoin

I have created this thread, because I will invite many Spanish-speaking clients (from the Caribbean, Central America and South America) to use my services, because they need it, there are many scammers and I want to give them the security and the service for which they have been requesting me for months

There are lots of Escrow provider and I am sure someone is able to escrow for them even if they are Spanish speaking clients, you can ask your clients to post a topic here for escrow service and they will get a prompt reply from someone to do it with enough trust and good escrow history.

If they have been requesting for you, no need to create a thread. Just talk to them directly. ::)

This is so useless for a thread.

Many want a website, for now I do not have a website, so I created this thread

But to avoid negative feedback, I'd better take your advice and then in the future I'll have it again

Thanks for the recommendations and for taking care of the community this makes bitcointalk.org a better place

How can I remove or hide this thread?
Lock the thread and move to Archive.

Click "lock topic" and "move topic" at the bottom left part of the post. Move to "Other - Archival";

Even if you are trusted somewhere else, no one can trust you here. For everybody else, you are just a random. Sorry.

Too late. I now see that unsightly ugly red mark below your user name. This is what happens when you post or open threads which don't make sense at all, despite the good intentions you initially had. Offering escrow services with a newbie account raises suspicions and as a precaution, trusted members tend to tag such accounts for the protection of anyone naive enough to fall for your offer.

You can lock the thread and archive it but the account is ruined. That red mark tells people to be careful when dealing, transacting or trading with you.

Yes, there are many scams here but there are also many trusted escrow providers here. They are people who have mediated hundreds if not even more transactions, acted as trusted middle men and have proven time and again that assets they are entrusted with are in safe hands.

I myself can't and won't even dare offer an escrow service. I may be a hero member but I am simply not trusted enough here to brazenly ask people to send me their bitcoins for safekeeping.

The forum says that:

You are not allowed to move topics there.

I lock the thread but I can't move it, what should I do?
Or is it another person who should move it?
