I can give you some insight into this, although I am not a huge altcoin expert I do know a bit about them.

My recommendations:

1. STOX - This altcoin (actually a token) has tons of potential. The development team is spending millions to market it.
2. DeepOnion - While I do not believe there is much unique about this coin, it is the only real competitor to Monero at this point.
3. DubaiCoin - This coin already rose 400x in value. That should say enough.
4. Ethereum - I have the add this in here simple because of how much potential ETH has (it is arguably the only crypto that could feasibly overtake Bitcoin)
5. ZeroNet - ZeroNet is a WAVES token that has amazing developers who actually care about it, not only a pump-and-dump like most others.

1. Litecoin

litecoinKak i Bitcoin, Litecoin yavlyayetsya tsifrovoy valyutoy, kotoraya generiruyetsya v protsesse mayninga. Ona byla sozdana v 2011 godu inzhenerom kompanii Google Charl'zom Li. Kriptovalyuta Litecoin schitayetsya samoy dostoynoy zamenoy Bitcoin. Prezhde vsego potomu, chto
1. Litecoin

litecoin Like Bitcoin, Litecoin is the digital currency that is generated during the mining process. It was created in 2011 by Google's engineer Charles Li. Crypto currency Litecoin is considered the most worthy replacement for Bitcoin. First of all, because the number of Litecoin coins is limited to 84 million (in Bitcoin it is 21 million). In addition, the significant difference between these crypto-currencies is the transaction confirmation rate. If you need 10 minutes to create a block with Bitcoin, Litecoin takes only 2.5 minutes. This means that Litecoin can process much more transactions. The cost of 1 Litecoin to date is $ 2,83099.

2. Dogecoin

dogecoin22Some consider Dogecoin the most strange crypto currency, since the history of its creation. Initially, it was conceived as a joke and was not taken seriously. But it was on a wave of jokes that the crypto currency could enter the top five of the world's most famous crypto currency. Dogecoin was created by the programmer from Portland Billy Marcus. He wanted to create a crypto currency that would be closer to a larger demographic group, while distancing himself from the history of Bitcoin. Crypto currency was named in honor of one of the most popular Internet memes of 2013 doge, in which the hunting dog of the ciba-inu is depicted in various variations. Despite the whole joke nature of the venture, Dogecoin can be mined and exchanged for goods. The limit of Dogecoin coins is set at $ 100 billion, and the maximum cost reached $ 400.80. To date, 1000 Dogecoin coins are valued at $ 0.12.

3. XRP (Ripple)

xrpSome compare XRP with the exchange of debt receipts. Crypto currency XRP is part of the Ripple payment system, which supports instant payments between purses with a near-zero commission and the exchange between any currencies on an advanced trading platform. In fact, XRP is an official "intermediate" currency, the rate of which should not affect the efficiency of the payment system. The inventors of the system created 100 billion XRP coins, and this is the established limit. At the moment, Ripple Labs owns 67.5 billion XRP coins. The rate of crypto currency is now 1 XRP = $ 0.01.

4. Huntercoin

huntercoinThe concept of Huntercoin crypto currency is very exciting. This is the first crypto currency, which includes "human" mining, and can be generated by P2P-game. The game is to manage the hunters to collect coins in another dimension with the help of strategy, time and teamwork. In other words, this is Blockchain-based alternative reality. The more time you give to this and the better the players are organized, the more coins you will get. Huntercoin is derived from a modified version of Namecoin, which is based on the Bitcoin code. Transactions take 1 minute and are limited to 42 million. The rate of Huntercoin is 1 HUC = $ 0.02.

5. Peercoin

peercoinPeercoin positions itself as a "green" alternative to traditional crypto currency, which consumes a lot of energy, since its emission requires less power. The creators of the currency assure that thanks to the technical improvements of the Peercoin it is much safer than the bitcoins that can be destroyed if the miners join the criminal cartel (controlling 50% of the capacity). In addition, unlike other crypto currencies, Peercoin holders do not have a hard limit on the number of coins. But there is a single "but": annually issued coins reach the inflation rate of 1%. The market capitalization of Peercoin is $ 8,605,602, which makes it one of the most powerful Altcoins.

At these times, promising altcoins are of course still ethereum, litecoins, waves. Ripple has decreased a lot but it is speculated to bounce back since it's gaining popularity and presence in asia, still risky though. Neo has gained a lot with a 30% price surge, it's gaining a lot of support so it might be good for short term or even long term investments.

Ethereum, Ripple, Monero, Social Coin, Electronuem. All these coins are in my favourite list currently and I'm trying to make better portfolio from them. As we all know ethereum and ripple has been long players in the altcoin market. The ethereum with small glitches now a days staying at 300 dollars but somehow after the hard fork it should get pumped and I'm hoping that to happen soon. Ripple is facing some lawsuit due to there very nature of regulated currency. But they will get back in action too. Plus there prices are very easy at this point and we can grab more than enough ripples.

