There is no hard and fast rule for that. The general rule is, buy at dips and sell at high. However, you need to track the market very closely before you know when to buy and when to sell. There is no rule or checklist which can tell you the exact time. That comes with experience. Also patience is a must have quality for any trader. If you are new in trading, try youtube. Lots of videos are available to learn trading. Start with small amount and as you grow confidence, gradually increase the amount.

Depends on how much are you willing to risk and afford to lose. I personally buy every week irregardless of the price and I plan to hold them until I profit by at least 30% no matter how long it can take. That's just my personal rule about buying and selling bitcoins as there aren't any rules about that. Also, one of the best times to buy is when everyone is uncertain about bitcoin or if the price is taking a beating. It is usually followed by a series of bullish runs which will give you profit in no time.

in cryptocurrency,you will lose it if you sell it lower than your buy order.which mean no matter what as long as Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still alive.

Quite Interesting but may not be feasible for everyone.
Suppose your previous week Bitcoin rose by 30% in next week cycle then will you buy or sell in that week?
For me best time to buy is when I really feel to have some. No one could predict best time, so I buy in situations like huge break downs or smelling big profits in less time period or any other day when I have excess funds!!
Same law applies to selling. No one knows best day to sell. Just fix your profit aim and sell if it reaches there. If not then settle for less in case you need funds. Otherwise if your funds are idle then keep hodling till aim price as sooner or later it will come for sure.

Buy when its low and sell when its high, its as simple as that. But the trick lies in judging upcoming highs and lows from the past behaviors and news going around, if you can predict well, and you have guts to lose, you'll do well.

Watch for coins. Some of them grow up without news. Others on the news. Bitcoin is often unpredictable, but reacts to the news. In General, if the market is stable, no bad news, it is better to keep the coins and sell at the top.

I can only tell you the biggest mistake I have made in trading is panicking... buying and selling within a few hours thinking the price is crash/rising and will never go back to what it was when I bought/sold. This is not a good strat. :P

it is very hard to tell really... But I would say that sometimes when it has been going down for a while, and then stops around a price for several days, it is more likely to go up than when it is only moving down.

Same when it is high... it is has been rising for some time and then stops for several days (as it happened around the 4700-4900 recently) it is more likely to go down.

i thini no onec an be sure about buying or selling bitcoins in a right time. we only analyze about the price of bitcoin, we study the market, getting the opinion of the expert and then decide what should be do, either we should buy or sell bitcoin. to me in present time my person view is that we should hold bitcoin in present time because the price is expected to increase and hopefully will cross 5000$ in next few days. therefore i think that we should hold bitcoin in present time.

You should always have a system, always have a plan when trading. Are you scalping or day trading. Do you plan to buy and hold. Trading is not that easy specially if you do not have a strategy. Know first what is your plan before learning to buy and sell.

OP all depends on the amount of capital that you want to invest in crypto Currency. If the amount is huge enough and you can endure for a long period of time, it means that you can buy bitcoin at any given time. But if the amount is not that big and you cannot invest for a long period of time then, you need to wait until has decline dip base on history before you buy and sell when it value appreciate.

What i know is that there is no rule for when to sell or buy. Buying bitcoin and selling bitcoin is the same thing with buying goods when its value is low and sell when its value increases. Since your intention is to make profit as an investor or a business man, what you need to do is to buy low hold for a period of time and sell high when its value appreciate.

Honestly, there is no certain answer set to the stone about trading, as there are a lot of coins and different prices, different devs and different interest for each one. in general, you should check the price all the time, check the charts to know the lowest and highest point, buy in the dips and set your % profit, like 5-10% to sell the coins. But, if there is another news/information/prediction if the coin will rise further, then hold it for a certain time. For example;  we know that bitcoin ATH is $5000 and its price was $3500 few days ago, buy it and set % of the profits, even sell it right now will be profitable, but hold it for long term until it reach $10K will be more valuable.

Basic thing is to buy low and sell high its a nature of trading if you are weak in hand when you are seeing the price getting low just like in bitcoin and sell it in low price you are not getting profit..
You should holding your coins tightly and wait for a long time and if you see the price is increases sell your coins . to get profit..
And always follow the news because only news can change the movement of the price and check the trends if its high trends and expect for the price increase of this coin sooner.. it is not just you are buying you need to check the background of altcoin or much better to stay trading only with bitcoin.

