So when do you think the next bubble will occur? My guess would be within the next 6 month.

I think a small bubble will form in 3 months.

I think the market reaction to either the June or July Fed meeting minutes will give us what we need :trlf:

Next major run up will occur between mid sept and early December 2013.

Seems plausible. We still may get our $10,000 Christmas present, but in characteristically suprising and volatile fashion where we spend several months in a relative lull then explode higher on the tails of some major news.

Should happen now, as all the alleged money launderers from LR move to Bitcoin. Unless the volume of criminal activity was orders of magnitude lower than the official version. Which is impossible, because states never lie. Therefore the rally is now on and the charts are lying.

Bitcoin is too volatile for criminals. It appears they are moving on to WebMoney Dollars.

Voted: between 6 month - 1 year, just a gut feeling.

I see two main possibilities:

1. If there more terrible global financial news BTC will explode up and continue on with it's symbolic Cypress march.
2. Without #1 (or something akin to it) BTC will probably have another wave up in the next 6 months, maybe much sooner.

We have to consider that its global attention is growing and if and when the limited float falls behind the demand, things will get violent in an upward manner.
Consider one large hedge fund putting in 10-100 million dollars, and then another, and then another.

We are sitting at a crossroads in a sense and the regulatory issues seem to be less and less a fear here. We are probably ready to take the path less traveled.

honestly i don't care when....I hoard coins like a crackhead hordes smack....what interests me is wether the rise will be in the 500-1000 or the 2000+ range. remember id say the uptrend started at 13.5 and we got al the way to 266. so 2000+ should be possible if we experience a similar uprise

I am still on the "slow decline, buy in on the way down (or in a couple of months)" plan.  Guess we'll see just how much history repeats itself...

I voted 6 months to a year as a conservative vote but really, it could happen tomorrow.  I learned that after investing in BTC just a couple of weeks before the huge spike.  Of course, we bought as it went up.  Oh well.  We have not lost anything if we average it all out but it would be nice to get those 100% returns in a week again. ;)

i'll take a swing:

the rest of 2013 and 2014 will be much like 2012 (bitcoin only went up 186% in 2012).. mostly slow and steady increases.  some time around 2015/2016 we will see another parabolic move which will take us >$1000 and most likely > the price of gold per oz.  at that point the media headlines will be insane.  "bitcoin now more valuable than gold" and you'll have people debating bitcoin vs gold.  a rapper will rap about bitcoin/SR.  the bubble will probably crash to less than the price of gold, and consolidate either around $1000 or the price of gold per oz.

over the next 2-3 years:
- bitcoin economy continues growth from influx of VCs + entrepreneurs
- more exchanges and decentralized exchanges: Buttercoin, Coinsigner, Bex.io, Ripple, RoboCoin ( bitcoin ATM) all try to solve exchange problems
- killer apps: could get integrated into browsers
- could see bitcoin start to get used more on phones like Mpesa in Kenya
- larger companies start to use bitcoin to reduce costs or just accept bitcoin as payment
- another Cyprus
- in 2016 the block reward halves again
- Winklevoss ETF could get approved and hedge funds start buying in as a way to legally invest in System D
- bitcoin will actually be increasingly used for remittances (still needs a lot of work to help the non tech savvy in 3rd world countries)
- people bet on the 2016 election with bitcoin, especially since intrade is down and that was the go-to election betting spot (hopefully Predictious can gain some traction)
- Walter White discovers SR and solves his distribution problems

this storm is brewing, cant wait to watch it play out :)

To be honest, if all of sinner's above points come together, $1000 could be the new $20. $10k is the real milestone, if there have to be milestones with bitcoin.

In a few years time when 1.35 billion Chinese realize there are only enough circulating bitcoins for each Chinese citizen to own 0.004 BTC, they'll make a Chinese alt coin.

As in, Chinacoin (CNC)? ;D

I hear that. I'm still can not fathom the highs and strength on the usd/btc market recently. I would not have guessed we'd be so close to 1000 at this point in time even when I was being optimistic, even though I'm a long-term bull.
