I really wonder how and what will happen if bitcoin will be wiped out. What will happen to cryptocurrency, bitcoiners, and other altcoins if bitcoin is gone...??  ???

They would need to turn off the internet forever, so basicaly impossible now.  If they were to crack  down on any particular coins new ones would be created within hours.  Just like what you saw with silk road only its even easier to create crypto coins. Pandora's box is open nothing can stop the crypto idea.

It is impossible to wipe out bitcoin, why? because it is a decentralized currency, you need to deal with every people who use and mine bitcoin, because the people itself owns the bitcoin, if they're really want to make bitcoin erased then they need to shutdown the whole internet, because bitcoin uses internet to transact.

surely bitcoin will someday be "wiped out" just like any other older technology was wiped out. for example like how old forms of currency is wiped out now. you don't go to a store and offer then "rice" in return for groceries for example :D
that no longer exists. and bitcoin will no longer exist in many years in the future when it is replaced by something better by inventors of 100 years from now!

In order for bitcoins and other crypto currencies to disappear, you need to disconnect the Internet or make users lose interest in them. But now it will not be profitable for anyone and you can not panic.

There are concepts to other altcoins that whenever it was used or unused for a long time they will burned out or other will self destruct. Bitcoin is unique among them, it can't be wipe-out or destruct, as long as it is safely stored on a hardware wallet, as long as their are internet connections bitcoin is still alive and even government or CIA can not control of it or destroy, bitcoin is unstoppable and immortal.

If Bitcoin is removed. So, we bitcoin holders may lose a lot of money. But in my opinion, there will be stronger coins appear before Bitcoin is swept away

I don't think it can be wiped out completely. It can be crippled severely though. We've seen what happened with China. It's decentralized and it's anonymous, but countries can still have an adverse effect by targetting exchanges. Can you imagine how much Bitcoin value will plummet if Japan and US starts going after exchanges? I'm not saying it will happen, and it likely never will, since both countries seem to be completely open to cryptocurrencies. Still, it's something to think about.

I think too far to think about the loss of bitcoin, because now bitcoin has become a necessity in terms of investment or trade. Any possible way will be done to maintain the existence of bitcoin. If bitcoin were to disappear, maybe for a while cryptocurrency trade would move to ALTCOIN-USD, ALTCOIN-ETH before finding new PARENT as a reference.

You can wipe out all the BTC by turning internet off forever, or if all the users of bitcoin lose all their coins. Two possibilites that are very much impossible to happen in my oppinion. If all world bans BTC, then it would be sort of wiped out, but I surely believe that even than, it would be in use with some people. 

Bitcoin is banned and new internet protocol is introduced for security reasons that allows new international internet governing body to block unauthorized encrypted data and any packets having to do with cryptos. Basically they will require a license to transmit encrypted data and no packets will move without such a license. Done. Would solve proplems with terrorist organization communications as well so it’s only a matter of time.

Physically destroy bitcoin will not work. To do this, you must delete all nodes, which is very difficult.
Bitcoin can be destroyed by itself over time. I will explain: bitcoin is obsolete, accordingly slow, with huge commissions. Its value is too high. At some point its price will average and stop growing. Competets (for example Ethereum) are cheaper, more promising, faster, and thus sooner or later they can displace bitcoin.

In all honesty..the only thing that would wipe out bitcoin is to make it illegal. But even then, how would one enforce this? Blockchains are peer to peer meaning the internet essentially runs is. Are you going to shut down your entire countries internet/ PC base? I could only see anything like this happening if certain oligarchs managed to lobby enough..but again enforcement. I love the hypothetical question though.

The internet theory won't be happen anyway. The only thing can be is that bitcoin's technical problems like slow transactions or not getting confirmations from the nodes. This would be wiping out force for bitcoin.

What do you mean by wiped out? That Bitcoin will disappear? I don't beleive this is going to happen. The value can drop down but it will not be wiped out. It's very established by now and can't be gone over night, not without some terribly good reason or even disaster. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the future and in the few years time they will be inevitable.

