I'm willing to bet that Amazon does not accept Bitcoin by the end of October. Anyone want to bet on the other end?

Actually there is a prediction market already running, juat forget about the name, but you will find it here in thw forum, you just make an acct there and you can do things like this safely and more effectively, aince they have large user base already.

This was already disproven according to a Reddit poster. Apparently the guy that created the rumor is some con-artist that was caught with lies in the past.

Looks like he was trying to pump BTC and when the announcement came out nothing really happened.

So as much as I would love to see Amazon accept BTC, at this point there is no point to accept BTC yet.

That would be awesome but they already accept it kinda way. Anyone can use purse.io to buy things from Amazon using Bitcoins. Maybe accepting Bitcoins from Amazon will let people worldwide buy from Amazon . I hope they accept it directly Bitcoin in October.

The mainstream media the other day was talking crap about being able to pick up nail bombs on amazon.  I've seen this before how they are very negative on ebay also.  t would not surprise me to see one of these platforms accept bitcoin pretty soon as a fu to mainstream. Needs to be a paypal bitcoin deposit option so you only have to fund your account for 1 fee.

I believe there is not this matter they concern about. What is the point to make this bet and gambling for it? More over the point here is about the acceptance bitcoin on their site which mean if they adopted bitcoin to amazon, I believe people wont sell their coin again and price will be stable and more of them are going to buy things through bitcoin and price will increase again

I agree... it is not a matter if they stop accepting bitcoins... what is more important is that how this cryptocurrency continue to dominate in the world market... actually upon reading some brilliant forums here... bitcoins is liken to stock securities...  it depends on the movement of the market and the acceptance of the public... supply and demand as they say it in economics.

Hey please first review the news link he has added in op. That links direct about news and bitcoin is gonna adopt by Amazon from coming October. Actually he wanna get the people to bet this information opposite to his quote. If you are able to fight back in his betting. you can do, I don't know why you are writing about the incomplete information.

It would be an amazing breakthrough for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies if Amazon figured out a way to accept it. News like that helps to underpin the current price and if one of the worlds largest retailers started to accept it, then wider use by the public could follow. That said, there must be massive security, regulatory and legal hurdles to overcome before that can happen - Amazon has lots of resources to do it and might see the current bitcoin value as worth the risk

It's just a fake rumor and it's not the first time for such rumor to circulate.
We've seen some popular companies accepting bitcoins, but amazon, if it ever did it would be one of the last one to do so

I can't see a reason why they wouldn't. It would be great if they did accept Bitcoin it might bring the price up even more then it already is. Wouldn't that be nixe? Already there are third person services to do this but an official way paying amazon straight would be better or paying the seller straight.

I'm not sure though I think if they were going to use bitcoin they already would have accepted it.

Whether prices go up or not it doesn't matter to Amazon but for them whether USA regulators allow to accept bitcoins as a payment or not matters much. If the third party accept bitcoins but they will be paying Amazon in fiat so it is different from accepting bitcoins directly. I think it may happen but not so soon like by this month end.

I would happily bet against it as well. Not that my wish is Amazon not accepting it, I would love it to happen, but come on it is not happening anytime soon.

i believe i saw an open bet on Byteball platform about this. unfortunately i am not a fan of making bets like this so i didn't pay much attention to it. and i think the topic is now deleted because it was posted in a wrong board. but you can find it on byteball bot.

it would be very interesting to see this take off. Byteball is a pretty interesting cryptocurrency that offers decentralized things such as these.

Guys it is already a fact that amazon will not accept bitcoins atm, they already announced it, so stop this, anyone who will bet on Amazon accepting Btc is already sure lost.

Bitcoin payment prediction news spread a lot of happiness among some people who do shop on amazon frequently.
It would be an interesting experiment if amazon starts accepting bitcoin but right now amazon does not appear to have interest in adding bitcoin.
I think amazon is having a certain look on market volatility that's what retards them to add bitcoin.

That would be a great new if Amazon accepting Bitcoin. However I believe that Facebook accepting bitcoin will be the game changing moment.

I don't think facebook would make much of a difference. Its been years since i've used it but you can't really buy anything on Facebook.

Amazon accepting BTC would be huge but since BTC still has little adoption, I don't know if it worth it for them. Their yearly revenues wouldn't increase. Because if you need something and its only on Amazon, you will pay instead by CC if no BTC option is available and they will make the same revenue.

But we will see what happens.

Not all 1 billions users will use fb but I do agree opening up the opportunity for that possiblity. Remember many people still have bi heard if Bitcoin or how it works. BTC will need to be placed on fb to make people aware and I don't know how happy fb with would be with that. In sure they have some special deal with the likes of PayPal. Still that is bit to say it will never happen. It would be better if s new FB came out that ran entirely on the blockchain.

Maybe if this bet would be had, there should be some sort of timeline for the bet. Like whether amazon will accept bitcoins by end of 2017. If the bet would go indefinitely then OP when never lose because there is infinite time that has been set as the deadline. Well, I am guessing that this bet is possible, however I am more inclined to amazon accepting bitcoins, because I think that's a big possibility.

But you didn't read the first post. Anyway, someone already confirmed that Amazon is not going to accept Bitcoins for now but in future don't know.

I probably missed Amazon's announcement about this, what I saw is they are denying accepting BTC after some claims... I tried to search about it now but didn't find anything except a few report denies!
Well, since I am in crypto every year there's a talk about Amazon will start accepting Bitcoin... and nothing happened until now, so I doubt they will do it! I guess their business is flourishing anyway, so why would they change anything and cause some problems?! And let's be honest, choosing Bitcoin as a payment option would be a poke in the eye for many countries where they operate and make a profit! So, this will not happen for now, maybe one day in the future!
