Because lots of bitcoin transactions are done in China. China plays an important role in cryptocurrencies. Any news from China about cryptocurrencies can affect the prices.

It's not that China gains a lot of attention because of a lot of transactions being done there, but I agree with the latter. Besides it, the manipulator probably was a Chinese and for this reason people gives a lot of attention now to China's news. I also agree that China plays a big role in crypto after all there are many miners there compared to how many miners some other country got.

Just because they have some traders with a huge amount of cash ready to be invested into something that they think would profit them in the future.

I'd hazard to guess that China accounts for a tiny fraction of Bitcoin transactions compared to places like the US. The only reason for Bitcoin to move there is to exchanges or miners moving rewards. There's no Bitcoin commerce, no gambling, not much of anything.

Its markets have been extremely important in the past, far more important than they proved to be when they were shut down. It was a mirage. And it is of course the capital of mining. There are some very deep pockets there.

Chinese agitation is the prime ammunition of market manipulators. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with next when China has faded away and the upcoming fork fails.

The most important thing why they become the center of attention is because of money, they are very rich and in addition they are very good at processing money, especially in investing

They are giving too much attention to china because china is one of the major reason why the price of bitcoin goes down and why a lot of people hates china now because their news about banning exchanges and also bitcoin damages the price of bitcoin a lot and bitcoin is struggling to recover its price.

The PBOC is also rumored to start its own blockchain technology. You can google translate this article, for example - http://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/wcVfiIk6XoehT2ypTMNOdg

A government backed cryptocurrency would have the credit of the government behind it, which would set it apart from other cyptocurrencies. Also, if one country issues its own government-backed crypto, other countries may follow suit.

because of the media!

there is not much significant about China. they are just another country like any other when it gets down to involvement with bitcoin. and when it comes to trading. but about adoption they are far behind the curve.
but the media only wants to focus on the mining power and the fake trading volume and then just because it is hard and nearly impossible sometimes to verify the FUD they are spreading, they use China. for example they can never say US banned bitcoin because you simply google and find out it is bullshit but when they say China banned bitcoin you can not verify it easily.
