Title: 7970 undervolt by what amount to start with
Post by: pgbit on June 01, 2013, 10:14:42 AM
Just wondering, whats a sensible figure to undervolt by initially? I have read that you can undervolt more over time. Just wondering what a sensible and safe figure to aim at with a new setup. I have a Powercolor Radeon 7970 card, also a Gigabyte one. If anyone has stable settings, please post them with clock speed, mem clock, MH/s. Thanks!

2 x Sapphire Radeon
1100/350/1175  620 Mh/s
1150/350/1100  640 Mh/s

Temps around 75C

thats really helpful, thanks, is that at around 1.17 volts or a bit lower?

I run mine at 1030 mV (according to Trixx... GPU-Z says they're actually running around 0.95 V), 975 core, and 825 mem. That keeps the temps around 77 C in a non-air-conditioned room, and gives about 580 Mh/s per card.

Eraserhead, how are you running the memory at 350? All of the AMD drivers I've tried force me to keep it 150 Mhz less than the core clock--any less and GPU-Z says the memory goes back to running at stock speeds.

I'm running my 7950's at 1100mhz core, will check voltage later and let you know.

What im not sure about is if a memory speed increase would help with the mining or not, does anyone know?

I can't change voltage with TRIXX(4.6.0 or 4.3.0). My card is Sapphire 7970.

705 Mh/s-Stable- with-7970 over-clocked to GPU to 1150mhz- Memory 1250mhz. Stock Voltage-

IMO dont bother messing with the volts, to much risk of frying a card and 7970s arent cheap, i would know since i have 9x 7970 lol

undervolting should not mess up the card over volting will

Does memory speeds effect your output does anyone know or just best to leave them stock?

I have found that in depends on the program you are using I use reaper and uping the memory clock by 200mhz makes no different
