Yesterday i heard about powtoken project started giving free tokens via facebook on a site http://www.powtoken.com
Does it have a future ?

If it becomes successful will it have an impact on etherium price?

at this time many projects are starting to give free tokens, and more and more participating will certainly have an impact on the future of the coin. Can we look at other projects such as ebtc a few days ago that quite have a good future in my opinion.

would be cool but I kinda doubt it,at least sone usecases would be nice.  registration was kinda messy yesterday as well

You can't be sure if it will have future or not... If you can check the team behind and you trust that they will do what they say, than maybe it worths you time to think about it. There are so many ICOs nowdays that you will hardly have enough time to read them and most of them is waste of time and ETH, if you need to buy them.

Having looked through the website above, I would say there is no indication of the development team; it's just a nice project with a whitepaper construed mostly from the information on the website.
Maybe it will have the potential in future, but how to decide whether it is reliable and safe?

I participated it too. Fingers cross I hope it would have a good future. there re lots of airdrop nowadays.  I hope not everyone can make this airdrop thing then would be useless in the end since most of our time are consumed on these airdrops.

We can not tell for sure now. I was part some tokens in the airdrop too. We can get a sense of its future after December when we are allowed to sell the POW "lite" tokens given away. Till then as they say, STAY CALM AND HOLD IT.

Looks like just another token given out for free and the price that they are claiming for their coin can't be real because there is no way to determine the actual price of those free tokens. They have never sold those token so its value is $0 right now, price of each token will only be determined when it will be listed in some exchange platforms.

I will never share my personal details like facebook for airdrops....

I guess it has a chance to catch a high demand ratios due to facebook. Otherwise no chance at all

There are millions of facebook user right now and if they keep distributing coins for free like this than when they will list themselves, people will just dump all they have in few minutes.

Coins that are distributed via airdrop can't hold higher price.

I was one of those who were able to participate in it.
I even told my officemates about and told them to join too.  But honestly as of now i dont know what will be its usage.  Just hopeful that the people behind ot will prove that it is truly a worthy coin.

Facebook is popular and may be due to this reason this whole thing about powtoken is going to work in future.

Honestly, the future of this token is uncertain. But the concept is nice.

The price won't be the same when they move all the lite tokens to the ERC20 blockchain but it doesn't need to be that high, right now if you claim your tokens you'll get about 484,473 POW which at the current price is 196$

Even if the final price is 1/10th of that it's already worth it for the one minute it takes to sign up. You only need to log with facebook.

Well, let's see. It depends on what will be next, in case of good facebook campaign it can have future, because many people love to use facebook and love simple usable things that can be the powtoken itself. But at this point nothing to prove that way.

They do have whitepaper and long explanations of everything. Looks more legit than most tokens on this forum. One of the features is that you can easili send your facebook friends the coin through that website. In future maybe some facebook-app so you can send them through the facebook itself.

They will expand this to twitter in future.

I know a tech savvy person and a whale trader recommending this powtoken so I also tried it. The future will depend on how the devs works out his road map and support of the community.

Few people got lucky with Ebtc Airdrop and made some money,  Similarly ETHD.

eBTC didnt even have white paper or anything. It was just another ERC20-clone token with nice name. Powtoken actually has white paper and some good ideas of been social media token. I will hold some atleast. I would not compare this to e-tokens.

You are right. but I am confused by the end of this many airdrop everywhere. is this good ? because almost all of the coins that have been there. just add front letters.

The team is solid and serious, and the tokens were free. I expect a lot more from pow token than from all these eBTC eLTC eXRP copy paste clones.

for now indeed $0 for the price but i believe will high price when the token can claim in oktober 10
so just waiting to claim and convert to USD or bitcoin

Actually,I have experienced this already and I found out that I wasn't paid so I was disappointed. What I did the next was I reject some offers on facebook because all the details might be shown in their and easily get hacked. So I'm avoiding this kind of threading but maybe there's a significance on this to twitter but I hope not because in twitter you only like and retweet and there's not so many info to be posted. Anytime,you can just click the buttons and less worries.

These days there are a lot of free airdrop so Ive also tried to connect my facebook account and there is free powtoken. I dont know yet if this is will become legit and Ill just see if we can withdraw/sell this token.

This coin distribution similar with stellar/str now XLM, they airdrop with facebook auth and  stellar exist until now

Go sign up guys you won't lose anything it may have a future, they said withdraw/sell will be on in December hope so!

The distribution model is good as a concept, but I am not sure that it has been executes in the best possible way. Some people got too much in the beginning.

yeah, I got some powlite. The future will depend on the dev. We do not know exactly what he will do with his project. he has airdrop for many facebook accounts

It can not be said whether it will be successful. But if successful, then ethereum does not seem to have any effect on the price. But it will tell that time.

I was happy to see this new approach to widening the distribution of a token to the masses thru facebook and twitter. I think it is a good start to experiment in gaining a wider distribution outside of the crypto trader bubble and into mainstream society. A small step but important to get the ball rolling on new distribution models and expanding the cryptospace.

For starters, EtherDelta obviously. IDEX as well just listed POW recently. After the 'bridge' connecting POW and POW Lite claimable from Twitter & Facebook, there should be more to come. But for now, the project is ongoing. We should see POW becoming the biggest token in terms of market capitalization in the near future. I'm confident because of everyone will join the game thanks to free POW giveaway. Eventually POW will becoming big. We shall wait and see

A: We understand that security is an issue now a days, but we wary that we do NOT collect any personal information, since we only rely on the API side of FB platform, and as a means of getting "real" users claiming our token and not BOTS, and since the Airdrop still is underway, it serves a means of trading and getting referrals without any fees, therefore allowing its Massive reach before getting the ERC20 Bridge live. Once the Bridge goes live, jumping to the ETH network involves, as all Crypto´s are, fees for transferring since the costs of the network need to be paid of for its usage.

A: The answer is quite simple: the use of Social media its the Airdrop stage of the coin! what better User Base to share and to claim, and to have people referred, than the #1 Social Media platform to share and have the Tokens Claimed! As for the Video... We´ll tell our graphic designer to make the Videos Less Sketchy... hehe but I really liked it!

First movers in everything ALWAYS get an advantage.

If you are concerned about the coin supply, then say so.  But most people expressing concerned about the coin supply of any coin believe in the myth that coin supply dictates price. No it doesn't. There is a simple mathematical formula for marketcapitalization: MarketCap = PRICE * CIRCULATING COIN SUPPLY  
Thus
PRICE is NOT dependent upon circulating coin supply nor total coin supply

When I buy coins, I don't say "Hmmmm... I wonder what the coin supply is". That is at the bottom of my list of parameters for consideration.

And when it is FREE, I have one parameter. Will they give me a LOT of them?  :D :D

POW is NOT an ICO so Facebook stance on ICOs is irrelevant here. And even if they were an ICO, there are 50million other advertising venues on the planet. Facebook does not corner the market on advertising. YAWWWnnnn...
