yes before any information officially this will only look like a hoax. many statements say that, but surely we will trust when there is information officially. but I am sure that we are just waiting until the time amazon can accept bitcoin as payment media in amazon website.

Well why do we need Amazon to accept bitcoin? Anyone could use bitcoin to buy off amazon for many years already! You can google "bitcoin amazon io" and you will be brought to the purse website, which has been around for the longest time allowing users to purchase amazon products using bitcoin at a discount. The only concern is the legitimacy of the funding source (whether people are using scammed amazon gift cards to buy the products on your behalf), but I think most users have had fairly decent experiences buying off them.

Amazon has not confirmed whether this new is true or not, we shall wait till the official announcement from Amazon to confirm. Hopefully Amazon will accept Bitcoin and bring more recognition to Bitcoin.

Very good sign if its true, nevertheless lets wait till official Amazon statement on regards of this rumour.

If Amazon starts to accept payment in bitcoins it will be a real holiday. People will see the possibilities of bitcoin and the community will be enriched by millions of new people. We will have to use the exchangers, and then finally it will be possible to abandon Fiat.

If this happens then Bitcoin will be more known to the Amazon community and certainly more Amazon investors will start buying BTC to serve this. I hope this will come true because I trust Amazon.

I think it would be great if a corporation like amazon would accept bitcoin and it would shed some light into the shadow that the banning of bitcoin on other countries have done to cryptocurrencies even if it is just speculation at this poit it would be a big boost.

There is a lot of articles related to this news filling almost every channel group I am in that related to cryptocurrency , Well there is one fact and it is all this is just rumors nothing confirmed yet  , Anyway if amazon started to accept BTC it will be good for BTC during this bad days and all the FUD from china news , As stated above we all can buy from amazon with BTC threw many ways , But to make the buy direct without any third party  is a hell positive thing for all BTC users .

I think that in reality it is highly unlikely for Amazon to accept Bitcoin. In my view, Amazon has little to gain from adding this payment method other than their own solutions. In so far, there hasn't been any credible source to this other than speculation.

in the past year the requests have been large enough to force their hands into adopting bitcoin. there even was campaigns and petitions to make Amazon hear people and show their interest in wanting to pay with bitcoin.

It's not gonna accept bitcoin clearly. It's located in USA and they can't take the risk of getting accusated by the government in the following years. So they won't add bitcoin.

I heard that Amazon will be accepting Bitcoin and that is not surprising to me. They know it has long term value and thus want to get there hands on as much as possible. I won't be surprised if they give discounts for it.

While i think this would obviously be a very interesting development, i doubt very much if it would happen anytime soon (if at all).  It seems to me like unreliable news to be honest although the effect on the price of Bitcoin would be extraordinary if the news were to be true. I think the issue with major retailers adopting bitcoin is the decentralized nature which obviously is part of the attraction for a lot of us.  There are still many unanswered questions in terms how of mass adoption of bitcoin would work.  All the same, we an hope to dream.

It's utter rubbish put out by a nobody. Amazon will be the very last to accept it. They have no incentive and no interest. There are enough services doing gift cards so that'll have to be enough.

I read that rumour a few times, from big players too but in the end it was just a bad rumour, but that don't mean that it eventually never happens, Amazon should accept btc in the near future it will be a win win, personally I think other coins like OMG, ETH, or even PAY/TENX will be the first ones ever used by sites like Amazon since bitcoin has somewhat a negative name in some of these big companies.

Amazon have different policies in the different countries don't know which country you are talking about. still I don't heard any thing like that. But if they really does accept btc then that would be a big boost for the crypto market and for the amazon as well.

Forget about it they are never going to include this option. Even if they do so how will they peg their items everyday with new prices. Price of bitcoin is too volatile.

creating a simple system that generates a new address and converts the amount in fiat to amount in bitcoin and asks the customer to pay it, is pretty easy. it takes time and server resources but it is easily doable.
the very least is using a service like BitPay (like how thousands of businesses such as Steam are doing) and they do all that for you and pay you either in bitcoin or in fiat.

Amazon needs to accept Bitcoin before accept cryptocurrency is new payment method in its system. You also know the popularity of the cryptocurrency world still very small, it cannot compete other payment method has old age like PayPal or Visa.

