Title: Ripple and the Disappearing drops
Post by: pstudart on May 30, 2013, 09:04:43 PM
My question is about Ripple,

Could high frequency traders cause Ripples to run out? If so could the system continue to work without Ripples? As Ripples diminish I guees this would deter Hft and increase their price but any thoughts on this?

I don't think mods want this thread here.
Should go to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
Or: https://ripple.com/forum/

When transactions become numerous, fees can rise to stabilize the network.
If my calculations are correct it would take the Ripple network 150,000 years to run out of XRP if it was processing an amount of transactions similar to the amount VISA is processing today.