Monero is mineable that's why it catches my eye for an investment and I keep putting some portion into it for the future purpose. It looks partial bitcoin to me.

Social coin and electroneum are new ones, the former one is already on the exchanger and is trading little higher than the ICO price. Looks good profit to me  in next month or so.

Keep an eye out on coins that have bottomed out, e.g. SNM, SIA, Wagerr, or Game. There's upward potential. But do your own research before putting money into any coin. Happy trading!

We can see from the age of coins, volumes ect
If the sales volume of coins is high, usually the level of interest is crowded
Example of ETH with 1504.0 volumes, then select the coin

It depends entirely on your investment goals. Do you intend to invest for long term with lower risk and gains or invest for short term (some of these "short term" investments can turn into long term ones) with higher risk and potential gains?

If you want to simply invest in cryptocurrency but don't want to risk a whole lot, I would suggest some of the coins at the top of CoinMarketCap.com list. These coins won't double or triple in value in a short period of time, but they will gradually increase in value over time, with the potential for some serious gains in the future. These coins are also less susceptible to market crashes and won't lose as much value during them.

If you want to invest in projects that can potentially double or triple in value within a short period of time (something high market cap coins will not do), then you want to look at coins that are not at the top of the CoinMarketCap list. Try to find projects that have the potential to be at the top one day. The lower market cap coins have the ability to give you substantial profit within a short period of time, but on the flip side, they also have the potential to substantially lose value within a short period of time.

I hold both types of investments currently.

Some of the high market cap / lower risk investments I have are:
ETH
LTC
NEO
OMG

Some of the lower market cap / higher risk investments I have are:
FLO
MUSIC
NXS
NXT

I feel like it's a good idea to diversify and avoid putting all your eggs in one basket.

Good luck.

I'd say Walton chain coin, WTC on binance. The swings are frequent and daily. Alternative hold it long term, $20 next month on platform release.

yes indeed stox had a great potential cause of their budget in doing project. ethereum is universal coin but i dont think deeponion would be that great. but who knows i might end up wrong. just keep tracking 50 top coin and you might found out what you looking for.

I joined stox's ico but it purely lost. Hope goes up again. Ethereum, I hold around 4 of them on my wallet. I also have ltc, dash, zcash, etc and waves for trading. Small portions.

Can't say when to sell because all coins need you to wait long term once you get in (at least the ones I am going to let you know about, here).
First three are BTS, GNO and GBYTE because these three coins are extremely undervalued atm.
The other two are WAVES and NEO which look extremely great projects and especially WAVES, because it has not yet seen its real ATH that it deserves.
Other altcoins look like they are just trying to hypnotize users through the daily randomized pumps and they are nothing else.

in terms of short term/ positional trading and NOT holding, i'd say any alt coin that has a health amount of volume that isn't going on an insane bull run.

given that fundamentally it isn't a scam coin, and technically that it should be somewhat of a low dipping point, profit margins should be in your favor so long as you do your research.

safest best is probably the top 10-15 coins with highest trade volumes in your exchange (must be a good exchange with volume).

I currently trading this altcoins short term and long term
1. Monero - high potential to grow more because of low transaction fees and totally anonymous and it has large of group of traders active in the market.
2. Siacoin - future of cloud storage. this coin is currently undervalued so I do long term investment.
3. Stratis - allows companies to create their custom blockchain applications. That's the next big thing! (long term)
4. Ethereum - No need to explain (short term)
5. Litecoin - currently the price drops after reaching its all time high but litecoin still one of the best to trade (short & long term)

Do your own research about market and coins you wish to buy.
If you listen to people here you will probably buy coins which they want to sell.
I can only tell you don't buy coins when they are in bubble or when they have straight down line.

Check out Propthereum.io. I have been looking into them lately and find what they are doing very interesting. They are an asset backed cryptocurrency on the blockchain and are expecting a 1566% coin appreciation in a short period of time. All proceeds raised from their ICO will be used to purchase A-grade property worldwide generating a rental income and underlying value for the PTC token holder. I find this to be a great concept as the coin will always increase in value. They are launching this month so take a look and let me know what you think.

There are too many severral coin for trading. If you have a best knowledge to analysis to coin then you can make a better but i'm sujjest you not only 5 coin must more coin use for trading. No one coine all time in this top market if i told you Wevas is top one but it is not a all time in this top least. it is nay time change but we just share with only 5 coin that is make a better profit for you. SWP, ETH, BTC. BTCH, and Wevas is a most profitable coin in this market.

