Title: Custom Rigs Experience/Pictures
Post by: siforek on September 29, 2017, 06:18:28 PM
As some of you know I recently jumped into the mining business. I didn't like any of the open air cases for purchase or the Youtube DIY builds so I did it myself. Here's the finished products.

7 GPU

13 GPU

I'm using 3/4" tubing(some w/flange) & connectors from http://www.estoconnectors.com/ (http://www.estoconnectors.com/), 1 T-Bar(per row of GPUs) & a bunch of T-Nuts from https://8020.net (https://8020.net), various odds/ends & a black 12x36" laminated shelf board from Home Depot cut to length.

All in the 13 GPU frames were about $120 in parts/shipping each. 7 GPU rigs were about $90 The most expensive part being the custom milled T-Bars. You can do it without the T-Bars but then you'd have to let your GPUs just rest on the tube or screw your risers to it & hope you never need to space them differently.

Perfect :)

You can slide the risers as needed to spread out cards, then tighten till snug.

I have full parts lists with all part lengths if anyone wants to duplicate or do something similar. Any feedback or ways this could be improved would be helpful. I've thought of selling these just because I already jumped through some hoops to get good prices on parts & they're pretty easy for me to throw together now.

Great setup. i just hope you're not running 13 Rx cards with just 2 x 1000W PSU's ... Under linux with whatever limited tweaking you can do to voltage, that's a combined load of about ~1800W which is too damn close to the peak.
