Title: Mining on a Macbook
Post by: jbadboy5 on June 24, 2011, 06:07:25 PM
Hey guys,

I am extremely new to this and very much understand that not only are people on this forum discouraging mining generally given the current climate, but that also many would say that mining on a MacBook is a foolish idea.

I really am just wanting to do this for fun right now whilst I get my head around this whole thing.

I have ordered some bitcoins through britcoin, but it would be super cool to mine my own.

Currently I am using bitcoinplus.com on a couple of my computers throughout the day, which is fine, but I am only producing miniscule amounts and it is going to take me quite a while before I can "cash out"

My question really is this: is there a way that I could use my MacBook to mine for bitcoins that would produce better and more instant results?

I'd love to hear back and I really hope that I am able to get involved in this community more as I am finding this whole thing hugely exciting and interesting.

Thanks in advance.

you're going to destroy your perfectly working macbook pro for a chance at getting barely any profit. my suggestion would be to build a rig... FAST.

The fastest way for your to start getting some megahash/sec is with a USB->PCIe adapter. I've seen them online, but have no experience with them.
