There is only one that I know about - etherdelta.com. It is good because of trading directly to/from your wallet to another user's wallet. There is no middleman who can be unfair.

I agree with you, I don't like waves dex much. Use of etherdelta may be a bit difficult but I think it is the best decentralized exchange in terms of safety.

It so far it is etherdelta.com, though it is a pity to say it is the best because the exchange still has alot of lagging time and lack volume. There are some promising decentralised exchnages in the space but have not started operations

I think the best and most popular exchanger is bittrex,
it's bittrex quite difficult to insert some coins now

never tried any ....    but after the "disable accounts" from Bitrrex for random users without any explanation I was searching and I hit that subject ...

I wonder why no one mentioned Bitshares.org ?
and I noticed some people saying bitquince on reddit

so I hope people interact here with there experience ...

Etherdelta might be good , but its only for EtherTokens ...   not so much there . I mean not all Crypto .

All asset platfroms have it like Etehreum, Counterparty, NXT, ETC, waves, bitshares...  but you can only trade asset that was issued on their platform.
I think most popular decentralized exchange where you can trade different coins is the one that used to be called bitsqare and was latter renamed to https://bisq.network/  Sadly had only 3 BTC volume today :(   IF we will not start using decentralized exchanges then they will never get alive.

As for my opinion, the best one is etherdelta.com It's the best choise for altcoins. And, as for me, it has very good useability and it's safety for me.

I like using waves wallet, accepting various kinds cryptocurrency and many option in wallets and have decentrilization exchanges with wallets , not only that, DEX on support with android, iphone, or chrome. This very easy to find profits , and have good themes.

We do need a good decentralized exchange. I've heard of "Openledger" but don't know if is up and running. EtherDelta has it's problems, especially when DApp's like crytpokitties congest the blockchain. However, I think we will start seeing more decentralized exchanges as development with atomic swaps and sidechains increase.

I like the Waves wallet too. It supports not only Waves but also bitcoin, Ethereum, USD and more. I like how we can sell Waves for USD and buy later using the same money rather than withdrawing it to the bank account.

Decentralized exchanges are the single biggest update we need in the crypto space, the ones that have been mentioned already leave a lot to be desired.  Once we can get one where you can trade just like all the centralized ones then we're all the better for it.  So many scams have been pulled off because a centralized one is a huge security risk.

Etherdelta and Waves Dex is working great and have great volume. Idex also start gaining some volume, in the future they will be one of the leaders. Bitshares and Counterparty Dex are kinda old and not upgrading like others. They also have very low volume.

The use of etherdelta is not difficult and it is the most easiest exchange but the problem there is that there are much lower number of users. We have to promote it more and more so that the crowd increase on that exchange then it will be much easy for all of use to use that exchange for all type of trades.

I think Etherdelta one of the most famous, but I still can't suit up myself for those decentralized exchange. They so slow still and don't have the user friendly interface.

I didn't know, that etherdelta is a decentralized exchanger. Great info. Bittrex, as one of preposters suggested is centralized.
I also use changelly and shapeshift. They are not really decentralized, but exchanges can be made directly from wallet without registration to third party.

Why are there so few decentralized exchanges? And EtherDelta is lacking in user friendliness. You'd think it's one of the top priorities for decentralized cryptocurrencies to also be traded in a decentralized way.

i am using BarterDEX for testings, its the best one working on atomic swaps with cool options like order matching, zero conf and auto trade...
i really hope that Decentralised exchanges will be adopted in 2018-2019

barterDEX is really a cool thing , but need more traders and coins there
i hope that Ethereum will support atomic swaps soon, if all erc20 tokens integrated into barterdex, its gonna be huge

Currently is foo expensive to sell on EtherDelta - you need to pay $3 to deposit tokens, $3 to sold tokens and $3 to withdraw ETH.

I think there is no need for promotions because tokens in ICOs are preferably listed there and if the method is done by many it will be famous in no time.

For me the best decentralized exchange are Etherdelta and Hitbtc. Especially hitbtc I like the Unit interface of the platform while Etherdelta needs to connect to a etherwallet so we can buy and sell token on their exchange same goes to hitbtc and ICO's are no.1 priority in their exchange.

Every platform has its own decentralized exchange site. But it seems not worth to use the decentralized exchange at this time. especially to trade ethereum token and assets how the fees were very expensive.
As far as i know that the fact that basically, the decentralized exchange will make you able to do a direct payment to the another user's wallet. that means you will be using the blockchain transaction every time.

