Post by: Rajahdat on September 29, 2017, 01:23:53 AM
Anyone can help me pick out a good mobile wallet..I know this question has been asked a lot but I want to know from personal experience.
I'm receiving a good amount of btc from cloud mining and where I live they just installed a bitcoin ATM and wanted to know what's a good wallet. Tryed jaxx but it didn't let me send my btc out had to take private key to send to my exodus wallet.
Any help it useful thanks

  • Mycelium
  • Electrum
  • Bread

Search on the playstore on your phone. Don't search on google the first time as there has been scam phishing websites that have been popping up a lot recently.

you can start using blockchain and electrum ,, I think these are the two best purses I have ever used to make transactions, in addition to the address we can set itself and also the transaction fee that we can reset depending on how much fee we will use in transact .. as long as I use a variety of purses only these two wallets that I think is better than other purses

i don't have any problem for using jaxx even for sending or receiving. the other wallet recommendation is mycelium or coinomi. mycelium is the same jaxx but don't have other coin and its saving btc only. but coinomi have a big list of altcoins so if you decide to buy altcoin, you can directly buy in that wallet.

Hey mate i recommend to use Blockchain or mycelium it is safe and secure cuase it has private key that helps you to control your wallet . And i suggest also to pick or choose a right wallet that support also on your country . Do not search anything on internet cause there's a lot of stupid people making some ponzi site which is Clone site .the same wallet design . So dont forget to search if it has a private key to avoid phising  wallet. . Cause most of phising wallet has no private key so it is obvious to know What is scam and the real wallet. . I hope it can help .

I'm your help. Check out this choose your wallet site (https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet), click on "Mobile" if that's the type of wallet you're interested in.

They don't have all the wallets, but it's a good start.

Once you're familiar with your options, check out this wallet comparison site (https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/#/overview). The wallet comparison site is more complete, but they don't break it down by mobile vs. hardware vs. etc.

Good luck, let us know which one you choose and why!

Yea. Here's the download links for multiple platforms: https://electrum.org/#download

Though on iOS I'd personally prefer BreadWallet. There's something about slick user interfaces that makes me always go for them; but of course feel free to try both. Also, good choice of staying away from Jaxx. It's not much of a safe wallet. Breadwallet link: https://itunes.apple.com/ph/app/breadwallet-bitcoin-wallet/id885251393?mt=8

I have always used mycelium and I've never needed anything else. Electrum is nice on a computer but who uses those these days? Mycelium supports everything I need such as having easy access to your private keys and easy paper wallet sweeping.

I've been using blockchain and xapo, until now their security system is good and still safe but honestly I prefer blockchain rather than xapo. I don't know why, but I still don't really like using xapo.

I second Coinomi. Its a more secure solution than Jaxx. In case some of you didnt know theres a vulnerability in Jaxx that can extract and read your seed in plain text.

If they updated their wallet then good. Disregard this post.

The recent appearances of fake websites have provoked me, i lost some money because of my carelessness. Please pay attention to the links before clicking your mouse.

It's our responsibility to check those fake websites and apps as they are scattered everywhere and you should be aware about that. It's very easy to know about those fake apps that are rounding all over the play store. Just visit first the website of those mobile wallets and try to look at the link of their suggestion for the mobile app. That's more convenient and easier way to secure yourself from those phishers.

Haven't you heard that Coinomi has a vulnerability issues as well? It was found that "Coinomi app is broadcasting all of my Bitcoin addresses in plain text over the network."

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2215088.0

I'm not really sure about the Jaxx issue if they have been fix and updated as well. The only choice I can gave you is Electrum or Breadwallet if you are a IOS fanboy.

I take it back. I dont recommend Coinomi anymore. Apparently they have been using Electrum based servers but without SSL enabled. This is bad because all the packets of data you send over the internet can be sniffed and be seen in plain text.

Coinomi was informed by a developer named John Sterling but Conomi didnt handle the situation very well. They acted unprofessionally and immaturely. PR suicide commited.
