That way network can verify and at the time of burning the random value can not be known. This way network can not be asic or even gpu mined.
I have telepathic connection with aliens on mars, and they have told me they will donate 50 btc for this project. They have ultrafast computers so we NEED proof of burn or they can 51% attack us.
