Wait... You purchased Avalon chips. I think you can expect to have to provide WAY more information on assembly, manufacturer of boards and a whole host of other factors before many people are going to be interested in forking over BTC70+ for 'Avalon Clones'.

Also: ESCROW people! Are you crazy? He's a JR member. Please use your brain.

Note: I am not trying to be a dick or 'ruin your sales' but seriously. 35 x 70+ BTC is not pocket change. And so far this thread has not even CLOSE to the information that a serious seller should be able to provide when promising August shipping of Avalon machines!

TheSwede75,

Thank you for your caution. We want to make this short and sweet for everyone, that is why we did not make our original post overwhelmingly long. All the information of assembly is already on the forum, therefore we do not feel the need to repeat ourselves.

You are already milking a load of money, 0.08 x 252 chip = 21 btc and you are selling at 75 btc , so you make 54 btc? ok the parts etc... another 10 to 15 btc plus shipping .. 21 + 15 = 36btc - 75 btc = 39btc x 35 = 1365 BTC in fiat is US$176,085. May be you should have order 200k of chip :)

Kevcoins,

In the past, Avalon charges 75BTC for a 66Gh/s machine. Our machine will work not only as good as the Avalon mining machine, but at a greater hashing power for the same price.

We thank you for your continued interest. Please let us know if there is any other question of which we can assist you.

Just want to chime in here and say that I've met BTCBuyer in person. I have no reason to believe he's not being upfront about this offer.

To be clear, I haven't met the team doing the assembly nor am I vouching for the offer itself.

However, I have done a good amount of business with this person and can vouch that they were very professional and on-time in all our dealings.

We need more information: what are the pcb boards you are using? Who is your source? what software will you be running? What is your name and office or factory address? How long have you been mining? because you only have 86 posts? Escrow is safer because every single BTC send to you is not recoverable. Why not you open up Visa and Master Card together with Paypal. What we need is buyers protection.

Kevcoins thanks for making the suggestions. I will only be accepting BTC as this is how we help the community grow. Also, I am such a strong believer I spent the money to buy the BTC to do this today.

The boards will be the klondikes either 16 or 64. The end result is a 72Gh/s hashing machine that runs on 600+/- watts of power.

I don't want to sound rude but, if you are skeptical you can simply not purchase from me, for those of you who do, welcome to the asic mining family :)
I am a little  confused title says "Avalon Clones" then you say that you are using BkkCoins Klondike design?

Avalon chips, Klondike boards from what I understand.

I will keep this post short and simple.

I have personally purchased 10,000 chips from Avalon. For interested parties who want these machines and want proof the chips were ordered the photos are attached here. I even made a recording, of the cash trade for the bitcoins necessary to get this done. This can be provided upon request.

I am selling these machines for BTC75 each, just like Avalon has in the past. These machines will hash at 72GH/s each. You can expect your machines Mid to Late August. Everything will be shipped to you overnight from United States, if you are international please contact me and we will address proper shipping cost.

I will only be selling 35 machines. Nothing more, if you are interested, act soon. This is the real deal folks do not miss it.

What makes you qualified to do this?  BFL can't build a working ASIC in 10 months but Scammer McScammy can do it in a few days?  Post your credentials please.

If I had to design everything from scratch yes I wouldn't be able to do this, however, Avalon is providing every detail necessary for us to manufacturer their machines, before you flame learn about what's out there. Thanks.
Well from this post I thought he was talking about cloning the Avalon design.

He didn't start out right , now he definitely need more explanation. My question is are you using asic miner, FPGA or GPU mining at this point in time? buying and selling BTC is trading BTC, but now you are Mining BTC, a different ball game very technical, alex if not mistaken is selling and buying btc, not sure he is into mining? you need to get your compass right..

Actually nothing is confirm until sample chip and BOM arrives. Even BKKcoin is not sure if all of his parts, setting, calculations or analysis is correct? they have to test and teak when the sample chip arrives..

My technical knowledge is nonexistent. I was only trying to add that I have dealt with btctrader, everything else is just speculation on my part.

Hello everyone,

These boards will not be assembled by me, but the highly qualified engineers on my team. I have provided proof that I have purchased the 10,000 Avalon Asic chips with $100,000 of my own investment. The time estimate that I have provided is simply based off of the shipping time that Avalon has listed on their agreement page.

Everything is pre-assembled and in working order before they arrive to us, we simply mount the chips and run the machines.

Thank you very much for your interest.

you are still avoiding question about your identity? if you are so confident make used of escrow and pay by credit card, so we don't need to worry about your delivery. But, I can assure you that your  delivery will NOT be on time, guarantee !! would you compensate for late or refund for non-delivery?

Kevcoins,

I understand your concern about credibility. This is the reason why I have provided proof of my transaction with Avalon Asic.

