Title: Too good to be true
Post by: Wrxtasy on September 28, 2017, 06:51:03 PM
I am new at mining. I found a site for hardware, but it almost seems "too" good to be real.

Pls pm me and I'll tell ya the site. I'd rather not post it here. If it's not a scam, I don't want this site to get soldout! Some items require bulk, but not all of em. It's still almost "too cheap" with their prices.
My gut feeling says it's fake....but maybe I just found a great deal!

Any help is appreciated!

Contacted via PM, received link and can see they are selling SP50  (claiming they have them in stock )  ... it's definitely scam.
Stay away.

Thanks for looking! They almost got me!

The site is salebitcoinhardware.com

It's a new site. Less three months old. And located in the phillipeans. And the prices are just cheap enough to almost convince ya that you struck gold!
 Grrrrr... Scammers!!!

Is this for real? Im only few kilometers from the mentioned address in their site. If I have a time I can go drop there to see if they are really operating.

As always, if it is too good to be true, well than probably is.

Always listen to your gut, if not, you will, when you will get a little bit older and more experienced.

Sometimes you just have to get scammed, we all went thru that, I surely have.

Best case scenario: you'll find a virtual office with nobody in there working. Definitely a scam

Exactly.

One of these days if Im not busy I will locate that virtual office. But in such case that there is really a physical store there, I want to research more if they are legit. It's easy to check if they are operating legally. Their site can't even afford to pay a https which is need when dealing on buy and sell so I think their online security is not really secured.

You can tell us what the deal is without giving away the site. It's not the site that's fake, it's the deal (potentially).

So what's the great deal they're offering on hardware?

Keep in mind that if it's too good to be true, it probably is...especially in the world of bitcoin. Everyone is just one dumb idea away from getting scammed.

At first i was surprised about how that many legit sites advertise for so many scams (not just in crypto but in general). But then most do not care what advertisers put on their webpages. As HabBear mentioned, if it's too good to be true, it always is... everyone is in the business of making money...
Good that you asked for help in this forum. Great people here.

Pretty sure a lot of these "cloud mining" sites are HYIP Ponzi scams..

I think they have more than one such site, and several, for more attraction. Those who host their sites, they do not check them for honesty, so you need to be cautious, it's better to use proven and with good feedback than to communicate with ghosts.

Do you think this is a scam too?

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Antminer-S9-13-5TH-s-with_50036365964.html?spm=a2700.8443308.0.0.KNe1sc

I am wondering if there is any legitimate places out there to buy an S9 for a good deal. (good deal meaning, bulk discount or some minining farm that is upgrading and selling off the used stuff..   ???

I see alot of alibaba places selling miners. Some are cheap, but they want a min order of 3-5.

Difficult to say if this Alibaba offer is scam or not, but if you want sleep well, better look for legit developer as Bitmain. Nowadays is a lot of scam around..

Many things point to it being scam so be careful of this type of orders and announcements because too good looking things can have different meanings as in this case!

if you want to mine in this way I advise you to use the genesisminig or the hashnest and between these two I have the same thing as you can get what you invested and use when you want