Openledger is up and running but sparsely used.
https://crypto-bridge.org/ is also using bitshares-technology and is used more frequently (15 BTC Volume today).
they are adding new trading pairs almost every day atm.
additionally when you hold their own token BCO on your account you earn dividends.
I'm also looking forward for the upcoming exchanges of Komodo and https://www.altcoin.io/
exciting times ahead :)

Really? Even after they've been freezing everybody's funds for the past several months and handing over our information to the feds for a retroactive IRS audit? Bittrex is the problem and decentralized exchanges are the solution. Think you might be in the wrong thread because we're looking for solutions to exchanges like Bittrex here.

Exactly!!!
They can doo whatever they want. And they can easily slip away what they do.
I think different approaches to decentralized exchanges will take over centralized ones in the near future.

Reasons why there is no any true decentralized exchange is due to the fees, example buying a $20 of btc and paying $5 as transaction fee, also direct wallet to wallet will take some time, and as we know in live trading , a nano second counts..

I just know there are 2 decentralized exchange, those is etherdelta and waves, both I think good but in EtherDelta will be many ERC20 token available to trade than waves there only a few altcoin to trade there. Both is good because we get the private key, just need more volume and liquidity.

I agree with you are saying. Etherdelta is one of the best decentralized exchanges that I have dealt with in recent times and I had a lot of fun. There are many problems with Etherdelta like the horrible visual user interface, the laggy site, slow buy and sell orders etc, but its advantages like quick account creation, low transaction costs etc outweight its disadvantages which is why I recommend this exchange to anyone who are looking for a decentralized exchange.

EtherDelta is working good so far. Another one I know about is Idex, but its very young and has not much users and therefore not much volume yet. But actually it works way faster than EtherDelta. Oh right, I totally forgot to mention the Waves DEx, its actually my favourite decentralized exchange that I've used so far!

Bitshares is also legit as far as I have read, I will dive in and check them out soon.

Another DEx is BitBay, this decentralized marketplace is actually a really great platform, definitely worth checking out.

Don't bother trying to find out which exchange is the best, just find the one that works for you. The big names you’ll find on Google here have a peculiar notoriety for changing the rules when it suits them. In other words, your funds are not secure one way or other if you trust these centralized exchanges. I still use them for convenience and liquidity, but am moving farther and farther away as decentralized exchanges mature

But the majority of exchange sites are still working on their own asset. Just like bitshares asset exchange.I've no doubt about the bitshares scalability. The important thing about the decentralized exchange site is about the volume of the decentralized exchange site itself. Compared with the centralized exchange and still means nothing.

But at the moment I do not see an alternative to this exchanger.

In my opinion, among all decentralized exchanges the best is Etherdelts. In addition, it is the most popular.
At first there are little difficulties when working with Etherdelta , but then quickly learn to trade on it.
The greatest advantage of Etherdelta in my opinion is the ability to buy ICO project tokens at very low prices.

After hearing of accounts getting banned by Bittrex (supposedly the best-centralized exchange, currently), I’ve asked myself the same question a number of times. I’m sick and tired of running the risk of losing my Bitcoin due to an undeserved account ban, to which support won’t reply in many months.

I think the best-decentralized exchange doesn’t exist yet. But it’s about to, and I think it will be Altcoin.IO.
The project looks really promising to me because it’s backed by a team of knowledgeable people.
One of those guys is Nick ‘Pizpie’ Cote. And I know a guy who knows Pizpie. And that guy has insider info. Insider info which he relays to me.

From what I’ve heard, here’s what you can do on Altcoin.IO:
Set both a Stop Loss as well as a Take Profit conditional order at the same time. This means you can set-and-forget trades, something most other exchanges won’t allow.
Lend out your Bitcoin to margin traders, who use it to make short trades. You get a few percentage points of interest on lending it out, yielding you truly passive income.
To me, these are the 2 main features that other exchanges are missing.

This is an exchange by traders, for traders. I expect a lot from Altcoin.IO.

They are launching in early 2018, so it looks like the crypto community will soon get the decentralized exchange that it so sorely needs and deserves!

What are the best decentralised exchanges out there, and why are they good?
I am using etherdelta i think it is best decentralized exchange.
It is kind weird and it takes some time to get used to it but when you learn how to use it it is very simple. Whatever erc20 token you wish to buy you can find there and if it's not there you can add it manual.

