I don't have any interest about that BCH thing in my mind, but certainly bitcoin fork was just a mere speculations and I believed it's controlled by an organizations connected to blockchain network. Holding bitcoin as of now can be profitable for long term investments as price now rising towards $5000 in each bitcoin.

No man, This doesn't make sense to see the bitcoin was turning into the mother of the forked coin. What the heck with the bitcoihn eventually the forked will be happening that the new coin will be issued due to the fork of bitcoin itself. 100 fork for bitcoin and another 100 shit coin will be appearing too?

This will cause more havoc to the already volatile altcoin markets that have suffered liquidity due to the last Fud AND BEAR market dumping. I do not know if this is a good thing or a bd thing but it may cause the price of BTC to rise before the fork so that people get their free coins. I think though it is getting too much now, like Bitcoin is a mother who is pregnant and giving birth to new coins every few months.  ;D ;D ;D

The answer is for you to have the same as you did with bch. I do not know what to do with the bitstream segwit2x do to give birth to a bitcoin anymore. Everyone expected to bc a lot to replace the bitcoin but it did not work as expected even at one time it cost even less than eth and now it comes a bitcoin subchanger again do not know the price But hopefully when bch was born it made the bitcoin price push up so it was not known if this one made the price of bitcoin exceed 5k.

Oh God! Hard Fork again? I think it's a good strategy to keep Bitcoin on top - hard forks should be made to compete other promising Alt Coins... What  do you think?

It is better to hold a trash coin rather than bitcoin gold. Just look at its name "bitcoin GOLD" lol. It means that it is not gold and fake. If it is gold, it does not need to indicate that. Don't buy btc for bitgold. If you have btc already, hold it.

It is going to be just another "extra" coin, which everybody will just dump immediately to get some extra free bitcoins. Which is not bad I mean... I like free Bitcoins :D

I have doubts, that Bitcoin Gold will have as many and important supporters like BitCash, although the name is really good :). Think, we are better prepaired now for free gaining.

I think it would have been better for bitgold to have been the term for Bitcoin cash at the last split.  I just don't have high hopes on another fork so soon after the last split.  Almost feels like a trap that will have the opposite effect of the last split.  I hope not for everyone's sake but it does have me worried.  If this is the last fork for awhile it would be nice to see some growth organically that is not due to such a major event.

For the benefit of everyone else with the same question, bitcoin GOLD is just a name. And it is no more interesting than a rock to non-technical people. Bitcoin gold contains "upgrades" to bitcoin that nobody even wants. As far as i know, the people who are trying to push this bitcoin gold are those who want to have control of bitcoin's development (for power and profit). Hope that ELI5s it for you.

You give me a good laugh, no it got nothing to do with gold, it is just the name that they used, and I think it is not an interesting coin at all, all the coin that coming from forking cant survive for a long time and can't be grow as good as the alt coin that coming from ICO and it will confused the investors again

Based on my experience on the first hard fork/splitting of BCH and BTC that was good to hold your money in bitcoin because you can get income in those two coin, the share of stock of you hold bitcoin has given a corresponding percentage of profit. But do not forget to choose to received your fund in bitcoin together with your profit because last split BTH value is too high but in just a couple of hours only few investors support this coin that is why the value starting to dump.

This developers of these coin are just riding the fame of bitcoin so they named their coin after bitcoin.
And there's bitcoin stake or bcs now, it's a premined coin there's an airdrop that's happening now.
I think we should expect more new coins named after bitcoin. ;D

Anyway, bitcoin gold is just a name. It has nothing to do with gold. Just like bitcoin cash, it has nothing to do with cash. Both bitcoin gold and bitcoin cash is meant to be a fork from the bitcoin. This may result in a chain split to happen and if you are holding one bitcoin, you will be given a bitcoin gold too. This already have happen to bitcoin recently with the bitcoin cash fork. I would be more interested to see if bitcoin price will rise after this fork as that is what happen to bitcoin cash fork.

That was same coin with the bitcoin cash bust just used the different name, but i can say the bitcoin gold will be using the different protocol with bitcoin cash because that caused by the fork of segwit 2x in the bitcoin network. That will be different.

Of course that it won't be the same as Gold though people will want it more than the other coins on Coinmarketcap. It will be pretty pricey.

However there are 1000 kind of Bitcoin, but the officially just one is Bitcoin BTC
The other we can call them with Alternative Coins  ;D

I'm afraid no one thinks it's serious. There is no such fierce debates about Bitcoin Gold as it was with Bitcoin Cash. Probably they would be closer to the end of October...

I think it is definitely worth it. Even if bitcoin price will go down after the fork we can cover the loss of coins which appeared. And if all goes well, you'll just get the profit.

Why is there less hype about bitcoin gold? Are they serious about what they are doing our just trying to fill their pockets. And also which is their official website? btcgpu.org has nothing in it! Just some social media links below. There is also no information about double spending which must not be ignored.

There are some posts here that are making me laugh so is the coin, because someone decided to add Gold to something doesn't guarantee its success but if this is a success I can see developers neglecting ICOs and joining Fork Bitcoin airdrop

It will all going to be same with bitcoin cash by all these hardforks. Bitcoin holders will get free coins to drop for money. Bitcoin will stay powerful. And yes every btc is going to bring you same amount of bitcoin gold as I know.

Bitcoin will always be the best and it will come across through many competitors but it will always be on the top as a crypto currency and no other currency can ever replace bitcoins.

If you have bitcoin in your wallet, you will get that bitcoingold.

It seems to me that no one wants to replace bitcoin. All coins will exist in parallel. The creation of additional coins creates additional competition in the market and does not allow monopoly actions. It's good for the entire community. Let each coin will have its supporters and everyone will benefit from it.