When should we buy?
- when you have money that's ready to buy bitcoin.
- when you are ready to take the risk of bitcoin's volatility and as it's been said that it's a good time to buy bitcoin always but much better if you'll ride the dip.

When should we sell?
- when you are comfortable in the current price and it brought you profit, there's no regret with it as profit is totally a profit.
- when you need cash.

everyone has different responses about selling or buying. most are speculators by reading news they can buy or sell. and strongly recommended you also like that because the role of news is very important to sell or buy by reading the news we can estimate the coin is worth to sell or buy

Just remember the lines that I learned: " Buy when there's blood on the sreets". Do a lot of buying when everyone is afraid like what happen now after the China ban. Btc is quickly recovering after that event. Selling depends on you whether if you are satisfied enough then sell it.

You should try first to weigh your capacity for trading. If you're the sade kind, then set buy and sell orders dependig on how comformtable it is for you. If you're the type that likes to play risks for bigger profit, trade with alt coins. As long as you sell always with profit and never buy high sell low

That is a question that everyone wants to know :D . When is the right moment for buying and when is the right moment for selling? For that to be known one must be active in world of Bitcoin. That mean to research market of Bitcoin, to be in time with all relevant news about Bitcoin. With that you can predict a bit closer when would be right time to buy or to sell.
If you do not want to do that much work, what i would simply recommend is to wait for dump. In that moment price will surely go down. Or on events like China ban of ICO, or 1st of August. That time price of Bitcoin went down, and that was good time to buy it.
As far as selling is concerned... well that one is a bit tricky. That depends on what you want to do with your Bitcoins. Holding so far has proven to be best option, but not everyone can hold their Bitcoins. So simply said, you can sell your Bitcoins when ever price is above what you paid. If you sell your coins for more than you paid, you made more money and it is a good trade.

there is no 2 ways about it , I don't day trade since am a newbie, I monitor coins and i always buy when they dip reserving some to buy again if it dips further and sell high.

As I think: we should keep track of news, events
if there is good news. We should buy in, and with bad news we should cut losses and wait for market prices to fall.

We all know, buy when price fall and only sell when the price comes up. But for sell, we have two option, for profit or just cut loss. Time to buy/ sell no one can answer the right time, we only can see from the price. Using long time period for trading/ investment will help us to find buy/ sell area. Thank you.

Just keep buying, as you know the lowest price it drops. And wait for it to rise for sale, at a higher price. You do just that and do not have a deeper explanation of what you said. It's just basic, but it contains something that's hard to understand especially if you're a beginner with bitcoins

Buy when ever price drop 5% form your existing rate.
sell whenever you are getting profit off course you can stop loss/take profit.

a good trader is that who should buy bitcoins when the rate of bitcoins is falling from the existing rate and they start selling bitcoins when the rate of bitcoins start increasing from existing level.

You are free to buy at any time and sell at any time for all depends on the purpose for which you want to buy the coins. But it is advisable if you are buying it as a store of value, you will need to buy low and hold for a period of time, then sell high and take your profit.

If the amount of bitcoin or altcoin and the price is much lower to 4000$ I think that is buyable already and if in that case if your only intention is for daily trading, you can sell it at around 4400$-4500$. I alway buy or sell according to TA, but taking into account the fundamental analysis (news background).

According to my great experienced in bitcoin you should buy more and more bitcoins whenever you feel that bitcoin rate graph is falling and you should start selling bitcoins whenever you feel that graph of bitcoin rate is increasing. It will always give you profit.

Well buy your bitcoin whenever you get a chance to buy it because no one will ever know how will it increase and its non-prediction is due to unpredicted  number of people using it.  So buy whenever you get a chance and of course you will have to sell the when it value is higher than before.