Well i dont think amazon has announced anything on accepting the bitcoin payments, and dont listen to anyone or anonymous article links or viral news which are created by some people who are no way connected to amazon.so stay away from them, and wait till amazon comes forward and announced it legally all over the world.Even i came to hear that Amazon coupons and some gift vouchers are available or can be purchased through Bitcoins, and people are already started buying those coupons without any difficulties. but i would like to stay away from it or better you do your own research on it , before buying anything. ;)

According to me amazon are not going to accept bitcoins any time soon,you have to follow unorthodox methods to convert btc to cash,it will probably take another 20 years to accept them

I think this is the third time I read a story like this in the past months. Most never seem to be correct.

Not all buddy. Truly saying, they soon accept the bitcoin. Because, the bitcoin is the future currency. If they get the payment in bitcoin so,they will get nearly ,twice of amount as you payed as a payment. Since bitcoin is the best place to inverse your money. So I suggest,them to start this type of payment.

I seem to recall having heard this same rumor a few years ago. It
seems to make the rounds every once in a while, and we hold our breath and
hope that it happens, and then it doesn't. It would be so convenient for me
personally, 75% of my shopping gets done there. I'd have more to spend
if I didn't have to pay exchange and transfer fees every time I wanted
to buy some hand sanitizer. For example.

It could be huge though, opening up Amazon's internal payment system
to crypto. Anyplace you can pay with Amazon you'd be able to pay with BTC.

The rumor is completely unverified. Never believe in such things unless there is an official statement from  the company itself. Amazon is already doing really well and I don't think that its in any desperate need to accept bitcoin in order to boost itself up. Still if Amazon decides to introduce it, it will be a great boon for the community and the price of bitcoin itself. If amazon starts accepting it then we can expect a large crowd of people coming into the crypto world.

Even if Amazon is going to be accepting bitcoin, is it James Altucher report we are going to rely on as an authentic news? The CEO of Amazon never came out to mention they are going to be doing that anytime soon and even if they have the mind of doing so, what we still have now is just basic speculation. The only last thing I heard was change.org sending a petition to Amazon CEO to consider including Bitcoin and Litecoin as means of payment for users which since then, there has been no word about any development regarding that.

It can be very possible bruv! That is if they want to. Moreover! What makes you think it is impossible? Purse.io for some years now have been able to integrate amazon cart into their platform to enable users buy goods using bitcoin although it is somehow related to P2P process with someone with a gift card helping with the purchase. However, there are so many ways amazon can integrate this directly to enable sellers use it as an option for payment method if they wish.

Hoping that this news were true so that crypto and bitcoin users like us would have more convenience or options to use BTC. Although personally, I'd rather not use or spend my BTC in on a regular basis or for things found on amazon but it may be useful if you don't own a credit card or happen to be short in cash at the moment. This would also increase the popularity of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency as the people who use amazon would probably get curious and interested upon hearing about it or seeing it. This would diversify the world of online payments.

Well if that's true, that is a good idea, very easy and convinient for us having a bitcoin. But also please put some discounts on a delivery outside the country  ;D

it is true, there have been a rather popular petition to get Amazon to accept bitcoin and litecoin but a petition is just a petition it doesn't mean they are accepting it. it takes time and more petition for a big business like Amazon to allow bitcoin on their site but i do really believe that they will accept bitcoin sooner than you think. there is enough demand for it anyways.

We have to wait until Amazon confirms, but anyway sooner o later Amazon or other internet relatailer will accept BTC. When they do it it will be good por BTC, as it will be more popular. Rumors and fake news will always exist. Dont believe anything unless amazon says so. Also imagine the impact it would have on the bitcoin price if it was really the case? Amazon would not be able to sell anything for less than 0.000001 bitcoin

I'm pretty sure it's fake news. The original article is basically one person's speculation. If they did accept Bitcoin, I'm sure they would need to do it through a payment processor like Bitpay. And I'm not sure that Bitpay (or the network itself) could handle the potential scale that Amazon might bring at this point. With the Lightning Network, maybe, but not right now. I've never even heard of the website that the rumor was posted on... I'd take it with a big grain of salt.

I did not hear amazon will accepted bitcoin as payment, And i think it is a rumors in the other people or ads coming up form the social media. Must better to ask about that and be secure to your bitcoin as always.

They didn't say will accept bitcoin, yet. But they will accept in the next 1-2 years, because bitcoin is making a big wave and they will not want to be outsiders.