It is not going to happen.There are various alternative options like improving technology brings new features to blockchain.

If this bitcoin will be wiped out all bitcoiners will go back to its original life when they didn't even no what is bitcoin.  This bitcoin play's  a important role in my life without this i woulnot be able to help my family interms of financial needs.
But i know this  bitcoin will never be wipedout, because this crytocurrency has a big potencial and maybe become our major currnecy, it is because theres an internet.

I  wouldn't be wiped out. As time passes bitcoin already built its foundation in many countries so we can say that it can withstand the struggles to come.

No one controls the web.and its certainly hard for someone to shutdown the server just to wiped out bitcoin on web.however if the goverment step in It will be a different story.
Once the goverment decided to disable bitcoin.theres no way we can do about it. They will just make a protocol under their jurisdiction to ban people and company to hold, buy and sell bitcoin it means no matter how much bitcoin you made you havent made a dime until you've cashed  it out.it will just end up useless. I hope those type of situation would not be happen in real life.

To be honest, they cannot wipe bitcoin out. And as the other users said, they need to shut the internet down because bitcoin is used only through the internet since it is not a real currency. In other words, it is the currency of the internet. And in fact, they cannot shut down the internet because this world is based on the internet and they would not shut it down due to the use of bitcoin. I mean it is not a big down for them.

The fact that bitcoin is a crypto currency is the reason why they cannot wipe it out, it will remain in the sytem and no one can have the ability to delete it. The only thing they can do is to prevent people on using it which government can really controlled that is by the way of banning transactions regarding bitcoin like what china do. The government can do some legality issues to prevent the circulation of bitcoin.

It is impossible to wipe out bitcoin. The only thing can happen is for the price to drop very down but I dont think thats ever going to happen. We all have an advantage from using bitcoin: people can pay with it, shops sell their items so government takes a tax for that. If they can earn even more money why would they try to wipe out bitcoin? There is absolutely no reason

I think the cat is truly out of the bag now and it is unlikely to want to get back in there again (metaphorically speaking). No on can know the future but I would compare cryptocurrencies much like the internet of 20 years ago. IT is very early stages yet and I would think we are categorised as early adopters. When the masses adopt this, it will explode beyond belief.

If some crypto will take its place just like ethereum, if ethereum step up more and grows more it will be a threat for the bitcoin and it can lessen the users, investors,and also the value of bitcoin it will stive down and the economy of bitcoin will crash if the ethereum steps up. But that thing will only happen when the bitcoin will be under by the ethereum and when the bitcoin is not used by people. I think theirs a lot of thing will happen after that.

I think if bitcoin will be wiped out, or should i say banned, all of your earnings and investment in bitcoin will be gone that will cause you tk lose money. Great depression will happen to those people who lost a lot of money because of investing money to bitcoin. Also, those people who spend a lot of time and effort earning bitcoin will be depressed because all their hard work will not be rewarded.

Bitcoin will be wiped out by the encryption-breaking ability of quantum computers. As new forms of quantum computers are developed, one will be developed that will rapidly expand the speed and capability of QCs. It will happen so fast that the devs will not have time to increase the hashing difficulty, or to implement QC themselves.

I think it will never never and never happened in life time because if they wiped out bitcoin they must need to turn of the whole internet all over the world because there is a lot of ways for bitcoin to earn it and invest so I think they can’t do it and the time will come when the people who invest in bitcoin will make their life goal.

Yes you are right they can’t stop people to earn bitcoin and invest bitcoin because they will need to deal with the people all over the world and to those who just earned a lot of bitcoin and also gain a lot of money using bitcoin if they only talk about bitcoin wiped out then people will come out and then all over the world the value of bitcoin will be known by those who wiped out bitcoin.

Lol. Nope, Bitcoin will always be there no matter what they do. They have to get rid of the whole world's connection through the internet, first before that can happen.

