Title: Trusted Traders
Post by: tokeweed on June 02, 2013, 10:29:50 AM
Hi guys. I just got into BTC and I just want to know who I can buy BTC from.

I used to play poker online for money and I have a few hundred USD in stars/moneybookers left to trade for BTC.

I want to know which people on here to trust since I am willing to send first.

Thanks.

One method is to look at this posting and maybe the date of joining.

Honestly I wouldnt send first to anyone unless they are a hero member and even then check through peoples posts. Never send first to anyone with less than 100 posts. Just use escrow until you yourself have enough rep that people will send first to you.

Seller will give bitcoin to Escrow and Escrow guy will hold Bitcoin untill you pay money to seller.

Goodluck.

For escrow i will suggest John K.

Hi tokeweed,

Phenixcoin might be a way to combine your two interests, as there is a site called phenixpoker.com where you can play for coins.

bitcoin-otc.com and localbitcoins.com were not mentioned yet as means to trade BTC with possibility of rating and in case of localbitcoin.com, also escrow is available.
Maybe bitcoin-otc is too hard for a beginner, though.

The trust system is quite new, so I wouldn't rely just on that.
But it can help.