Since this community is built on trust, I want us to continue to communicate openly so that I can fully address all of your questions and concerns.

I can ensure you that my team is very well qualified to handle the 10,000 Avalon Asic chips. However, I cannot guarantee when Avalon will ship our ordered chips. We are all simply waiting patiently for Avalon Asic to fulfill their obligation with us.

Thank you very much.

Kevcoins, I can ensure that it will take my team no more than 10 days to assemble all 10,000 chips, I cannot guarantee when Avalon will ship the chips. I am simply going off of their timeline as I have already stated. Thanks for your interest.

I would recommend changing the title to "Ships within 10 days of receiving chip batch"... which sounds like what you are actually claiming.  Otherwise it sounds like you are making a promise that you can't possibly be in control to guarantee.  I don't think that is the message you are trying to convey.

No one knows when Avalon will ship their chips.  They have been delayed with B2 and B3 full miners, and chips could easily be delayed as well.
There have been no movement out of their chip ordering wallet.

http://blockexplorer.com/address/1FGAftzSTztFSB8LMwsrdCKTyqGY6zr3sU

They are as of today that wallet has 63278.8 BTC which roughly equals 81 orders of 10,000 chips (~230THash)
As far as we know... TSMC hasn't been set loose on any of the orders yet.

Yifu has stated that he don't need those BTC to convert to fiat to pay TSMC, they have enough of a budget in fiat to pay them. Unless we have received the sample chip until than we don't know when are the chips going to be deliver? remember they have batch 2 and 3 order to catch up..

I want to believe.

If you are serious about taking pre-orders, I might suggest doing an escrow with JohnK. I'd happily buy one of these units, but only pay for it once it ships - meaning, JohnK would release the funds upon shipping. You guys don't ship in a reasonable amount of time, JohnK could refund our BTC, minus escrow fees.

Pre-orders in Bitcoin space have left a particularly foul taste in my mouth, unfortunately :(

Wish you well with this project.

Xian,

Thank you for your interest. In this case, you can see that I have personally ordered 10,000 Avalon Chips, as posted. I hope you understand that if my team does not have the abilities to put this together, I would not invest in 100k worth of chips.

As far as delivery, that is completely up to Avalon to meet their proposed shipping date.

If you have more questions please do ask. We welcome communication either through this thread or private message.

Thank you very much.

If you have more questions please ask.

Everyone knows Avalon is legit and will deliver, so the 100k you put up is much less risky than the 10k you are asking others to give you, so why not just use escrow? 10k is a lot of money, so it's unreasonable to expect others to give you that much BTC now on a promise that you may or may not be able to keep.

Worse case for you, you get the chips from Avalon and resell them if you're not able to turn them into a working miner. Worse case for your buyers (without escrow) is that they lose all their BTC and get nothing...

Buyers have no recourse or protection without escrow, and you are an anonymous stranger on the internet.

Hello Kendog77,

Everyone has to start somewhere. In our view, it is easy to look back in hindsight and say Avalon is "legit", at one point they took orders on pre-orders as well, without any track record, and for 75BTC per machine. Those who went with them were rewarded handsomely, and we simply offering the same.

For us, it is not inventing the wheel to mount chips onto pre-assembled boards. With our mechanical engineering background, we can follow Open Source to accomplish our project.

We are not accepting escrow for the same reason why all the big Players are not accepting escrow. This business is built on trust and faith, if you do not trust us, simply do not do business with us. But please do not accuse us of any wrongdoing before you have given us a chance to show you our work.

We welcome all those who would like to be a part of our Asic mining family.

BTCbuyer Team.

There are a couple of differences that I will note:

1.) Avalon only charged $1299 for batch 1 because they were not established at the time. Less established companies have to offer their products for a cheaper price to make up for added risk for the buyer.

2.) With difficulty going up so rapidly, timing is everything. An Avalon clone might not be worth 75BTC if it won't be delivered until the end of the year. Will you offer buyers a refund if you don't deliver by a certain date? I suspect ASICMiner will be forced to reduce the price of their USB miners and blades soon due to rising difficulty.

Title: Re: [Avalon Clones] Available, Ships As soon as August
Post by: BTCBuyer on May 31, 2013, 06:15:09 PM

Kendog77,

1. They were able to charge 1299 due to the fact that they manufacture these chips, to get people to believe in ASICs, their chips are proven now, and I am sourcing the chips from them, my pricing is firm, if you are not okay with that, you can pay 50BTC for a 10Gh/s (13 if you over clock Blade from ASICMiner)

2. I do not control the difficulty, this is your job as a buyer to make your own decision. My guarantee is that it takes us 10 days to assemble the machines, and ship them out. I do not control when Avalon ships, however their Terms of Service clearly states between 9-10 weeks lead time.

