Title: Best GPU to buy? (Unmetered electricity)
Post by: nana5522 on September 28, 2017, 08:54:29 AM
Hey guys, I'm searching for some time for the best GPUs to buy for mining. Over the sites and the forums the only thing I see is "efficient mining costs less electricity..." and so on but I have currently unmetered electricity so I don't care about efficiency.
What I care about is having the best hash rate I can get with my budget not regarding on how much electricity it will cost.
Can you suggest me the cards that fit my question? Or a site where I can compare cards with my criteria ?

Also a little question, if I have a good card that mines eth for example, will the card be also good to mine other gpu crypto?
Thanks in advance!

ZEC with 1080ti, which has additional hash increase with power consumption.

You can visit the website of Nice Hash. There is a calculator which will approximately give you the opportunity to calculate the power you will receive on the alleged equipment. Only you have to remember that the indicators may change downward.

Older cards such as the R9 290X may be viable if your power costs are not based on use.

Do note that you're not the only one looking at powerful older cards, so the savings aren't always amazing.

Additionally, while the power costs themselves are not a concern, using old powerful cards typically increases your PSU requirements compared to similarly-performing cards of newer generations (and that typically increases PSU costs, as well).

In fact if you don't have dependents about electricity then it would be much better to use the nvidia 1070/1060/1080. Because I was looking at all the data and also has the advantage that massive is the type or series vga, just that it is indeed to be able to achieve a benefit or ROI takes quite a long time. But in terms of ability, strength and endurance also I believe vga series I mentioned it is extremely profitable.
to your own site you can compare them here (https://whattomine.com/)

ETH is only GPU mineable (with GPU vRAM req.). The best (highest hashrate availble) GPUs so far are 1080ti for most algos & vega for ETH

I think gtx 1070 and 1080 Ti should be good for mining most coins. Vega looks like a good GPU, but I havent tested it yet.
