I've used Coinbase for years. I have had one issue. The issue was more of a misunderstanding than anything else. When I announced I had an issue Coinbase froze my account for nearly 48 hours. They were able to quickly restore my account and they were relatively responsive throughout the ordeal.

I know others have had a lot of complaints about Coinbase, but I believe this is partially due to the fact that (1) they're dealing with people's money and (2) when it comes to bitcoin money, when it's stolen it's gone forever.

Coinbase is a very established and public company. They operate by the rules because they have to (and I believe because they want to).

Faults of Coinbase:

• They haven't been able to scale their service and support to match there demand
• They don't have a Community Manager on this forum, which would help address and alleviate some of the complaining we've seen

Coinbase is legit and is one of the most used bitcoin exchanges in the US; but I'm pretty sure they're not giving free bitcoin. The app you're referring to might be a fake scam version of the real Coinbase. Make sure to download the right apps:

Coinbase is a safe/regulated wallet, but you never want to leave your coins on exchanges. Your best bet is to get a Trezor or Nano Ledger.

Yeah it is safe if you are on to buying and selling, very responsive supports. Only downside of this site is when you use their wallet for gambling purposes. There are a lot of accounts being banned daily because of the bridge of TOS and once account is blocked or banned due to gambling all funds will never be refunded so be safe.

I have used coinbase for many years. I think coinbase with blogchain are two of the most popular bitcoin catalogs in the world, but coinbase when you spend a lot of money and costs when you have problems, support is long when the amount of bitcoin transferred from outside into my coinbase wallet and pendding a long time ago through 48 hours the amount of bitcoin has lost  ;D

One more challenge with Coinbase (but it doesn't apply only to Coinbase).

Keeping your bitcoin on exchanges gives up control over your money. Banks go out of business. Bitcoin exchanges are banks. And if a bitcoin bank goes out of business there are very few that are covered by insurance, which would refund your balance in the case of theft or mis-management.

Just be careful with your coins. Keep them safe except for what you plan to spend...and if you must use an exchange, find one that will pay you interest on your balance. You should be compensated for the risk you take. Coinbase doesn't pay interest...make sure that factors into your decision to work with them.

Coinbase is a reputable exchange for Fiat to BTC, LTC and ETH. So far, I don’t have any problem with coinbase.

You mentioned about claiming free coins using coinbase at play store. I haven’t heard of free coins except there is a referral welcome bonus of BTC at the value of USD 10. Other than this, please be careful and do research whether the “free coin” is real.

I am a regular Coinbase user. I am using Coinbase in Web Version and Android App both. It is two years I am using Coinbase. I don't face any problem or critical issue by using Coinbase. It is perfect for Bitcoin wallet. It has a high-security system, such as 2FA security system. No change to hack your wallet. Coinbas always safe wallet for Bitcoin.

I use coinbase before (2016), and i dont experience any problem from that wallet. I used that wallet for almost 4 months and its so useful and very easy to use. But since i read that coinbase is a web wallet, i quit to use this and change my wallet into a offline wallet like electrum. And never bring back my old coinbase wallet. So i dont know if coinbase had an issue by now. But using coinbase wallet before, im satisfied and no issue.

I would too recommend coinbase among online wallets. But in long run, you'll be paying a higher fees. They don't let you select the fees and pays one of the highest which though make the transactions fast, can be costly in long run.

It's true that, my journey with Coinbase remain safe until now, so far using this exchange site without facing any single problem. Very beginning try this as a wallet to claim reward such of many apps. But, you might right to know that the history of coinbase service really suck.

I have not used their app, but Coinbase is a legal business and that means if there is a problem you have legal support. I think of them as one of the most trusted exchanges. However, the only truly trustworthy system is to run a node with your own wallet. That is my opinion.

It also may depend on scale. If you have $100 and want to spend it from your phone then an app is great. If you are managing $100K you would be foolish to just leave it at a website for storage. That is also my opinion.

It's safe enough for small amounts of BTC, but if you have a substantial amount that don't want to risk losing for any reason, store it in a more secure off-line or hardware wallet.

Are you serious, dude? Coinbase is the safest place to keep coins :D lol . I hope you just kidding. How centralized exchange where you don't have full control of your coins can be safest place for holding funds. 2FA is just basic safety tool, if you need for real security, you have to hold your private keys at least, and it's still not enough. Only paper and hardware wallets can be called as the safest place to keep coins.

Honestly, you could should not use any app for storing your coins. It could be bitcoin or alternative crypto currency. These apps are not safe for the coins. Make sure not to use the exchange wallets as well.
you should use either hardware wallet or at least desktop wallet whose private keys are with you.

Claim free Bitcoin are scammers. Spent a lot of time and energy getting referrals for this when I first started with crypto. They changed the rules suddenly so you had to pay satoshi if you had over 50 referrals to join their VIP program.
They then banned me without reason as they didn't want to pay out. Check their play reviews for similar stories. Avoid.
