Title: ETH address honeypot. connected with monaco token theft?
Post by: vlom on October 04, 2017, 09:07:57 PM
UPDATE: see Edit 3:

i found the private key to this ETH address:

0xB7605ddc0327406A7aC225B9dE87865E22aC5927

first i thought: fuck, 31k tokens worth about 30k $.

then i had a closer look @ https://etherscan.io/address/0xb7605ddc0327406a7ac225b9de87865e22ac5927

a lot of failed transaction. a lot off attempts to transfer the MinereumToken away.

so i think somebody is using this a an honeypot. people find the private key and sent ETH to the address to be able to transfer the ERC tokens. but as soon as there is enough ETH to be able to transfer MinereumTokens the ETH is drained.$

EDIT 1:

i googled the address and I found this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924985.msg20011831#msg20011831

For anyone who stolen my monaco please return it  :'(

Yea sort of ingenious way of siphoning greedy hackers. Just kind of curious how you "found it", was it given to you? Would like to know how well this is doing for them haha

That is really interesting. There are so many small transactions of ETH that your theory makes sense.

I am wondering as well how you "found" it?

Wow man, is this for real? Damn! I did not expect something like this. Pretty great idea of the maker. Genius! haha. Would really like to see the reaction on the faces of those greedy mother fckrs when they found out they wasted sht for nothing. Lol. Serves them right. Haha.

Great job on realizing and sharing that story here though. Really made my day.

They must be using a bot to drain the coins, otherwise someone may outwin them in on their own game. This is too a serious flaw of Ethereum system, what if the prices for transaction fees in ethereum exceeds the total price of amount of transferable tokens?

There is a similar scam run with Counter Party/Bitcoin.  Someone posts or leaks their wallet address with some counter party assets.  You need to add a small amount of Bitcoin to transfer a counter party asset, so they have a script that moves the Bitcoin out before the transfer is made.

I don't get what's going on here? How does the ETH get drained?

I happened to waste my 0.025 ETH on this address trying to extract the Minerium, but friends the address sweep your eth at the real time you send the ETH to it. Its nearly not possible for general people like me to get the Minerium out of there.

it seems the address everyone can claim it but you must be fast enough to get the minerium out from that address

and as you know that the minerium token cant be send the whole balance, and if you still dont understand how the minerium works you can read in the website

This address is a scam address , i tried taking some MNX by depositing some ETH to pay as fees but these niggers took away that fees also, they are using some kind of softwares or bots so when you send some money they quickly sweep away it without waiting for a network confirmation.

Yes, that is right. All private keys that can be found in the public domain are already under their control. Probably the whole team works.