Bitcoin as a kind of crypto currency can not so easily disappear. He is pretty well protected technically from all sorts of troubles that can happen to him. However, even if we assume that bitcoin suddenly disappears, then this should not practically affect the existing altcoyins.

That's one trillion times impossible.. I don't think your just thinking negatively or you might be on something else,, if your dreaming it might be a nightmare already.. Bitcoin will not be gone and it will still be on circulation all your life.. It might be replaceable on its place on top but for thinking about its extinction will not be happening as long internet in the world is on..

Why I keep on seeing these type of threads about wiping out bitcoin, bitcoin is dead, what if bitcoin is gone? Are you guys sure about your questions, you don't have to worry about this thing. Bitcoin is growing and will be keep on growing so instead of asking these type of questions learn on how the market is reacting about single news that are published and on how the decisions of the big market movers in bitcoin.

It would never be wiped out. You can take a life or destroy something but you cannot destroy or take an idea.
There are just too many people who believe and want the same thing and that is financial freedom and the ability to be in control of their own money.

Bitcoin will technically exist even if only a handful of people use them. If that's the case they'll be worthless but they won't be "gone". It would have to be something utterly majorly better that came out in order to compete with bitcoins and just take over (which clearly no infinite supply shitcoin like eth is going to take over).

In my opinion it may lose it value but never be wiped in the market . It always climbed from falling . Even its keep crashing because of some reason. cause all of the currency has a volatility since its started to emerge in the market.as of now October first bitcoin value starts climbing i think the predictions of crypto community will be granted. I hope it will continue to climb and be stable and locked into 5000k or more.

They are believers but I don't know they are very worried too much about this thing. They aren't even looking at the charts and the history of bitcoin, these people really wants to bring some members here to have a fear effect to sell their bitcoins for bringing up this type of question.

I think it's impossible. Bitcoin can only be harmed by a quantum computer. But by the time he appears - the guys from Bitcoin Core will come up with something to avoid this.

I do not think it can be completely deleted. It can be severely crippled. We have seen what happened to China. This is for Anonymous Decent Countries. Most likely bitcoin will change. Will become cheaper to operate. It is more convenient for business users and ordinary consumers.

And if this does not happen and bitcoin is frozen in place, then it is doomed.

Here no doubt that bitcoin is written data in the online internet but with this you should know correctly that it is that technology with which many banking industry are fully attracted and want to accept the technology of bitcoin blockchain .
So you can understand well that how much the system of blockchain is stable and much more safer than banking system .
So here in bitcoin you are much safer than banking sector services to put your money .

Very honestly i think that the posibalities are always there, because no one can be 100% sure about bitcoin, and i think we already have good experience in past, therefore we cannot anything for sure. but still we can expect that bitcoin will remain as for a long long time time because currently the uses of bitcoin are increasing from time to time which is making bitcoin more powerful and stronger.

Wipe of bitcoins is very impossible happen, many country and people support them. Bitcoins is like a water of river with no end, no man can predect that the bitcoins wipe.

Near by days i heard that famous chase bank CEO Jamie Dimon says that soon or later they are going to introduce their own crypto currency which is more sustainable then bitcoin. This cripto will be one of the main opponent for bitcoin. If bitcoin doesn't respond over this crypto currency, then the consequences may needed to face them. sometimes there is is chance for wipe out bitcoin also......

I see it more as becoming redundant if we progress with AI technology as predicted at some point the need to transact in money of any kind would have little meaning to a form of super AI which would be able to organise world resources in superior ways. AI likely would collaborate with other AI almost instantly. Trade happens now because people disagree, money is needed for trade.

I do not think bitcoin will disappear and will not be deleted for now. unless there is a lot of chaos and some other. Even if it happens they just need to turn off all internet channels forever. But for me for now there will not be anything like this, if it happens only the government can do it because the government plays an important role in all this.

I doubt bitcoin will die.  ;D however if it really happen then cryptocurrency will die. All bitcoiners will go back to the way it used to be. No more extra income for me and to everyone etc.

