I've recently been informed about a coin called Firstcoin
They're apparently going to place FTM (Firstcoin transaction machines) all over the world

What I've found mostly confusing was that they don't have a thread on bitcointalk at all and they failed to answer the simplest questions I asked them

I've just viewed one of their webinars and when I asked about annual inflation rate (because there's interest when you purchase packages [sounds like HYIP lol]) and the webinar dude shut down the chat  ::)

The way their information is structured suggests to me that it's ponzi scheme, with all the talk about passive income and the secretiveness about any other aims.
And with 100% premine - you are just giving money straight to them, so I think they need a much more solid case to persuade people to invest, other than profit with nothing in-between.

Yes, it is premined. But, what is interesting, they already put some ATM machines in operation. As far as I know, this is the first cryptocurrency, besides bitcoin, with its own atm machines installed. When you buy a package, you get your % of operation of those ATMs.

I bought Firstcoin on llivecoin.net. There are also other exchanges you can buy it. I joined the FirstCoin club by investing 300$ and wanted to see if it works. I received 2% in coins last month. So, it works. I have heard on one of the webinars, that in near future you would have the possibility to get a debit card connected to your FRST wallet.

Price is going up pretty straightforward, even during BTC hard fork, even during China crypto ban.

They started to support saome start-up projects.

So far, everything looks OK, and I am very positive about this coin.

I also just saw and heard it here, but I've visited the site and there is one interesting thing that they say.

I'm not familiar for this firstcoin i only heard this coin is in this forum. Maybe it is advertised in different website but i'm not aware what is this and it's used of it.

I have heard a lot of this coin in my coutry Vietnam. Personally I did not invested in its programme, but I am holding $100 worth of their coins in hope for it to x2 by the end of this year. Its growth kinda linear, observing it everyday

Prediction is that firstcoin price will grow to 20$ this month :D.I am in firstcoin project and I advertise this so I know.It is prediction that they will worth until 2019 100-300$ so it is better to wait even more and then sell.

I never heard of Firstcoin, but checking coinmarketcap, it is there.The price is healthy and has made major gains this past week - it could be its being pumped by the owners. Not every coin launches or has a thread on bitcointalk. Some people think having a thread here adds to their credibility, but it really is not the case. But it could still be a scam, who knows?

Nowadays there are many projects where the dev owns all the coins at the beginning and many are not scams. So this alone is not a crucial parameter. However, here there seems to be also other indicators...

So According to this blog, It's seems to me that it is indeed a ponzi scheme , because they don't offer any product, they only offer their coin to be use.

I also heard about them few days back and what drew my attention was their market cap. However, for a cryptocurrency that you purchase package, that sounds to me more like a ponzi and I would not really make a move on it.

The good backing could have been from stolen money, maybe some of the scammy ICOs in the past and then decided to want to play another stunts, cause how would they have gotten such backing without even an awareness? It sounds so fishy and my opinion is just to stay away from such coin.

It looks like this discussion is not really going anywhere as the devs didn't try very hard to convince the community that this is not a scam...

You can find it at WorldCoinIndex,I think that coincapmarket want to control altcoin world or something like that so they dont show real FirstCoin market results or they maybe have some kind of problems with following FirstCoin market cap idk or they are hacked by somebody who dont like FirstCoin or it is just a system error idk really.

I also heard some information about this coin the past few days, it emerged as a potentially profitable project for investors. In my country have established several groups to learn and invest in Firstcoin. I'm curious about it, but when I look up information on it on bitcointalk, just like you, they do not have a ANN Thread in the forum. This makes me suspicious. To me the lack of information about the owners and who owns the pre-mined coins ... along with the Ponzi "to good to be true" scheme stopped me to invest.

well, i dont know... everything is going upwards for a few months allready. There is no "candles" on graphs. It is rising steadily. Well, ponzi is not good, but MLM is fully legal. talking about  firstcoin, I have never heard of firstcoin before. I  have just found out this coin

So,what do you think after your research? ??? While we are talking it is coming slowly but steadily towards 20$. I would think about it twice because looks like good oportunity for little second job, nice second income with not very big investment. Litle risk, nice income.. Dont think that puting money on bank is safe.. There you cant have profit. Here you can put money like in bank and have nice monthly income..

I went to one of their tech meetings, basically it was a presentation of what bitcoin did and then it went to how the system works for this coin.

Everything is true, it works by sharing and getting people to invest, then everybody gets their shares; you must keep blocked the coin for 6 months and then you get both the gain and the percentage of shares / month.
They have ATM's and you can buy directly in stores with firstcoin.

Disadvantage:
- MLM, pyramid scheme
- If you invest using the club then you are blocked for 6 months. But you get the % monthly.

What I did?
Invested a small amount on livecoin. In 2 weeks I am already at + 15%

So, treat it as another coin, that has active network developers so they are not sleeping. Ride the bus and then get out when you found your destination.