An unwillingness to accept escrow is a huge red flag for me and for the community. If you do plan on actually selling more units adding in an option to pay via escrow with say, a 5% extra fee that goes to you I'm sure you would get much more interest. as it stands now this likely seems extremely scammy to most people.

To everyone:

Escrow can be a problem for the seller. If you received the goods and claim that you did not receive them, then I am out of my bitcoins, chips, and shipping cost. This is problematic for me. Therefore to address this concern of credibility, I have  posted photos at the start of the thread to show you that the chips have already been ordered. Unlike other sellers on this forum who claim that "we have ordered the chips" without any proof, I have solid evidence that I have indeed ordered the 10,000 Avalon Asic chips with $100,000 of my own investment.

I understand that in this Bitcoin industry, trust is important. However, timeliness is as well. If you do not trust me, simply do not order from me. I only request that you take your business elsewhere, as this thread is for those who are interested in the product I am offering.

I have kept my thread and responses brief because I do not believe that it is necessary to dwell on the negative comments. I am announcing and offering my service on this forum. I have clients elsewhere as well. Just because I am a junior member who does not post often, does not mean that I am not knowledgeable and have the appropriate network to make this happen.

I am a businessman and therefore not well versed in the technical field. That does not mean I do not have a well trained team of engineers. For privacy reasons, my team has requested that I keep their information confidential. However, they are highly qualified individuals from the top ivy league universities.

I have dealt with many clients, who are happy and satisfied with my product and work. If you would like to be one of my clients, then I can assure you, that you will receive your 72Gh/s machine from me. I am a man of my words.

If you would like further information, I would be more than happy to discuss them with you. However, please do not make judgements or conclusions before you have seen what I can do.

You can always set your escrow terms as upon shipping with the paid dhl/fedex will show the tracking number and you should be able to get the escrow guy to release the payment. Most of us will reluctant to pay you now you know because the chip hasn't arrived, yes it hasn't arrived .. if they saw that your chips has arrived than they are evidence and proof that likely you will assemble and shipped out the miner soon.

How is escrow a 'risk to the seller'? I have personal experience from escrow with JohnK and so has 1000s of other forum members and as far as I know there has not been a SINGLE case of fraud or scam when he has been used.

You are trying to sell $100.000s worth of product and expect people to send you over $10.000 per purchase, and argue that Escrow is somehow a bad idea?

Also: You are selling the product and 'mysteriously' have another forum member that states that he is 'not associated' with you show up like clockwork and answer forum questions and accusations several times in the thread. Please..  I hate to say it, but this just fucking reeks of scam!

TheSwede75,

I appreciate your concern and the time you took to look into my thread. I have set my terms, you are free to wait until other individuals have placed their order and received their mining rigs from me, to order then. I would appreciate if you would stop with your accusations of those who I have personally dealt business with. They have vouched for me, as you have vouched for JohnK. It is unfair that you would jump to conclusions. I am politely asking that you refrain from being rude.

If you have questions about the product, then please do ask. But if you are asking about the conditions I have set, then I suggest you look for another service on a different thread.

This thread is for those you are interested in purchasing from me and are serious buyers. Thank you very much.

UPDATE:28 out of 35 machines remain open for sale.

Dan99,

Thank you for your post and question. In your case, I would suggest that you wait until I have received the chips to order. At that point in time, I would also update this bitcoin forum. However, I cannot guarantee the availability of the mining machines as over the last 24 hours, 7 units have already been sold.

Why not allow escrow? I don't understand the reluctance to escrow unless you have something to hide. We have no way to trust you because we have no way of verifying your reputation.

You could even set a slightly higher price for escrow and that would be OK. Like 75BTC without escrow and 80BTC with escrow.

I really have trouble believing anybody could have placed an order without knowing you or escrow.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for reading this thread. To answer your question about escrow, below are my complete thoughts on the issue. You do not have to agree with me. However, if you would like to be one of my clients, my conditions are firm.

WHY ESCROW IS GOOD: An escrow is helpful and useful in limiting fraud for a buyer because he or she acts as an intermediary between the two parties. For example, if you were a buyer and the seller never ships, then the escrow takes funds from the seller's account, and gives it back to the buyer. This strengthens the Bitcoin economy because risk in bitcoin dealing is limited.

WHY ESCROW IS BAD: The escrow system does not take into account disputes between the buyer and seller, which is known as "escrow scam." Bitcoin is designed so that you have total ownership rights of your money. This is offset by the competing interest in fraud protection. These two interests cannot be compromised: you either have (1) total ownership rights of your money or (2) fraud protection. With that said, I believe in the first camp, that the power to handle your money rests in your own hands, not a third party, escrow, or bank. It is up to you, and only you, to send bitcoins to your trusted entities.

In a buyer scam, the buyer purchases a product using escrow, then claims he never received it, thereby filing an escrow dispute. While bitcoin escrow services can mitigate the issue, it can only do so with a simple default to a 50/50 split in the event of a dispute.

