Title: Is a bitcoin miner SC a good way to start mining?
Post by: nex_ on June 01, 2013, 07:42:42 PM
I'm new to this whole cryptocurrency jazz but it's quite appealing I must say. I'm thinking of getting into it seriously and a starting point I'm considering is a SC miner, something like several BFL 50GH/s miners or a KNC Jupiter. So is it wise to start like that?
I also understand that BFL shipping queue is really long and ppl just started getting their units which were ordered last year. And KNC seem to have some shady policies about ppl selling their pre-order queue positions which leads to low trustworthiness of their company. Any advice is appreciated.

I would recommend you get yourself A graphics card like an ATI HD 7950 OR A ATI HD 7970and try out mining an alt coin like Litecoin or Digicoin or BitBar.

Why is that? I'd like to mine considerable amount of BTCs and going with a few AMD GPUs isn't going to help me in that regard.

If you buy the SC or similar product It would be difficult to recoup your hardware investment based on the rising difficulty rating for mining BTC. With one of the popular graphics cards you could more easily mine an alternate coin and bank on the value rising or exchange it for BTC.

You may want to check out the performance's of these cards