What I know is the long term holders will always get the best profit. And if you are not rushing, don't you sell and much better if you buy. There are so many people that are holding their bitcoins and once accumulated the expected price for bitcoin that's the right time for them to sell. Well i do it always that i find the opportunity on the market, i dont trade on randomly times, only where there are a few good news or some events that affect the price on bitcoin /altcoins. So it is not random for me, i try to do it always that i have some time to investigate it, and take profit from that.
I bought eth a few weeks ago when it was 0,065 btc each one, and i sold it when the price touched 0.075 a few days ago, so it is better to buy when the price is affected by a bad new.

As being a good trader it’s a big logic of all traders that if you want to do holding trading then you must buy the goods at the time when people start them to through them to the street dustbins and you must sell at the time when every person have need of goods then you must sale at time it will be good forever for you.

Buy as soon as you receive good news from altcoin and sell immediately if bad news is received. I often use this and limit a lot of risk. I think when prices drop you should find the reason and need to remind between selling or buying

I dont get the point on here but well its really normal for traders or investors to sell out if the price is on the peak and buy if the prices is on the dips but this kind of thing isnt really easy to determine because we wont even know if the certain price range is already the peak or the bottom which most of us would really make false assumptions and mistakes but still we would really need to risk specially when we do have strong basis on where would prices would go.

It's a big one and cannot be answered in four lines. Buying and selling depends on what type of trader you are, whether you are investor,or  day trader or swing trader or fundamental trader or technical trader.

For example fundamental trader buy and sell on fundamental news and on major events whereas technical trader takes positions based on his trading setup like hammer and shooting star. The first thing you need to do is establish your trading strategy. Everything else falls into place from there. I actually buy and sell bitcoins and other altcoins when there is heavy amount of volume is going on and when the price is standing on major key support and resistance levels. I always try to follow the trend and i anticipate the trend using Dow's theory and then take the buy and sell positions according to that, because once the trend is in your favour then you just need to time the entry, and it is just like Surfing the sea with power and direction of wind along with you.

So the basics you would need to understand are the support and resistance levels
These are levels where the price touches and recovers from and are tested multiple times
Needless to say you should always buy at support levels.

I was buying till the price was below 5000 usd and now the price is too high to buy bitcoins and to be honest its not affordable for me as price can go below 5000 at any point of time so its an big risk to buy bitcoins now so either I will wait for some more days to see if price falls as that would be the good time to buy bitcoins and if price goes higher in coming days then won't hesitate in selling a part of my coins.

if you are talking about trading you have a lot of things to consider, if you see red candle it doesn't means  that you need to buy coins, you should study first the coins in 24 hours oh how does it moves, and then look at the candle always at the last bar, there's something in the bar that you need to know the meaning, example if you see red hammer bar, it meas to say you need to buy coins because that means the coins you buy will increase anytime.

Thinking its too high right now may one daw haunt you when the price hit way higher. People are saying a few months ago that  btc is too expensive at 1.5k but look at where we are now.

for me, there are plenty different strategy in terms of trading bitcoin. you can research first the coins that has potential and invest the 50% of your capital for long term like 2-3 years. then the other 20% trade it using technical analysis and fundamental analysis. while the 30% buy the dip. sell when profit even 10-20% only :) in bitcoin market there is always a red days :) hehehe

it has no rules and regulations for keeping money in trading. when you want to keep just keep it. here no more discussions. actually first you  have to check few parameters about trading next you have to invest in that. and investing in bit coin trading and eth coins also one of the good for earning money.so if you want to invest just invest in bit coin. because bit coin has great demand to day.

Bitcoin's price is continuously increasing right now.  I don't know how other people think but for me,  it is a good time to buy bitcoin now.  We don't know but I feel that bitcoin will continue to go higher and if these happen we might lose an opportunity to earn greater profit if we won't think of investing now.

It is away advisable to buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high. Now that bitcoin is at it peak it is better to wait and not to buy. Buying now may not give you instant profits accept you want to wait for a longer time if the the price may improves.

I actually finding a seller but didn't found one because they know that BTC has a bigger future and can hit maybe around 6-7k before the fork ends and people said that it can hit it's goal 10k by the end of 2017 and looking that it would be possible.

As far as selling of bitcoin is concerned, it is pretty understandable but buying altcoins is very absurd thought. Why you want to waste your money and time on altcoin when you have a great option available in the form of bitcoin? Exactly. Selling your bitcoin in exchange of altcoin is I think not a good idea and it's so unwisely.
Like having a bitcoin is a blessing to all of us so when you sold your bitcoin in exchange of altcoin is just like throwing a gold bar and picking a stone.

