There was a 2000 BTB instamine by the dev and bitbar insiders. That represents over 60% of all BTB in existence.

I'm ashamed at Vern for supporting this scamcoin.

Not a fan of premining and instamining is definitely a put off. There is a market for the coin and its been staying stable. For the moment it makes money. Anyhow the pool is up to 35 MH's lets get it to 70. Oh and I voted not to ban hazard because under his brash trollish front hes a big teddy bear who cares for all of us :)

I was wondering, how is it all these pools are 0% fee, even the popular litecoin one? Do donations really cover the server costs?

This parrot has his chart ready to post at a moments notice. I'm sure many value his opinion.

Vern goes off donations always has and on top of that I tend to always get my expected payouts. Great community and great pools.

One exception is if the pool gets to 51% range he charges fees to discourage and now shuts down registration.

Thanks for adding this.  Its great to have more pools/distribution for Bitbar.  I hope everything is configured correctly because it has not found its first block yet.

Instamined by the devs just like any other coin, including BTC. The only 'relatively fair' coin is NVC, where the devs publicly destroyed their coins after a massive hate attack on the forums.

NVC was pre-mine, and only less than half of the pre-mine were publicly destroyed.

I don't think insta-mine is as bad as pre-mine. Every coin has to start by rewarding early adopters, otherwise no one would help to promote it. If a coin start with sky high difficulty, it'll just be dead in the water with no one mining it. In the long term, the insta-mine portion is tiny compared to the total amount of coin that will be produced. You can think of the instamine as a bounty for early miners/adopters.

65k were premined and 110k (65k premined + 45k instamined) destroyed. At the moment of destruction, 110k was about half of all coins.
But it depends on your 'pre-mine' definition. NVC was announced in Russian section of Bitcointalk, just like CHNcoin was announced on a Chinese forum, but who said that coins must be announced in English?


You can also think of the premine as a bounty for the developers. A coin can be launched at moderate difficulty if the devs release the source a month or two before launch, so that everyone can get ready, including pools.

Bitbarpool has a major problem. It has not found a block in days which is very unusual at this low difficulty.   I have 190k of unpaid shares and its just sitting there

 Whatever was broken before sure seems fixed now. This pool is solving them like it was Sherlock.  +10 more for BigVern, hooray

Did anyone else not get credit for block 15,632? its acting like it was orphan, but not marked orphan.

this pool is on it's own fork now, tried mail the support email paul@bitbarpool.com but the address seems not working

 Coins i sent from here to cryptsy early yesterday never have been credited either. All yesterday, last night, and todays mining we apparently will not be getting credited for either.  No reply yesterday from big vern in email either.

Might have been a skipped block.... That was happening on some of Big Vern's pools

 ... and its gone.   Pool does not seem to exist any longer AND payment requests from days before it was taken down are not being honored by BigVern at Cryptsy. No word at all

Ewwwww .. that's not a good sign..I was a fan of Big Vern, he used to answer the questions of miners in his forum promptly, no matter how inane they were..

Seems to be back up (bunch of orphans in block history, not surprisingly), but still not a single word from owner.
I got no reward from 20718 to 20,769, those are confirmed and after it seemed to forked at 20772.

The silence from pool owner is making me not want to use any of the pools listed on cryptsy...

 
 Big Vern did make good the coins that werent showing up at cryptsy.  We did lose most of our mining from the 21st, and all of our work efforts from the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. No explanations or emails to anyone though.
