Title: Matonis: "I am electing to take a brief break from commenting on this"
Post by: mjosephs on June 01, 2013, 11:09:52 AM
Exact quote is "I am electing to take a brief break from commenting on issues such as this." (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/05/31/us-digitalcurrency-regulation-bitcoin-idUSBRE94U17X20130531) but that won't fit in the thread's title.  Please forgive the minor editing.

Bring forth the speculation, o bitcointalk, ye 'fount of wisdom.

He is learning to filter and might even be seeing a larger picture coming into focus. Just because you know something does not mean you should say it at every opportunity.

He thinks he can do more good for the world by staying in the party. Maybe he has too much to lose and is willing to compromise over that.

It basically means "you already know my opinion of the assholes at FinCEN, and there's really nothing else productive that can be said at this point."
