Title: Implementing BC in conjunction with Project Cyclos.
Post by: phoebusg on December 13, 2010, 04:53:21 AM
Related convo:

<Phoebus> http://project.cyclos.org/
<Phoebus> Used in brazil. open source.
<Phoebus> I was thinking of making a site based on it. (cyclos)
<Phoebus> But now I want to explore BC more.
<Phoebus> And see if the two can be linked...
<Phoebus> Because cyclos has put a lot of effort in the front-end as well as back-end.
<Phoebus> You can implement the thing in less than a day.
<xxxx> Hmm... you can hook it up to any currency?
<Phoebus> It has an internal units system.
<xxxx> That seems like it could be worth exploring.
<Phoebus> I think so yeah.
<xxxx> You may wish to talk to someone like gavinandersen.

<Phoebus> Check out their features.
<OneFixt> That's impressive
<Phoebus> I know eh?
<Phoebus> It's being used in Brazil. With a good number of users.
<Phoebus> I think the two projects /need/ to get together.
<xxxx> I like the "loans" feature.
<Phoebus> Or, make it easier to implement bc through cyclos, and vice versa.
<Phoebus> Use the node format to verify integrity and so forth.
<xxxx> I can't tell right away how well they would go together, but it should be investigated.
<Phoebus> Agreed.

I think there are many banking/accounting systems that could be used with bitcoin.

Beyond being a method of paiement, bitcoin is a CURRENCY.  As such, it can be used in conjonction with any of the current financial system techniques.

I personnaly prefer the use of the digital cash from David Chaum, but this cyclos system looks good as well.

I hear you, do you have a link for that approach?
I'd like to see a system that does not exclude users without a 'PC' or smartphones. Cyclos implements cellphones. And even African countries have cellphones, so it's very inclusive.

It happens that this morning I heard about a french company who offers a service for paiement via mobile phone.  Basically it uses only sound to transmit data, so it can be used with pretty much any phone.  I forgot the name of the company, though.

I'm pretty sure there are hundreds of solutions like this.  No offense, but I believe your stuff, cyclos, is just one of them.

PS.  ok I've found the name of the company :  TagPay.

Are there any news about adding Bitcoin support to this project?