I think I better answer a question that goes like how to become very rich with bitcoin than one with so much pessimism like this. Bitcoin will not be wiped out because people are still trusting bitcoin. It is going to be stronger on the contrary. Perhaps it will reach half a million or even a million US dollars first before it will finally succumb to so much pressure from all sides.

I think Hashgraph has some potential to shake up the crypto world in the future. But ATM Bitcoin is doing all time high again so maybe nothing to happen in the near future.

They wanted to bring down or control the internet but that never worked out.  The gov can cause some damage but the whole gov idealogy is only strong to a point. I dont think they can stop true change over years/decades, they never have.

I don't believe that Bitcoin will be wiped out in the future as a whole. Day by day Bitcoin is getting popular around the world, Though Bitcoin is as an automated system so there is a little chance to be disappeared of Bitcoin.
If you have taken an example like China then you can be able to see that Bitcoin has come back strongly in spite of regulating panic of the Chinese government, from this case we can learn that Bitcoin is not a simple thing that can be wiped out completely.

I think Bitcoin can only be destroyed in 2 ways:

1. No electricity (due to war or disaster) which means the internet will no longer exist.
2. There are richest people who buy all the bitcoins and never sell them.

The first way will make all cryptocoin (BTC and Altcoin) die because there is no internet network. Whereas the second way just make Bitcoin die, but not with altcoin. CMIIW.

It is hard to imagine how bitcoin can be eliminated. Maybe if internet suddenly shuts down but it is impossible because internet is life nowadays. Everything can be operated thru the internet so goes with bitcoin.

This bitcoin play's  a important role in my life without this i would not be able to help my family in terms of financial needs.

Already quite a good experience has been accumulated in cryptothermia and the process of developing crypto currency can not be stopped. I think it will be too hard for any other altcoin to even replace Bitcoin in 2-3 years, so wiping out completely is out of the question here. We may see some clashes between miners and community but extinction is illogical at this moment.

Simple. By having a fork that is actually supported by the majority of the community. That means core must support it first, which makes the process kind of centralized.

i think if bitcoin will drop in continuous period with passage of time .and also if other digital currency gives more profit this is the reason that .if bitcoin will be wiped out in the future.

You'd need to have the entire network collapse, either due to everyone leaving the community and shutting down their nodes and mining operations, or due to some extraneous circumstance which forces them to be shut down, such as a large government crackdown and/or censorship for Bitcoin-related content and traffic or a severing of connections due to warfare, terror, etc. which would completely disrupt the network for a long period of time with zero inter connectivity between users.

This is essentially impossible to have happen for the time being, and if such things were to happen there would be a lot more issues than just worrying about Bitcoin.

Basically the internet is too large for them to manage all crypto transactions. So, if btc or altcoins disappear then that is also the day when the world no longer exists. But I do not think that's going to happen now, so many countries have announced their acceptance of btc and other virtual currencies as a payment method and most of them are big, have the strong economy in the world. So you do not need to worry about this. The worry is that your country will ban btc and altcoins. No one likes it.

I agree that bitcoin will not be erased, and nobody will be able to remove it or shut it down, because bitcoin is getting ahead its progress is getting better, and many people use bitcoin to be invested. and bitcoin until now I think it is good to be an investment.

how could bitcoin be abolished, while there are still many people who use bitcoin and there is still internet network, if both of those things are gone there maybe bitcoin will be abolished but that in my opinion impossible

I don't think bitcoin will extinct,but if that happens then it will be the end of all the crypto currency no crypto can survive if the bitcoin doesn't because the bitcoin is the king of crypto world.But the bitcoin cannot be wiped out because bitcoins are all over the world the only chance is if all the countries banned bitcoin at a time then bitcoin will be worthless because investing on them is illegal if they are banned.Bitcoin don't go anywhere but the prize becomes zero if that happened that means the end of bitcoin.