I have personally looked into Escrow JohnK's contractual fine print. He says that on the event that any problems arises, "he will release the escrow to whichever party that presents him with the most convincing proof and/or after an open discussion with others." Therefore, my investments and potential double loss (from the original bitcoins to buy the chips and the revenue generated from the sale) would be pending on the escrow's decisions.

You are free to make your own decisions as to with whom you do business and the conditions you attach. These are my conditions and the reasoning behind them.

I thank you for your time and concern.

BTCbuyer Team.

OP -good plan and I applaud your initiative (wish I had jumped on the chips earlier).  But the lack of an escrow should be blatant no-no for any forum user.  Short of meeting you in person, giving you BTC blindly is tantamount to running a Pirate.  The screenshot is about as useful as a pic of you holding a shoe.

If you want simple proof, video tape yourself closing the box with tape at the FedEx or UPS location and presenting the box for shipment.  May seem cumbersome but I have sold devices that were valued at 10-50k before and the I received a complaint stating I shipped an empty box (from a dentist no less).  Simple statement of fact citing mail fraud (yes even FedEx and UPS are covered under these commerce clauses) will get most people to shut up.

If you find that too cumbersome and don't want to deal with escrow then this board is probably not the right place for you to sell.... cough*eBay*cough

Hello DrG,

Thank you for your post. In response, I am firm with my conditions. I understand that there are disagreements, but we do not have to all agree on the same point. I do not want to rehash the escrow or no escrow reasoning above. I do thank you for your suggestions about proof method, which I will keep in mind.

In the past, startups have started with much less proof of delivery than I have (i.e. Avalon). I have proof that I have ordered the chips, and I will post up a video of my transaction in obtaining the bitcoins. We all have to start somewhere, and this thread is my announcement of my service and product. I have stated my belief, and I am holding true to that belief.

I understand credibility builds with time, and I am starting it now.

If you have any questions about my product, I welcome you to engage in a private conversation with me, either through phone or on a private message. This is thread is meant to gauge interest. Until you have talked to me, please do not jump to conclusions or judgments.

Thank you very much.

BTCbuyer Team.

To everyone on this thread,

I respectfully ask that you do not rehash the escrow or no escrow argument, as this will just be a repetitive cycle. I am firm in my belief and my conditions.

If you do not share this belief, I respect your belief. You can wait to see further confirmation as I continuously update this thread. I simply ask that you refrain from posting accusations and judgments.

For those who are interested, again, I welcome you to join the Asic family as an early adopter.

I am open to having a private conversation with you over the phone. Please contact me personally for this information.

I have posted a video of my avalon asic purchase transaction here: http://youtu.be/rhLM86mOE7c

Thank you very much for your interest.

BTCBuyer,

What state are you located in?  Perhaps to help settle some of this back/forth trust is to have a few meetings with peers on the forum and build some F2F trust with plans and discussion.  This would go far to close the 2X devices for pre ordering.

Regards,

Ted

I have seen a few threads like this, Some legit, Some bogus, I am not calling this one either, Just saying no matter how much proof there is, I will not part with BTC until I have a product in hand, When I pre-order at the shop, I pay when I collect the goods, not months in advance.

I'm just pointing out many of us here feel the same way, I really do hope your the "real deal" I would love to be a proud owner of one, I would proudly say, As I am known here more than you, If I get a unit delivered to me, The SAME HOUR it starts hashing I would pay your BTC and shipping costs, But I know that aint gonna happen!

I wish you the best on your venture, It is nice to see people doing this as it puts more pressure on "other company's" to deliver more swiftly.

Regards

I'd be willing to go onsite and observe all of your evidence in person as well as listen to your operational plan and maybe even meet some of your assembly team members to vet things out...
I can then report back here as to my observations.

which city and state are you in?

Hello,

Thank you for pointing out the typo, it was meant to say 7 out of 35 machines, not 32. We have made the appropriate corrections.

if you are not okay with that, you can pay 50BTC for a 10Gh/s (13 if you over clock Blade from ASICMiner)

Since you put it that way, I procured another AM Blade for less than 50 BTC. I hope to have it by next Tuesday.

Additionally, I have K16's on order through Steamboat's project that will give me a higher total hashrate than your product at a cheaper cost, by about 20 BTC.

 Thank you very much.

ugh, I really want to pull the trigger on one, but the math is not good on this.

@ 10% every 11days. if it arrives on sept 3, it will take you till around early jan 2014 to break even. 36BTC profit if you run it till mid Nov, 2014. minus cost of electricity, fee's and maybe unforeseen blackouts etc etc.
at a more bleak outlook,
@ 13% every 11days. you will never make your money back.

if you can hammer one out by early july, then you're looking at some safe returns.