I just use etherdelta for some new token. And dont know any decentralized exchange like this. but it is too slow. I still like use some exchange like bittrex, poloniex

Of the functioning ones now I'd agree with the rest and say Etherdelta, although the user experience may be disappointing at times.
On the horizon I think Kyber Network might be an interesting competitor in this space if they manage to launch their main network and in the coming months and integrate with some of the main wallets out there.

I think the best decentralized exchange is etherdelta (ethereum) because it is more popular than wavesdex (waves) or openledger (bitshares)

Just because it's more popular than those two exchanges doesn't mean it's the best decentralized exchange. There are more decentralized exchanges like Idex and Bisq, and even more are in development.

For me, waves is the best one. The transfer is fast and there is the possibility of fiat currency. Good whitepaper. just undervalued.

No more etherdelta it’s already lost it’s credibili now I am looking for the launch of OAX platform and also Idex is better compare to ethrdelta.Recent etherdelta dns hack caused lots of loss for users.

What are the best decentralised exchanges out there, and why are they good?

Etherdelta gives you a chance to exchange Ether and Ethereum-based tokens (ERC-20) specifically with different clients. This implies, you needn't bother with any agent to encourage the exchange. Ethereum Smart Contract causes you. Brilliant Contract matches individuals who need to purchase and offer tokens. The trades are not controlled by anybody and the code that empowers that

For me, the best decentralized exchange is Poloniex because of their good policy and privacy to each of members. But for now they are requiring valid id for the new comers to ensure to proper use of the said exchanges

Poloniex is a regular exchange like bittrex binance bitfinex

I´m using Waves for decentralised exchange. Fast transfers and you are able to deposit via Credit Card.

They best decentralised cryptocurrency exchange i know so far is changelly.com and the reason why i like their service is their anonymity.
Unlike others, you don't need to provide identification documents to start exchanging between currencies. Just an email and passaord is enough.
May be you dislike their fee structure but allmost better than other exchanges

I don't know any decentralized exchange other than EtherDelta. And I have used EtherDelta only a few times and I don't like it that much since I can't trade any coins other than the ETH-based tokens. Also, using EtherDelta is not as simple as using the other crypto-exchanges.

Etherdelta is not the best after they announced that they stop listing new coins. They are going to run an ICO and have very strange policy. I read info about radarrelay but didn't try it yet. If somebody has experience with radarrelay - please share.

Also I've heard something about Poloniex. I wonder is it true that Poloniex is crashing? Most people said that its just a piece of scam now. I really hope that it isn't since Polo was once my favorite exchange .

Poloniex is a bad centralized exchange. If you ask for decentralized ones, you can take a look at waves.

Binance will also make their DEX, you can display this from their roadmap. This will be amazing.

Personally I do not like Etherdelta, especially since the last attack where I was stripped of 0.5 ether, but it seems to be the most useful when exchanging, selling or buying many tokens even before they go on the market. But without a doubt its service is deplorable and therefore I will continue waiting for a DEX that really satisfies the needs of an increasingly demanding industry.

Poloniex is a centralized exchange. Their requirement to provide an ID has noting to do with as you call it "proper use of the said exchanges" but is them implementing KYC.

I have been using Bitshares Dex for over 2 years now and although there is a steep learning curve, once you get to understand what the exchange and the platform/blockchain or actually DAC (decentralized autonomous company) is capable of and what the implications of that are... You can actually don't understand it's no top 10 coin :)
But we'll get there :D

EtherDelta used to be OK, but under the new management they started to suck. Like, immediately after the announcement of the new management. It's not decentralized anymore, it's run by a bunch of vultures now.

I think Etherdelta is the best decentralized exchange that can be seen from the number of people who use this site to exchange their tokens. This site is also a based on ETH token, not imagine again if many tokens that listed there. But it's just hard to understand how to use that exchange.

This seems fair because they have high trade volume in their platform. In addition to this, I can say waves is the second best but people are not using it frequently so far. I don't know why.

Binance also said in their roadmap, dex was planned.

I absolutely hated using Etherdelta it was only used if the last choice and no other options. Forkdelta uses the same Ethereum smart contract and wallet setup but is far smoother than its earlier namesake. IDEX is a newish option and whilst it is easy to use it seems to go offline for hours at a time so reliability factor not there as yet.
