Title: Bitcoin for US Stock
Post by: Rejjee on September 30, 2017, 03:51:44 PM
New to the forum so forgive a dumb question.  I have looked here and searched online.  Has anyone been able to trade Bitcoin in exchange for US Stock in a private company (start-up or other)?  Not a pre-ICO discount coin offering but coin to purchase stock?  Could be an off-shore early coin investor looking to diversify, or a US investor through an SEC approved PPM or other?

There have been a couple of attempts at creating Bitcoin ETF's that I assume would be traded like mutual funds. So far those requests have been denied as far as I know. This probably would be a good way to get investors into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

It's probably going to take some time for that to happen. There are still a lot of unknowns about how governments feel about Bitcoin and how they will treat it (currency vs. commodity).