Even this news is unverified and untrue but it can be soon comes to reality. If bitcoin last at high price for 10 more years. Amazon won't have any choice at that time or they would loss much of they're customer if they all used bitcoin and them not adapting such. The news about Amazon accepting Bitcoin is not coming from a trusted source in my opinion. I have read that it was first mentioned on a paid newsletter but nothing came from Amazon yet. So I'll be ignoring until it is confirmed by Amazon headquarters itself.

I have no idea about amazon accept Bitcoin and i could not find any right news.It is foolish to believe without any accurate news.And l also something heard google accept bitcoin but i don't believe this news without evidance.

1. If directly bought from Amazon with BTC, fewer parties are involved, which is great. (like steam is accepting bitcoins, that is much better than me buying a gift card through some other party service, because it´s faster and more secure)

I think if Bitcoin starts getting more and more popularity, Amazon will surely start accepting payments in Bitcoin. They might have even started searching a safe way to do this!  But it would be nice for them, because new and more people might start using bitcoin also.

I think it is a good idea because we all know that there are many people that are buying and having transactions in amazon so we must make that transactions very easy and hassle free. I dont think the news is true because Amazon's CEO or chair persons may have bought a bag of Bitcoins but they will never accept them as a payment gateway as no listed company can process cryptos with caution.

This made a buzz last weekend in the Twitter world and most of cryptohandlers there almost believed it. Unfortunately, the news is just an inaccurately translated article that produced unreal information about Bitcoin being accepted by Amazon. This is by no means a very good move (if this is true) but I hate to have this kind of news flying around just to learn that it is not indeed happening.

But in my opinion, Amazon will accept BTC in the future as a mode of payment to their services. We know that this company embraces change especially when it will provide ease for their users. This will be a big step from their company and will provide positive exposure for BTC to other people who is not yet aware of its existence.

I read this on Twitter as well but it turned out to be just FUD news unfortunately. But I think it would be a little early for a company as big as Amazon to accept bitcoin just yet.

unfortunately the news is fake. if the news is true it will greatly affect the bitcoin value. and I'm sure if amazon is applying the system via bitcoin there will be many more such services following the amazon step. but unfortunately this is just a rumor.

Its not confirmed but i heard from news that amazon can accept bitcoin in future. I don't think it impossible but if they start accepting bitcoins, It can opens a lot of doors for bitcoins. Like people start searching about it when they watch BITCOINS in payment method and much more.

Don't trust any third party, I think it is not possible cause The price of Bitcoin is too much volatile.

The rumor crops up every month or so, I dont actually believe it unless I see it on the front of the Amazon website or on CNN or another mainstream news outlet wit Jeff Bezos or some one of his senior execs confirming it.

It is a fake news how ever if Amazon will implement bitcoin payment, it will have a big impact in the community and the price will blow high. Many online will follow their steps and bitcoin will become more popular.

This is the one of the greatest news as we all know Amazon is the one of largest online shopping store and as it has started taking payments in bitcoin more store will follow the trend and online shopping will be easy. And this is the pure business thinking what Amazon they knew that coming era is of bitcoin and they take right decision on right time that will give them benefit.

If that happens and amazon accepts bitcoins, that would make a great rally as soon as they declare it.

I think it was in 2012 that I first saw a thread here about Amazon accepting Bitcoins. Almost 5 years have passed and no progress have been achieved on this front. My advice would be to forget about Amazon and carry on with our work. If Amazon doesn't need Bitcoins, then we don't need Amazon as well.

Try to look for facts and looks like your link had been removed because of that.
Anyway, this wont happen for some reasons. They would still prefer the other payments. Bitcoin works differently and price is still wavy. They would rather use the USD than that.

I just read a post similar to this before and reading that even I felt that Amazon will accept Bitcoins but then I realized that I have heard many such cases and still haven't seen any result. So even I am going to hold and not react on any of the news that is spread by unofficial people .

I think you are wrong. For example if I live in china and Chinese government has banned bitcoin and if I buy and accept bitcoin for my payments, will china has any effect on that? Can anybody help me wrap my head around this - if amazon or some other major vendor accepts btc as payment, how would we pay for it? Current transaction fees are 70 dollars worth of btc. I heard this news from my elder brother but still not i don't believe because amazon officially not announced they accept BITCOIN.But suppose it is real news & amazon accept BITCOIN really good for everybody.
