No need to be sorry! The answer was that you most likely had not downloaded the entire blockchain yet. Thus you only saw the difficulty from the previous difficulty since you were probably ~2050+ blocks short. I noticed the same thing recently when I ran testnet and saw the difficulty continually rise from 8 to 45 when loading the testnet blockchain. |