IMO the owner still not notice bitcointalk yet or did not want to advertise here but everything must be try so who knows the owner will give bonus for early ICO investor for their coin/token.

most of the altcoins waiting for their crash.. if you watch worldcoinindex volume doesnt fall... marketcap is 102.ranked for now.. dont know.. They are doing marketing trough MLM concept. The biggest disappointment in FirstCoin is that since I bought it (last month) it did not grow anymore.
If instead of buying it I would have kept BTC, now I would have had + 30%.

So in maximum 15 days i will sell it and move on. Big disappointment coin.

FIrstcoin didnt had ICO, so doesnt have whitepaper to write about itself how it is superb. They are doing quiet MLM marketing and spreading.. It is coin that is allready adopted and used in thousands of places..There are ATMs that are starting to be used (until now there are few in use,but in 2018 is plan for install big number of atms).. After the best of intentions and hundreds of hours of work and effort to try to build something that would have a chance of paying back the money we all lost in the First Coin project, I have reached a very sombre conclusion.
That, despite their promises, the former owners have no interest in assisting me to make that happen.
This leaves me no choice but to gave up and inform members how we been a subject of scam.
However, in the course of my journey of trying to make sense of the events of the last several months, I have come to learn a lot more about what actually happened.

Total Money Taken

According to the data until 13 Feb 2018 the original founders Mr Gyorgy Peresztegi-Nagy , Gabor Kisbenedek and bella kisbenedek made over $245m in sales of Firstcoin. This figure is derived from the following reports generated by the FirstCoin Club:

Illegal Price Manipulation

More worryingly, it appears we have been scammed by the owners using what can only be described as ‘an invisible hand’ to continually change the satoshi-FRST This is something that is only available on a few exchanges such as LiveCoin and Yobit. They illegally manipulated the price, perpetuated a blatant Blockchain Fraud using the Firstcoin Club. Gabor Kisbenedek and his IT partner Daniel Kormendi together with Heisenberg used an ‘invisible hand’ on the public exchanges to trick you into thinking the price and value were higher than it really was.

Blockchain Fraud

If you recall, from December 2017 to Feb 2018 all withdrawals from the first coin club were blocked by the owners. The reason given for this was that they were implementing KYC and 2FA as part of industry compliance. While it is true that this technical upgrade was being done, it appears that during this time, the owners were illegally bypassing the blockchain and reselling the same coins that members believed they were holding. To explain this more, when a member bought coins from the exchange, that money was taken by the owners who then transferred the coins in a legitimate transaction. However, when the members then transferred their coins from the exchange and into the club wallets to purchase a package, the coins did not actually go into a secure ‘member wallet’ but instead went back to the owners to resell. The club software then created an entry that showed in your back-office as if the coins were there but this was simply a ledger and not reflective of the actual coins that were then sold to other members. In essence, we were left with ‘fake-coins’ that did not exist. This is another reason why the ‘circulating supply’ never changed from October and one of the reasons it appears that the coin removed from CoinMarketCap and later delisted from the LiveCoin exchange.

Missing $28m from LiveCoin

I had many meeting with Mr Gyorgy Peresztegi-Nagy to solve the issue, at the beginning, he was cooperative with me but always he changed his mind after talking to his partners. It has been revealed that at the time FirstCoin was delisted from the LiveCoin, the exchange was holding approximately $28m in sales revenue. Livecoin themselves have since confirmed that $14m has been realised to the solicitors representing a group of members. Mr Gyorgy Peresztegi-Nagy believed that the LDM management (present JAAG management) Mr Josip Bosnic CEO, Mr. Ghefari Dulapandan CIO, Mr. Andras Szekely CTO, Mr. Adrian Maximilian Necsoiu CMO walked away with S14m. Mr Nagy said he cannot make any firm claims however, some people have clearly become rich overnight.

Mr Nagy mentioned many time that a gentleman name Zoltan Toth is helping Gabor to make his entire move. I don’t know the truth who he was working for but I meet Mr Nagy via Mr Toth when I took over the firstcoin projects.

Uphill Battle I No Longer Think We Can Win

When I took over Firstcoin, I was 1000% sincere in my intention to use it as a platform to bring back value to us, the members. They promised me full funding and handover the paulownia plantation contract. They gave me 15BTC and part gift coin at the beginning to start building the club and the project. I spent all the fund to create the new platform and the club, I have invested a lot of my own time effort and resources over the last few months and one of the reasons I took this on with that belief, was that the owners promised me funding for the new project. At that time I also believed they had an interest in helping the members recover their loss. Fast forward a few short months later and not only have they never fulfilled their promises, but with the information I have now uncovered, it appears they were simply interested in looking for a new ‘front-person’ with which to divert the attention from themselves and use as a scapegoat. This would allow them to walk away with the $98 million they initially made.

I am aware there are several pending lawsuits against the former owners (both civil and criminal) and many people have expressed a strong desire to locate them and the former LDM.
