I guess the site has a built-in mining script.

Yeah exactly. We use coin-hive to mine monero with javascript, convert to bitcoin, and then donate to Anti Malaria Foundation.

Why then you didn't mention that in you OP & try to take advantage of us ?
Besides there is nothing that proves that you'll " donate " those earnings to any mentioned (or not mentioned) charity ?

So what's the point of this turn around while you could've been so straight, you could've got lots of users if you were hones.

Sorry, but i don't get this idea..  ::)
Is it kind of fundation where we can make donations and website script in some way is connected with miners? How?
Can you give some examples, please.

@fachant Sure...

1. We use https://coin-hive.com (https://coin-hive.com) which uses your CPU to mine Monero
2. Everything mined pooled together and donated to https://www.againstmalaria.com/ (https://www.againstmalaria.com/) (the #1 rated charity)

You can watch distribution videos here: https://www.againstmalaria.com/Distribution_Videos.aspx (https://www.againstmalaria.com/Distribution_Videos.aspx)

So basically, you are converting energy into mosquito nets.

and how can you convince that its not only you who will profits with this and it will be shared to those who in need I understand that mining monero
by using our cpu will get some decent rewards but its not convincing that you can save a life after you mine monero.

@carlisle1 thanks, that's a good point.

So, $2.50 buys and distributes a mosquito net.

A conservative estimate, for how many nets you need to save a life comes from here:

The world's best charity can save a life for $3,337.06

http://www.businessinsider.com/the-worlds-best-charity-can-save-a-life-for-333706-and-thats-a-steal-2015-7 (http://www.businessinsider.com/the-worlds-best-charity-can-save-a-life-for-333706-and-thats-a-steal-2015-7)

Quote
AMF is one of only a handful of charities that meet the organization's strict criteria, says Catherine Hollander, an outreach associate at GiveWell. That means it can then be put under heavy scrutiny from the non-profit's research arm to root out how far a dollar actually goes. The final number after copious number crunching: $3,337.06.

100% of the money they get buys nets.

You basically want to get people to mine for you so you can donate the money? People might as well save their cpu and send a dollar over to the charity of their choice.

@zeeks A lot of people won't send money but they will keep a tab open.

I like the concept, i'm hoping that the project is legitimate though  :-\ This would be a very generous thing to do for those children which have to suffer through those conditions. Please promise to donate those earnings to your said source, would be an extremely disturbing way of fraud if you chose to not donate :(

@redectro

Our names and reputations are behind this. We are donating everything except server costs.

I'm looking for a way to make donations totally transparent and automatic, and happy to take suggestions.

Our current model is using this:

1. https://xmr.to to automatically transfer the monero into bitcoin
2. then, making that bitcoin wallet public
3. and then, using bitpay's API (with help from Anti Malaria Foundation) automatically donating to them

I'm not sure this will be sufficient, but I suppose this way anyone can verify the amount of bitcoin going in, and where it is going. Very much happy to get feedback on how to do this. Looking for a simple solution that will make all funds 100% transparent.

I don't think smart contracts exist for monero, or we would probably go that route.

What do you think? Would #1, #2, #3 be good enough for users to verify donations?

Interesting idea, helping peoples just by doing a single click, I think everyone would easily willing to do it.

Reading your project is very fascinating to me, living in asia where there are so many malaria cases, this project will be very helpful to a lot of people in here. I like the fact that it's very easy for people to help, just by opening a tab they can not just save a life but make someone else's life a whole alot better, but just like the rest of the people on here I also have my doubts. It's kind of hard to help and open a tab when I don't know if you're legitimate or not, You really need to prove how legit this project is in order to gain trust and donation from people.

Really like the idea, in utilizing the mining technology to do a charity, and the way to do it is really simple that most people able to do it.
Really good job (y).

Thank you for the kind feedback everyone!

@kumiskura

You are right, and I want your help and anyone else who has ideas on how to do this. I want to make the funds 100% transparent and 'trustless''.

Any ideas? I will post a question on the monero subreddit for more suggestions.

Good work guys! 2 nets donated so far. It doesn't seem like much, but that is two kids who get to sleep without getting bitten by mosquitos. :)

Hmm, I just tried on Firefox but no crash. Could you send some more of your system specs so we can try to replicate the issue?

Question 2: How do you stop mosquitos from biting you?
idk, mosquito repellent and a lot of clothes, covering everything... but still may be no help