Altcoin is good market start with as it is cheap and profitable most of the time. Well if you take it that way then yes it is. Its simple market with choice of investment into different coins. However it is always recommended to invest into projects which are holding big market capitalism in the long terms. This ensures the prices will can be achieved to highest depth and thus it makes easier to invest into them and get profits back.

The right time to sell is always to go with how much your profit is in that open trade or how much you wishing to earn. If you wish more then look for the chances of hiking of that coin otherwise just sell with whatever profit you have earned.

My absolute favourite and easiest coin to day trade is Binance Coin (BNB).

It is immune to market conditions (such as BTC fork) and you never know which direction is it heading too, but the fact is that it is very volatile and if you buy at the bottom, you know it will go up eventually during the day (last months it's covering 0.00400 - 0.00480, so if you buy at e.g. 0.00405, you know you will be able to sell for more later).

Reason behind is that it's only trading on one exchange, so for it to go from 0.00400 to 0.00480 it takes like 5 ETH, and since people need this coin for trading with low fees, they are willing to pay for it at any price.

In my opinion, for trading, coins with a large variance in price are more suitable. Usually these are new coins. It is in this case that you can earn a lot and quickly enough. But this option is dangerous (here a large share of coins can be a small group of people and they can control the market, so that the variance can not play for you). So you need to have 100% information before investing money. Deposits in ETH, XRP, LTC, BTC cash, DASH are more similar to investing. Here the risk is less, but the profit of the coin will bring most likely in the long term.

My top five altcoins for trading are:

1. Iconomi
2. Gulden
3. NEO
4. Ardor
5. Stratis

Iconomi is good for trading because the price is quite stable at some points.
Gulden has quite a stable price which is rare in crypto and will continue steadily growing over the next couple of years.
Neo seems to be the chinese ethereum.
Ardor is trying to compete with ethereum aswell
Same goes for stratis

Here are my Top 5 as per my opinion:

1. Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
2. Ethereum (ETH)
3. Dash (DASH)
4. BitConnect(BCC)
5. Zcash (ZEC)

As you can see, these coins has the highest market value as of this writing and if you will look carefully through each charts, it only signifies that the price may continue to rise up faster and will continue from years to come. Also, add to the fact that their market average transaction is around 500 to 700 per hour, expect a sudden rise and fall for the price. It is wisely suggested that if you go with the coins that I mentioned, you better be active and focus to monitor these coins.

More power to you shills :D You are relentless and nothing could stop you from selling your sh*tcoins to the unsuspected noobs. LSK/ Waves/ ETH/ ETC/ BTC/ LTC/ IOTA are the best coins for day trading, But for the last two days price of bitcoin has increased so much that investing on anything but bitcoin seems like a dumb choice.

If you mean best coins for daytrading instead of long term holding then i'd really recommend coins that have small market caps. Usually $10-100 million is a good place because you have the liquidity and you also have a lot more volatility.

for me, it's dogecoin and potcoin. Both are extremely volatile but when it gets pumped, it gets pumped hard and it lasts for quite a while.

For doge there also predictable patterns you can follow.

zero net, I think it's good value for trading, with zero value people will make a wise choice
with a zero rate can reduce the burden of spending

Are you sure about to include the bitconnect in your list? What the heck you are promoting the ponzi coin just like bitfinex and shame on you with your signature.  a lot of people just stay away from bitconnect right now

Almost all coins now blown away from 50% and below compared to the beginning of summer. So you can safely buy almost any of the top 50 and wait for profit. But now I would have waited. Coming the first real FORK of the white ball. A lot can go wrong, the network would be unstable and everything will jump in the window. Not only the cue but also of ALTCOIN.

Just a little suggest for me :
If you want to trade just choose what altcoin you like and based on their volume on 24 hours. Build your psychology about that coin you choose and you dont care if the price going down. Put them become your mindset. So you will trade with enjoy. So for me there's not top altcoin because all coin are good if you already learn all about them. If you can do it the profit always following you

I think doing your own research about altcoins is better for taking suggestion . Because altcoins prices value change in every moment . So, do your proper research which coin is good and which coin price is in low rate then buy altcoins and after that you can trading.

My 5 favorite altcoins are :
Ethereum
Centracoin
NEO
Litecoin
Dash

I do my own research and find coins from the top 20 coins of coinmarketcap list which are Ethereum, Dash, Monero, Ripple and Waves and these all coins are best coins for trading because of high liquidity. These coins have very high trading volume and have not much volatility like low price altcoins.

Title: Re: Top 5 altcoins for trading

I always choose altcoins from current top 10 coins in the market. I always check the real price of coins on coinmarketcap then I decide what will be the best coin for trading in the present. I selected Ripple, Ethereum, Neo, Ethereum Classic and Dash and I choose these coins because trading volume is very high on these coins So that whenever I want to sell my altcoins. I can easily sold my coins because of high trading volume in the market.