First if you want to buy altcoin you need to find out the normal or reasonable price of the coin, maybe by looking at the graph, you also need to find out the coin information you will buy, I think if you want to sell you must have targeted what percentage of profit.

They're depend on bitcoins and altcoins even they know its risky. Well those peoples are smart enough with great experience. They know when to buy and when sell it. They always keep there eyes on news in order to update. These people are called real traders who know exactly what to do at what time and make a right move in trading.

yes I agree you.If you want to buy so,you should know the past value of the Bitcoin.If you think ,the current or certain time price is ok to buy.You can brought with confidence. You should sell,only if the price of bitcoin is raised n times of the price you purchased.If you ok with particular percentage of profit means,you can sell it.

Sure, you have made some profit and this is only good for someone who is trading often anyway.
However, remember that it is easy to sell at highs  but you also have to understand that it is possible after selling, the demand will keep increasing and the bullish trend may not quickly stop and it is good to know when to get in back at that point, most especially if a resistance line is breached.

There's no rule that tells you specifically when to buy or when to sell your bitcoins. It's all up to you, if you feel you've made enough profit from the market then fine you can pull out of the market or if the loses are becoming unbearable ( it all depends on what you want and the benchmark you set for your profits).

I strongly agree with what you think about it because there is no point at all if we bought a lot of the type of coins but very difficult to redeem the same time when the price from experience increase in.I recommend if you want to do first trade must have the ability of a more mature first supay earn up to.

If you are holding bitcoins and if price starts declining then should have patience to hold it till the price is recover as if you sell when price is low then it will be an unprofitable move to make and in altcoins sell it as soon as its giving you some profits instead of holding it too long.

I think we should buy as soon as the price of Bitcoin is down and all altcoin will certainly be lightly pumped and we should sell it immediately if the price of Bitcoin increases for a short time because all the altcoin are due Bitcoin prices decided

The price of bitcoin is too high now so its not the right time to get into bitcoins and we should wait for the price to drop but if you are looking to invest in altcoins then this is the best time to do so as all coins are in red zone and if you invest now then in next couple of months you will be making good profits from it.

It is a really great opportunity and I am sure most of the altcoins I have saved up now at the extreme lower dips will even give me more profit when they get pumped back up than the BCG which I don’t even know its fate yet and I am sure it will dumped pretty bad. That's a simple trading plan. Buy when you feel the price is low and sell when you find yourself satisfied with the profit earned through the price growth. I only know the basics I need to know to determine when to buy and when to sell. The point is more towards price movements, and I should really be able to take advantage of fluctuating price movements which when I see price movements tend to decrease, it's used to buying and when price movements tend lead to a rise of course it's used to selling. But predicting on price movement indeed is not easy, it's good for me personally to predict it (observe the charts of the price) with a calmly mind without hastily determining it.

well it depends on the price the common thing always happened repeatedly is buy btc in low price then sell it during the high price .because if we  buy btc in a high price it is a big expenses and   a great possibilty of risk or maybe loosing.but if we buy it during low price  it is an opportunity.because the profit is always there when you hold and sell it when the price  begin to rise.

A simple rule that most of a trader flow is buy when the price is dumped and sell when the price is pumped. Being a trader we follow a two simple steps, buy when the price is dumped and sell when the price is pumped. Two simple steps but sometimes hard to follow. I usually buy in falling markets but I use diversification technique to maintain the average purchase price as low as possible. It works for me when I buy 20% in first order, 30% in second order, 50% in last order in the falling market and while the market is rising, I revert the method so it becomes 50% in first order, 30% in second order and 20% in last sell order. However, if it is working for me doesn't mean it will work for you too so please do your own research before blindly following/adopting it.

very simple in my opinion, in the prediction just to buy at a cheap price when the price goes down and we can afford it with a lot, then we sell at the time the price rises or the value is high and that's where will enjoy it .. simple but must be careful and wise to take the opportunity and the decision .. do the best for ourselves so the results are satisfactory ..