I would suggest as below.

Ethereum is only one that is competing with bitcoin. It has ability to grow itself. At least for a short term it can be profitable.
Monero is also has a ability to grow since it has some partial amount of traders compared to BTC.
Siacoin is a good one for long term holding.
Litecoin has one of in top 5 place because it can be good for both short and long term.
Ripple is a good one to hold for long. But i could see much growth in short term. Now is low. I think its because of raise in BTC.

They change every week, so you will just have to look at the top 5 most volatile coins on the exchange. However, as a general rule of thumb, NEO and FUN often have frequent spikes. Just not now, since everything is falling like a hammer.

I like Stox and ETH, they are both good, stox is quite undervalued now, so they will have a major pump soon.

Stox is a new prediction market right? Why will it be better than Gnosis or Augur? Seems like those two have a head start.

Yeah what I was reading about STOX it seems like Gnosis and Augur. Actually there are really a lot of interesting concepts right now. But is any of them actually working?
For me it seems all the ERC20 tokens are so far some kind of "gathering money" but almost no one of them actually realised a good project.

So far all the coin which are out we can divide in three categories:
1. Coins without functionality like Bitcoin, Litcoin
2. Coins with functionality and already working like: Ethereum
3. Coins with functionality and not really working: all the ICOs

But basically not a single working system of all the ICOs came out so far.

Trading with altcoins this days its really hard, most of them are going down while bitcoin is going up. Good ones are holding some price but when ever I check prices of my altcoins they are having small fluctuations and their price tend to fall more then to go up.
I hold my altcoins and I think that now its good time for buying some altcoins and storing them. They will make some rise again like they did in one part of this year. I`m waiting that moment and it will come.

ETH will always be one of the big four in terms of trading, simply because of its high volume. This was greatly aided this year by the load of ERC20 tokens that have come up. Smart to need Ethereum blockchain to conduct trading and sending, this really pushed ETH away from danger of losing all steam.

Bitconnect/QTUM/Ripple/BCH - come on, these are all just easy riders going up and down according to the rhythm of Bitcoin and Ethereum. And yeah, Bitconnect is already marked as a ponzi. Fair warning given, should take heed, guys.

It depends what type of trading you are looking for, one strategy I enjoy is trading low value coins as they have large margins, for example dogecoin is currently at around 15/16 satoshi, that's a 6% margin right there if you can buy/sell at those prices

Yeah even I am new to these alternate cryptocurrencies, but I do have a couple of friends who hold great curiosity towards these and also do invest in the same.As much I know I have heard a lot of people investing in Ethereum as it is gaining much popularity nowadays then we have Litecoins,Dash,Bitcoin Cash and a couple more such cryptocurrencies which are trending now.So I would suggest you to take your time in knowing these cryptocurrencies and investing in it wisely. And off course the time to sell these coins is when the prices hikes and the time to buy bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies is when the price drops. We should use the fluctuation of these cryptocurrencies to our advantage.

You need to identify coins that are trading in a somewhat fixed range for a good amount of time. This way you can time your entries and your sells accordingly without having to guess too much the tops and bottoms.

I like to do this with Adex, OmiseGO and Eth - 3 coins i know have a good project behind them so they're bound to recover sooner or later in case things go wrong.

Do you all think there are certain altcoins that are good for trading and some that are good for holding only?  For example, imagine a coin that is around 5 dollars.  But it keeps going from 2 to 7 dollars only.  It rarely goes less and almost never goes higher than that.  It basically goes up during highs and dips during lows.  Wouldn't those coins be great to daytrade if it keeps going back and forth like between 2 and 7 dollars etc?

Pretty crappy list in my opinion, and I think I can do a lot better.

1. Bitcoin (obviously, BTC is king)
2. Bitcoin Cash (yes, it is up there right now for being one of the better coins to trade with)
3. ETH (OK. I admit we think these 3 are the best, but my next one is different.)
4. Monero (This one is used exclusively in the dark web right now and has completely replaced Bitcoin. Due to this, it has great value because it actually has utility unlike most altcoins these days)\
5. Litecoin (While Litecoin has been dying recently, it is still up there in branding and most long time crypto users are very familiar with and probably even owned it at some point, which is why it makes my list)

Actually your list is the exact same as mine except I don't see why you put ETH Classic in there. hahaha

I believe that the best altcoins for trading are those with the highest trading volume (for example ETH, BCH, XMR, XRP, etc.).
Why? The very nature of trading means you buy low and sell high. The more you do this, the more you earn. With high volume altcoins, you have more opportunities to do this because the price constantly changes.
